No oil or shampoo can remedy hair loss. Using external means for a problem that is mostly internal would give you no results. Instead adhere to better lifestyle. Daily long n brisk walks. Good healthy and balanced food. Stop junk food especially cold fizzy, carbonated drinks. Replace with green coconut water daily. Drink one green coconut daily for a month. Increase fruits consumption. Whole fruits and not juices. Shampoo not more than once or twice a week. Apply generous portion of coconut oil at night, a day befor you have to shampoo.

You asked: I was diagnosed with body dysmorphobia 2 years back. I am suffering from server hair fall. My younger sister pulled my hair unknowingly since then the anxiety and condition gets worsen. At that time I have consulted a psychiatrist at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, he prescribed me Paxidep cr25 and Lonazep 0.5 for sleep problem. I continued the medicine for 3-4 months and discontinued when I felt slightly better. These days I am not feeling depressed as before but I can't go out without a cap or covering my hair. I don't want to show my baldness to anyone. This makes me worried. I think people are staring at me and feeling stage phobia type. My sister marriage is in April. I don't understand how to handle the situation. I am thinking of going to NIMHANS or AIIMS Bhubaneswar again. Please advice me.

Hello, You can try the following home remedies for regrowing your hair: GARLIC AND HONEY: The sulfur and selenium contained within garlic can help fortify the structure of the hair shaft, meaning it can not only help to replenish lost hair, but can strengthen existing hair as well. Extract the juice from a small head of garlic or about eight cloves. Do this by peeling each clove and using a garlic press to squeeze the juice from each clove. This should yield about one tablespoon of garlic juice. Blend this juice with an equal amount of honey. Apply this powerful mixture to your scalp and hair and leave it on for 20 minutes or more before rinsing out. This can be done two to three times per week or more often if you want. CASTOR OIL: Castor oil helps with hair regrowth and hair loss and many other hair and scalp problems. Castor oil has a thick consistency, so you can mix it with coconut oil, olive oil or jojoba oil in a half and half ratio. This will make the mask easier to distribute throughout your hair. Use your fingers or a brush and start applying it onto your scalp with circular motions. This gentle massage increases the blood circulation, rejuvenates the hair, and stimulates hair growth. ONION JUICE: Onion is rich in sulfur. This mineral is one of the main building blocks of hair. Extract the juice of one onion and massage it into your scalp or cover the bald patches. Leave on for at least 15 minutes (longer if you can tolerate the smell) and then wash out using a mild shampoo. You can also add honey to the onion juice. CURRY LEAVES: Soak a handful of fresh curry leaves in plain water overnight. The next morning chew the curry leaves and follow it up with the water. Curry leaves will promote hair growth and give you that shiny, bushy and thick hair. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: You could give your hair a last rinse using apple cider vinegar concoction. Mix 1 part of ACV with 2 parts of plain water and use it as a final rinse (after shampoo). ALOE VERA: To reduce pitta and preserve the health of your hair, drink Aloe Vera juice (⅓ cup preferably with a pinch of cumin) 3 times a day for about 3 months. You can also scrape out the gel from an aloe plant with a spoon, and apply to your hair and scalp (and face too). OIL MASSAGE: Massaging the scalp with brahmi oil or bhringaraj oil at bedtime can help to prevent hair loss. In addition to the qualities of the oil, the massage itself will improve circulation at the root of the hair, thus bringing more nutrients to support hair growth. FOOD FOR YOUR HAIR: Healthy hair depends upon a nourishing diet. Dairy products such as cheese, milk, and yogurt are beneficial for the hair (assuming you digest them well), as are fruits, green vegetables and white radish. Drinking tender coconut water is also helpful.

How To Take Care Of Your Skin in Monsoons?

MD - MD- Skin & VD, MBBS
Dermatologist, Ghaziabad
How To Take Care Of Your Skin in Monsoons?

Monsoon comes with a relief after those scorching hot summer days. You feel relieved and in this enjoyment, forget about your skin. Yes, this damp weather may let you feel easy but does your skin feel the same? The answer is perfect NO! There are a lot of problems that arise along with the monsoon.
The good news is that if you take some care, you will be able to enjoy the season along with keeping your skin healthy and glowing.

