Hi lybrate-user here are 6 ways to gain weight healthily: 1. Eating 5 to 6 meals a day in order to gain weight, start eating 5-6 meals a day by breaking them into parts. Eating a lot at once may cause indigestion if the body fails to absorb all nutrients. Eat in small amounts, even if you are not hungry and there will be an increase in appetite from day to day. The aim should be to have a generously portioned breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as two to three snacks in between. 2. Start weight training if you build your muscles through weight training, it will convert the extra weight into lean body mass and also stimulate your appetite. The extra muscle increases the rate of metabolism. When you start exercising you will often experience extreme muscle soreness but it goes away in 3-5 days. 3. Load up on protein besides weight training, a protein-rich diet can help you gain mass. Eating a meal heavy in protein shortly after finishing exercise can be highly effective in adding extra pounds to your body. However, a diet focused only on lean protein is not helpful. It is important to make sure that your diet has plenty of fat in it. Eat foods rich in protein like cheese, meat, eggs, etc to gain weight in a healthy manner. 4. Workout your entire body a lot of people focus only on training the muscles on their arms, chest and shoulders and this is a grave error. Firstly, it will give you a disproportionate body; and it will make you prone to injuries. Therefore, it's important to work out the entire body for a complete and balanced look. 5. Drink your calories to reach the calorie requirement only by eating may be tough. Drinking milk, milkshakes or protein shakes with little or no sugar can be an effective way to load up on the calorie requirements. 6. Be patient and believe in yourself gaining weight quickly in a healthy manner is unrealistic. Every body type is different and it takes months to gain weight. Living healthy by eating the right diet will increase your strength. It is also important to keep following the routine even if you don't see any gains. Caution: junk food and fried foods must be avoided; although have a tendency to add more fat to your body but are very low in vitamins and minerals which are essentially required to keep you really fit.

Hellosir/madam, I am suffering from type 1 diabetes since 22 years, my sugar levels are under control only fbs 98, plbs 110 and hba1c 5.6. But I used to go for urine per day only 4-5 times .i am on insugen 30/70 mrng 10u, night 12u, some times I get more angry on my kid and even ill beat him also and shouts on my kid. I feels that im alone and no one will care me ill fell like that please suggest me what to do to get ride of this problem.

Excess Facial Hair: How To Control It?

Facial hair in women can be an embarrassing and touchy subject. While people may notice it and avoid speaking about it, the stare that lasts for just a second longer on your face will be uneasy. It is time you get rid of it and stop grabbing more attention than you need:

1. Hide it: Some of the most common methods to hide facial hair are bleaching, threading, waxing, depilation or electrolysis. Each of these methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Bleaching, for example, masks the hair for a while and gives it a golden tinge which still makes it less visible. Threading or waxing has to be undertaken at periodic intervals and both may result in thicker hair growth in the surrounding areas. Women who are regular with their body care regimen can try these methods.

2. Destroy it: Use a tweezers to pull it out: This one mostly works on the instinct that you get when you see the hair. It works if you don't have too much hair and just a couple here and there that can be easily pulled out. Sterilize the tweezers with alcohol to avoid infection. You will have to grip near the root and give a firm pull to get rid of the whole thing. It is painful but if done right it can last 3-8 weeks before its replacement shows up.

3. Shave it: Yes, women do it too. Apply a shaving gel or foam and use a disposable razor to clip the hair. Though this is relatively less painful, hair growth afterwards is quite fast so you'll have to be careful to add it to your schedule often enough.

4. Try natural methods: It is slow but cheap and reliable. The visible effects of using natural ingredients for hair removal happens only over a period of time but the results are well worth the wait. Turmeric powder is an ancient remedy for facial and body hair - so much so that Indian brides follow a traditional 'haldi' routine before their wedding. Other natural ingredients you can try include gram flour (besan) and sugar was. You can also give a good rub with a pumice stone.

5. Try Electrolysis: It is the only permanent method but is tedious and requires multiple sessions. It is usually recommended if there are few thick hair limited to one part of body. In this method hair root is destroyed with the help of thin metallic probe connected to a  machine through which electricity is delivered to hair roots.


