Lybrate | Dr. Laxmi V Nair speaks on IMPORTANCE OF TREATING ACNE EARLY

I was diagnosed with body dysmorphobia 2 years back. I am suffering from server hair fall. My younger sister pulled my hair unknowingly since then the anxiety and condition gets worsen. At that time I have consulted a psychiatrist at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, he prescribed me Paxidep cr25 and Lonazep 0.5 for sleep problem. I continued the medicine for 3-4 months and discontinued when I felt slightly better. These days I am not feeling depressed as before but I can't go out without a cap or covering my hair. I don't want to show my baldness to anyone. This makes me worried. I think people are staring at me and feeling stage phobia type. My sister marriage is in April. I don't understand how to handle the situation. I am thinking of going to NIMHANS or AIIMS Bhubaneswar again. Please advice me.

YOu have alopecia areata and you have to apply lotions like minoxidil for hair growth. Or you can do nay of these following treatment. 1. Hair transplant Hair transplant is a minimally invasive surgical technique that transfers hair follicles taken from other parts of your body to the balding area. Known by the name of Follicular Unit Transplantation, this hair loss treatment can help to bring back the natural appearance of a fuller head of hair. Hair follicles are harvested using two procedures- follicular unit extraction and strip harvesting. Procedure can vary from 4-8 hours or more depending on the case. 2. Platelet- Rich Plasma (PRP) Platelet- Rich Plasma (PRP) is another treatment alternative that can reverse hair loss. It’s a simple non-surgical procedure that lasts about 60-90 minutes. In this form of hair treatment, the patient’s own blood cells, more specifically blood platelets are injected into the scalp. Usually 8 sittings are required with each sitting being 2 weeks apart for better results. 3. Low Level Laser (Light) Therapy (LLLT) This form of hair therapy utilises light energy of a specific wavelength and threshold to stimulate cellular activity, thereby promoting hair growth. Various controlled clinical tests have revealed its effectiveness in encouraging hair growth in both the genders.

I am 25 year old female. My hair is very rough and damage. And hair growth is very poor. And I want long hair.
To make soften the hair, you can apply fresh alovera gl over the hair/scalp for 20-30 min. Before head bath will help better. You can also apply curd soaked in methi{fenu greek seeds} paste also will help. First, you have to apply any good hair oil, like almond/olive/til/coconut or any herbal hair oil, before taking head bath will reduce the roughness. Now a days, taking frequent head bath without applying any oil also causes hair splits, rough. Atleast applying oil& to keep for 2-3 hrs before, or if possible one night before head bath will help in better way. To get hair growth, you need to cncentrate on diet you take. It should be more proteinaceous, with b vitamins, so, you need to take such related diet. Internally also, few homeo remedies will help for hair growth.

Ayurvedic Tips To Manage Athlete's Foot!

Ayurvedic Tips To Manage Athlete's Foot!

A common form of skin inflammation brought about by the fungal infection is called as Athlete's Foot and is most commonly seen among the athletes. In medical terms, this condition is called "tinea pedis". This generally starts in between the toes and gradually moves towards the toe nails, if left untreated. In the later stages, this infection has the tendency to move towards the palm region of the hands and other body surfaces, if left unchecked. Most often, this condition is referred to as the ringworm of the moccasin feet.

Statistics have shown that about 15% of the population is affected by this condition. It is important to note that men have a higher chance of contracting this contagious condition than women. Young adults or old children are most likely to take the hit for this condition.

After a serious research, the National Health Service has come out with the finding that, Athlete's foot can be transmitted from one person to another either by direct or indirect contact. Any environment that is warm and moist serves as the perfect breeding place for the fungal species to cause this condition.

Getting them treated before the condition spreads to other parts of the body is a very important step that has to be taken by the person who has been diagnosed with this disease. Instead of worrying about the condition after it has set in, a few remedial precautions can be taken to prevent the onset of this disease.

Some preventive measures are:

  1. Clean shoes and socks: The socks have to be changed at least twice a day and these must be able to absorb the sweat from the feet.
  2. Using a medicated powder: Normal talcum powder or an anti-fungal powder can be applied to the skin where the irritation prevails and this kills the fungi that might form on the surface.
  3. Precaution after swimming and going for walk: The region between the toes has to be wiped clean after swimming, bathing or going for a long walk. The basic idea is to remove the excessive moisture from the skin.
  4. Using socks and sandals: The sandals must allow some breathing space for the skin on the legs and when at home, socks without shoes can be worn.

Preventive measures help a great deal in avoiding the complications that arise out of this Athlete's foot.

My friend have pimples on his face n he tried using number of creams but still he is facing problem so please give me...
Acne or pimples is a chronic disease involving the pilosebaceous follicles. Sebaceous glands are found most abundantly on the face and scalp, though they are present on every part of the skin except the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Though the sebaceous gland is a mini organ, it is anatomically and functionally related to the hair follicle. Cutaneous disorders attributed to the sebaceous gland are really disorders of the entire pilosebaceous unit. The areas most commonly involved in acne are the face, upper chest, and back. Other less common areas include the upper arms, buttocks, and upper thighs. Acne arises from the interaction of 4 factors 1. Excess sebum production caused by androgenic stimulation of sebaceous glands; 2. Outlet obstruction of the sebaceous follicle arising from excess production of keratinocytes (the basic cell of the epidermis); 3. Increased proliferation of the bacteriaPropionibacterium acnes that normally live in the sebaceous follicle; and 4. Inflammation caused by sebum escaping into the surrounding skin. Excessive manipulation by the patient, causing the primary lesions to disappear and leaving excoriated, raw-looking marks. This is called acne excoriée and can cause scar formation. Follow a healthy lifestyle with diet rich in vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water, go for regular exercise. For best results go for homoeopathic constitutional treatment which will remove your disease from root itself.

Sir I have skin problem, my face's is totally dark with dark spot. so suggest me any treatment. Thank you.

Sir I have skin problem, my face's is totally dark with dark spot. so suggest me any treatment. Thank you.
Homoeopathic cream ANTIMARKS CREAM ( BIOVALLEY) Apply twice daily in circular fashion Lemon Juice A quick and easy solution is lemon juice. Lemons have vitamin C that can lighten dark spots on your face. It’s easy to apply. 1. Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. 2. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. 3. Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with plain water, rosewater, or honey. You can also use lime juice to get rid of black spots, applying it in the same manner as described above. 2. Buttermilk Buttermilk is also beneficial in getting rid of dark spots. Like lemon juice, it also helps fade blemishes and black spots but without causing burning sensation. 1. Take four teaspoons of buttermilk. 2. Add two teaspoons of fresh tomato juice. 3. Mix the two ingredients (both have excellent bleaching properties) and then apply. 4. Wash it off after 15 minutes. The lactic acid in milk too, will gradually reduce skin pigmentation, and brighten and tone your overall skin complexion. So, if you do not have buttermilk, simply apply soak a cotton ball in milk and dab it directly on your spots. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off Put milk on a cotton ball and dab it directly on your spots. Repeat this procedure twice daily for four to five weeks. You can also prepare a solution by mixing milk and honey and apply the solution to your dark spots, leaving it on for 10 minutes. 4. Oats Oatmeal powder is considered good for skin exfoliation. Hence, you can apply an oatmeal mask on your face and neck to remove dead skin and black spots. 1. Grind half a cup of rolled oats. 2. Add three to four tablespoons of lemon juice to make a paste. 3. Scrub it on your skin and wash it off with warm water when it dries. If it becomes messy, use a clean cloth soaked in warm water to remove the mask. Follow this treatment once or twice a week.
