Review your life style to a better way. Cut down salt in take. Walk for 40 minutes daily. Do pranayam also get checked for lipid profile rft renal function test and ECG.

You haven't told about fever. If no fever simple paracetamol and steam inhalation will help. He may keep a bdi ilaaychi in mouth to control cough.
