I have back pain in last 2 months I am 20 years old have if got any relief. What should I do now?
Take castor oil 15 ml with lukewarm milk at bed time and take ajwaiyan, haldi, dalchini in equal amount. Mix it in luke warm water add 2tablespoon of cowghee and apply this paste on the most tender are of back. Cover it with paper to prevent it from drying and remove it after 20 mins. Take ashwagandha ghan vati 500 mg 2 three times a day. Do it for 15 days and take advise accordingly.

u have to need spinal extension exercises. 1 u lying Supine then u bend ur both knee now u lift ur hip hold 5 second, do15 times. 2 now u prone in lying then place ur hand under the shoulder mount u lift ur shoulder hold for 20 second then relax. do 12 times . Take LS Belt while driving that can prevent spine from jerk.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. When leg pain occurs after strenuous physical activity, you can simply apply cold compresses. This will help reduce the pain by numbing the affected area and control swelling and inflammation. 1. Wrap a few ice cubes (or a bag of frozen peas) in a thin towel. 2. Apply this pack on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes, while keeping the leg (s) elevated. 3. Do this a few times a day. Note: do not apply ice directly on the skin, as it may cause frostbite. 2. Massage massage promotes faster recovery from muscle damage that causes leg pain. 10 minutes of massage therapy attenuates inflammatory signaling after exercise-induced muscle damage. In addition, massage improves blood circulation and helps relieve stress and anxiety. 1. Rub some warm olive, coconut or mustard oil on the affected area. 2. Using gentle yet firm strokes, massage your legs for about 10 minutes. 3. Do this 2 or 3 times daily as needed. You can also use a self-massage device or apply pressure to sore muscles using a tennis ball. Also take mag phos 6x - twice daily 4 tablets. Do a x-ray of the affected area.

Need evaluation for the cause of recurrent knee arthritis. Meanwhile you can do basic investigation before in person consultation. Cbc. Esr. Let. Rft. Hla b27. Rbs. Urine rm. Xray pelvis ap view. Consult with reports.

If you have pain when going to bed it may be due to irritation of spinal nerves. Do a test for yourself: walk on toes by lifting your heals - then walk on heals by lifting your toes. When you get pain severe when walking either of this way there is a chance of spinal nerve getting irritated. Spinal nerve irritation may be due to continuous bike or car driving, wrong sitting posture during work, heavy weight lifting, etc. You need a consultation from a qualified physiotherapist.

Cramps

Medical Conditions

atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries)

the presence of infection in the bone or tissues of the leg
nerve damage (often as a result of conditions such as diabetes)

Hi Mr. Lybrate-user your symptoms indicate a cervical radiculaopathy. It could be a simple neck muscles spasm too. Apply hot fermentation to the painful area. If no relief cunsult a physiotherapist. These symptoms can be relieved in simple 1 week, 6 -7 physio sessions. By stretching the tight muscles and using pain relieving modalities.

Hi I have a hairline fracture in my left toe since last 10 days doctor suggest me to just relax for 10 days it will be ok but after 10 days it has not recover properly it still paining and swelling is also there. Can you suggest me that can I need plaster on my toe for fast recovery.

One of the main causes of foot pain is wearing shoes that do not fit properly. You can also develop foot pain if you are injured during high-impact exercise or sport activities, such as jogging or intense aerobics. There are a few general tips that can help relieve your discomfort. These include: 1.applying ice to the affected area 2.taking a pain reliever medicine 3.using foot pads to prevent rubbing on the affected area 3.keeping the foot that is causing you pain elevated 4.resting your foot as much as possible You can take many measures to help prevent ongoing foot pain. For example: 1.choose comfortable, roomy, and well-cushioned shoes 2.avoid shoes with large heels and narrow toe areas 3.maintain a healthy weight 4.stretch before engaging in vigorous exercise 5.practice good foot hygiene 6.always wear some type of footwear when outdoors to protect your feet. Also follow Dr Sonia Sharma's advice on exercises that she has given. Best wishes

Hi lybrate user, there is no single treatment for multiple conditions. Lets start from spine (lumbar & cervical, spondylosis is a degenerative process & treatment depends on severity of condition from conservative management, nerve blocks, minimally invasive procedures to open spine surgery. For frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) physiotherapy will help but if there is sever pain in doing physio you can take help of pain specialist/orthopedician for intraarticular injection & then you can continue with physio. For high cholesterol & bp you should take consultation of general physician & dietician for medication, diet modification & active life style. Hope it helps.

My ring fingers both the hands getting locked in the morning hours. And slowly bending as they expose to heat or so. I discovered as trigger finger. I am diabetic too. Type 2. Past 4 years problem. I love guitar, keyboard and driving too. Partial pain or stiffness is always there. Please suggest me some home therapy or exercise. Thanks in advance.

Trigger finger means locked movement for all time and surgery must but your stiffness is only in morning time so not trigger finger. Do wax therapy and ultrasonic therapy for 15 days firstly five days avoid movement then start finger movement and avoid guitar and keyboard for few days avoid home remedy.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Consult after 5 days.