6. Try a laser treatment: Laser is one of the most effective treatments for unwanted body hair. The bright beams of heat and light from the laser directly reaches the roots of the hair, removing it and preventing re-growth for a fair period of time. The downside is that it'll take a few months and prove to be expensive but the results can be well worth the wait as it can permanently remove hair. You may also need multiple sittings to destroy the hair growth completely. If peace of mind is your criteria, then go for it.

Large breasts are not just aesthetically unappealing but can also lead to a lot of structural problems including neck and back pain. This condition, called macromastia, is when either breast weighs more than 500 g. Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is aimed at reducing the size of the breasts followed by reshaping them if required. This will not just produce an aesthetically appealing image for the person but also can help relieve problems like neck and back pain.

Indications - When should you have breast reduction?

  1. There is constant back, shoulder, head, and/or neck pain
  2. Constant irritation of skin under the breasts
  3. Breathing difficulty
  4. Grooves on the shoulders from bra straps
  5. Poor posture
  6. Numbness in parts of the breasts and upper chest due to excessive weight
  7. Unhappy with the overall appearance

While these are the problems that mandate breast reduction, the following is a pointer towards who can go for the surgery. Needless to say, not everybody is a candidate.

Overview of the procedure: 

It is most often a combination of liposuction and gland reduction. Liposuction forms a small part of the procedure and it is the gland reshaping that actually reduces the size. There are many ways to do it and different surgeons may prefer different techniques depending on the size of the breast, quality of the skin, expectation of the patient. The two most common ways are one in which the final scars lie around the areola and vertically downwards and the other in which the scar is anchor shaped with an additional horizontal limb along the breast crease under the breast.

To achieve the best desired results, the first step is to have a detailed discussion. A thorough physical examination followed by mammographic evaluation will help arrive at the best possible technique. Along with the desired results, also discuss side effects, limitations, risks, postoperative care, recovery, and of course costs. Other factors are also to be considered including age, gestational history, feeding history, medication allergies, and detailed medical history including bleeding disorders, lung disorders, cardiac issues, etc.

A decision is then finally made to go ahead with breast reduction, which will not just improve her looks but also her confidence and relieve her of problems that back ache and neck pain.

Dear to decrease your weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, half teaspoon of honey in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Drink plenty of fluids and water daily. 4.Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. MORNING: banana shake (2 bananas and 1 glass of milk) sprouts Brown Bread with 2 eggs Or paneer stuffed paratha 2. LUNCH: 1 soup bowl of dal 1 small size bowl of green veg 1 small plate of rice 3 to 4 phulka paneer 100 to 150 gm in day time 3. LATE AFTERNOON: 1 fruit and coffee with 4 cookies 4. In the initial few weeks baby will try to feed more and it could be every 2 hours or less. If the baby is feeding too frequently may suggest that it is not latching well or only nipple feeding. So try to correct the technique in that case and baby should have good mouthful of your breast than only nipple. You should breast feed on demand means whenever baby wants to feed and as long as baby wants to feed. You should breastfeed throughout the day and also in night. Day by day baby’s demand will keep on increasing because weight gain which is mat maximum in the first 6 months.

Hi. Sir am diabetic, am taking glyciphage 50mg 1 at after dinner am vegetarian. My weight is 104kg, like to walk and am walking 3km perday, but now if I walk more my sugar gose down. And take medication for BP talma-am 40mg. I feel hungry everyafter 3 hours. I take full breakfast at 9am. Lunch at 2pm only moong dal and rice and salads. Some snacks at 7 pm. Dinner at 9.30pm. Some bhaji and chapati And curd or chas. But cant reduce my weight. Am I taking right medicine. I check my sugar and bp at every 3-4 months. Please guide me..

Dear let me know your latest sugars. It is very rare to have low blood sugars with only one tablet of glyciphage. Have small frequent meals every 3 hrs. Why dont you try cycling. It ia a very good exercise. Also you need to understand that energy expenditure should be more than energy intake for a successful weight loss. Please consult a dietician for a lesser calorie diet which does not cause weakness.

1). Read labels carefully- look for products labeled sodium-free, salt-free, low-sodium, very low-sodium, reduced or less sodium, or light in sodium. 2) consume potassium-rich foods. Potassium helps balance sodium levels in the body. Bananas, carrots, spinach and raisins are high-potassium foods 3) drink plenty of water. Water flushes out the system, taking excess sodium with it.
