Hi. Whenever you have a fall or injury resulting in pain and swelling, first 2 days do cold pack, no hot water bag. When the swelling reduces than you can go for hot bag. Secondly you want to do Gym. If the pain is negligible and there is no stress on ankle than you can start with cycle and crosstrainer for cardio and upper body weight training and seated leg exercises like Leg extension and leg curl. Avoid squats with weight, calf raise etc for 1-2 week. After that you can start with one set of exercise restricted before and gradually move to 2 sets and increment your weight (resistance ) back to your regular intensity.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Gout is a condition occurring because of a metabolic aberration, certain enzyme associated with purine metabolism is absent, generating more uric acid. There is no permanent cure for the condition according to modern medicine. As regards Ayurvedic drugs, it is better if you consult that expert. Thanks.

Is using knee cap an avoid small dislocation of leg knee I did not get an perfect answers.
knee caps will provide more stability to the knee joint . . We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone

Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Is osteoarthritis a part of aging, and is there a way to reduce risks, even after age 50?

Hi, yes most of the time osteoarthritis is part of ageing and sometimes our life style aggravates it or it gets aggravated in certain disease like rheumatoid etc. You can do few things to maintain good bone mineral density (by having adequate calcium & vit d level) & strengthing exercises for knee joints, by this you can reduce the risk of oa.
