Dear lybrate-user, it is happening repeatedly. It may be alcohol withdrawal or alcohol intoxication or other conditions related to alcohol. Whatever it is you need to treat your alcohol use. Why don; t you go to a psychiatrist or deaddiction centre to quit alcohol or to find out whether you will become a person who is dependent on alcohol. For the time being take a pain killer. But it is important to consult soon.

Dear lybrate-user, start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items, too much of salt in food shud be avoided. Start avle ka murabba daily. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc, white of egg (if you eat egg). Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes. Please update with your valuable feedback.

Hello. We can't reverse the established pathology back, but we can control the process in the stage it is so that it wouldn't grow further. Apply Bakson’s Rheum Aid oil gently (2-3 times a day) and take orally Bakson’s Rheum-Aid syrup/ 1 tablespoon thrice daily. Also, increase your dietary intake of calcium which is present in green leafy vegetables, milk, milk products, sea food, white legumes, dried fig, black-eyed peas, almonds, oranges, seasame seeds. And vitamin D which is essential for absorption of calcium in our body and is synthesized naturally after getting exposed to sunlight, so early morning sunlight for 10-15min. 2-3 times a day is mandatory. Apart from this, do walk daily along with physiotherapy will also help you. For Eye irritation: Use Euphrasia eye drops 2-3times a day.

Back Pain - How Ayurveda Can Help You Treat It?

Back Pain - How Ayurveda Can Help You Treat It?

A painful, common condition that affects the lower part of the spine is termed as back pain. It is mostly caused by strain (muscle injury) or sprain (ligament injury). Some other causes include poor posture, improper lifting, fracture, infrequent exercise, arthritis or a ruptured disk. Usually, pain in the lower back is the only symptom.

Conventional treatment for back pain often includes

  1. Traction
  2. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
  3. Weight control

If these treatments fail, then the only option left is surgery. Either discectomy (surgical procedure to relieve pressure in the disc by removing the gel-like substance in the disc) or foraminotomy (surgical procedure to expand the gaps through which the nerves pass) is performed.

However, conventional therapy usually has side-effects and only manages to suppress the problem, not cure it. If you seek a cure, Ayurveda is an excellent option. Usually, Ayurvedic remedies are non-invasive, natural and can be arranged at home.

Here are some great Ayurvedic treatments:

  1. According to the principles of Ayurveda, imbalance in the doshas can lead to problems in the body. The goal of Ayurveda is to balance the doshas and heal the body from the inside. So a lot of Ayurvedic treatments comprise of foods that need to be consumed for the body to heal. For example, you can blend wheat, coriander powder, khuskhus powder and milk together, boil it for twenty minutes and then consume it at room temperature. This will relieve your pain.
  2. Another thing you can do is fry garlic in coconut oil and then use the oil to massage over the affected areas on your back.
  3. To restore the damaged dosha, daily purgation is suggested.
  4. Practicing Yoga can go a long way in managing your pain as well. In Ayurveda, pain is seen as a result of exerting yourself too much, either emotionally or physically. If your spine needs strength, your mind must be strong first of all. So, firstly, your mind needs balance before you can focus on the affected areas. When doing Yoga, start with easy postures such as backbends. Consult a yoga therapist or teacher before you start doing any yoga posture.
  5. Panchkarma therapies like Kati basti, Anuvasan basti, niruha basti, special Ayurveda tail abhyanga (message), steam with Ayurvedaic Aushadh like nirgundi patra , rasna, eranda mula etc. will give you great and permanent results. Also, Patrapinda swedan will also help in relieving pain.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Part and parcel of spondylosis and age-related changes. Do regular exercises. These sounds are common in people who live sedentary lives. Their muscles get stiff when maintaining a fixed position for long periods of time. Flexibility exercises are ideal.

This might be because of urine infection which will be common in women and hence once you go for complete urine exam and urine culture if possible to know the organism causing the problem and hence this needs to be treated with medicines. You can use antibiotics which are sensitive to the organism or else you can also you homeo medicines, if you need any good homeo medicines then write back to me in detail.

Runner's Knee - How To Get Relief?

MS - Orthopaedics, MBBS
Orthopedist, Chennai
Runner's Knee - How To Get Relief?

Runner's knee is not a particularly dangerous problem. It is an expansive term that refers to the pain you feel in case you have one of the few knee issues. For instance, chondromalacia patella, a condition due to softening of the cartilage under the kneecap can lead to runner's knee side effects.

Runner's knee can happen for a few reasons:

  1. Overuse of the knee in case you are performing highly stretchable exercises
  2. An immediate hit to the knee as from a fall or a blow
  3. Your bones are not lined up or aligned properly (this is called malalignment)
  4. If any of the bones from your hips to your lower legs are out of their right positions, including the kneecap itself, excessive amount of weight can be felt on specific spots in the joint. At that point, your kneecap will not move easily, which can bring about pain.
  5. Problems with your feet like hypermobile feet (when the joints in and around the feet move more than they should)
  6. Powerless or unequal thigh muscles. The muscles in the front of your thigh keep your kneecap in its place when you stretch or bend the joint. If they are tight, your kneecap may shift.

Symptoms of Runner's Knee:

The main symptom you will notice is pain. It can happen:

  • In front, behind, or around your kneecap
  • When you bend your knee, such as when you walk, squat, kneel, run, or even get up from a chair
  • When you walk downstairs or downhill

You might also notice swelling around your knee or a popping or grinding feeling inside the joint.

For the vast majority, runner's knee shows signs of improvement with time. However, certain treatments or remedies for pain elevation are as follows:

  1. Rest your knee. Try to avoid exercises that aggravate the pain, for example, running, lunging, squatting, or sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  2. Ice your knee to relieve the pain and swelling. Do it for 20 to 30 minutes each three to four hours for three days, or until the pain is gone.
  3. Wrap your knee. Use a flexible wrap, brace, or sleeves to give it additional support.
  4. Keep your leg raised on a cushion when you are sitting or resting.
  5. Take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen or naproxen. These medications help in getting rid of the irritation and help in reducing the pain and swelling. However, they can have reactions such as a risk of bleeding and ulcers.
  6. Do stretching exercises, especially for your quadriceps muscles. Your specialist can prescribe a physiotherapist to show you what to do.
  7. Try arch or knee supports for your shoes. They may help with the position of your feet. You can get them at the store or get them custom-made.
  8. In case that you attempt these procedures and your knee still hurts, enquire as to whether you have to see a surgeon.
  9. Your specialist additionally may suggest that you get injections of a corticosteroid to help with the pain. However, these are not replacements for rest or exercises.
  10. Although it is uncommon, extreme instances of runner's knee may require surgery. An orthopedic specialist can replace or remove the affected ligament and, in extraordinary cases, adjust the position of the kneecap.

An Orthopaedic specialist can help you sort out the problem.