Here are certain tips for your skin care during monsoon:

Tips for skin care:
There are mainly three types of skin which are oily skin, dry skin and combination skin. Depending upon your skin you should follow a different regime, but discussed here are certain tips that will be useful for all skin types during monsoon.

  1. Wash your face at least 3 to 4 times a day. If you have dry skin, then do not overdo it as it may dry it up more. Use soap-free cleansers to keep your face clean and moist all the time.
  2. Use scrubbers at regular intervals as it helps in exfoliating your skin and unclogging the pores. Even one's with oily skin will also find it useful.
  3. After cleansing and scrubbing use alcohol free toner so that the open pores that are caused by high humidity are closed. Too many open pores are not good for oily or combination skin.
  4. It's a habit of most individuals to stop the use of a sunscreen as it starts showering. Do not do that, keep using it even when the climate cools down and the sun is behind the clouds.
  5. Avoid using heavy makeup during the monsoon. Even if you have to apply some, go for waterproof makeup.
  6. For keeping your skin hydrated and brightening it, you can use lotion based serum that will help to keep your face moist.
  7. Avoid bleaching in monsoon as it is more harmful to your skin during this season.
  8. Take care of your lips by applying some milk cream on it. If you find them slightly cracked you can apply coconut oil. Try to avoid deep colored lipsticks. Go for natural shades during monsoons.
  9. Keep your skin clean and for that do pedicure and manicure regularly. It is always recommended more during the monsoons.
  10. After reaching home wash your feet, hands and face properly. During the monsoon, there are more germs everywhere so it is necessary that keep them clean.
  11. Drink as much water as you can to be hydrated.

Follow these tips as these will keep your skin glowing even during this dull season. However, if you still feel odd, it's better to get expert advice on skin care during the monsoon.

My lips is too black, n I dnt any bad hbts so please give the medicine, cream, tab.
Being a homoeopath,I will suggest you a natural way to glow your lips along with a lip balm. Lemon, Sugar Lip Scrub: In a small bowl, mix in 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and coconut oil. Add in and stir thoroughly 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar, a bit at a time to make thick paste of uniform consistency. If needed, you can add in more sugar. After mixing it well, you can transfer the scrub into a suitable storage container. It can be safely kept in fridge for about one week.Apply a little bit of the scrub to your lips, and scrub it in circular motion. To effectively exfoliate your lips, use a small toothbrush. Rinse your lips with warm water, and apply a LIP balm( BAKSON) on your choice.

I loose a lot of hair and have a lot of dandruff plus my hair are dry and rough whats tge solution.

BHMS
Homeopath,
I loose a lot of hair and have a lot of dandruff plus my hair are dry and rough whats tge solution.
Dear lybrate user, hair growth occurs in cycles. Each cycle consists of a long growing phase (anagen), a short transitional phase (catagen) and a short resting phase (telogen). At the end of the resting phase, the hair falls out (exogen) and a new hair starts growing in the follicle beginning the cycle again. Normally, about 40 hairs reach the end of their resting phase each day and fall out. When more than 100 hairs fall out per day, clinical hair loss may occur. Hair loss have many causes such as:- 1) shrinkage of the hair follicles due to the influence of androgenic hormones. 2) under-nutrition of the hair due to fungal infection on the scalp. 3) effects of radio therapy or chemotherapy. 4) nutritional deficiencies. 5) autoimmune diseases. Modes of treatment for hairfall/alopecia includes surgical modes, oral medicine & local external application. The minimum duration of the course of oral medicines & external application is 6 months. But before starting any treatment, the proper underlying cause behind alopecia needs to be diagnosed. A detailed case taking is required to find out the cause behind alopecia. You may consult me privately via lybrate if you want to get rid of alopecia.

A lot of people use hair styles that need tight pulling of hair. This process of hair styling causes friction among hair strands and results in hair breakage. This condition is known as tractional alopecia.
