Is it OK to have vaginal infection more than two years and is it easily treatable? I am 23 years old and having pain in abdomen with some discharge Urine color is yellow and bad smell in morning time.

Hello, Vaginal discharge since last 2 years in a long time and smell indicates a possible mixed vaginosis with urinary tract infection. Prolonged vaginal infection if left untreated can lead to PID.

It's been 1 year and 4 months since I got married. We are trying for the baby for the past one year. I never had issues with my periods. I consulted the gums doctor six months back as I missed my period but my urine test was negative. In 2d usg, the found a ovarian cyst on right side. With three months of FS, cyst went off and came again. Now it's been persistent for almost three + months. Doctor recommended HSG followed my MRI correlation and 3D scan. It was found that I have unicornuate uterus with non communicating rudimentary horn without cavity on left side. So I have only my right side fallopian tube working without any issues. Now my doctor gave me a oral contraceptive pill Ovral l only for 21 days. She said if the cyst is a functional cyst, it should go away with this pill. I am very concerned to take this pill as it may cause issues with getting pregnant. Already my chance is low with only one side functioning tube. So please suggest, after the pill conception will my normal cycle be returned and I can be able to get pregnant stopping the pill?

Hello, Ovral -l IS A LOW dose oral contraceptive which shall treat the cyst if its a simple cyst and if cyst is existing then ovulation is hampered , so it has to be treated first. If not with pills then you may have to get it removed laparoscopically. Follow up usg shall decide if the cyst responded or not.

Last month, my girlfriend had her periods on 27th Sep. She was supposed to have her periods on 27th Oct. She has observed the pain but the periods did not happen as she was travelling to Switzerland and she has stayed under the temperature of -5 to -7 degree for 6 days. She has not have had her periods till now. What could be the reason for this doctor? Also, on 17th of Oct we had made love, but did not have sex. But my semen was onto her under garments and it was wet. Would this be a reason. Or there might be any other reason for this?

Hello, It is suggested that she should rule out pregnancy first and if negative then she can opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones after getting an ultrasound pelvis done to check for endometrial thickness. If the symptom is repeated next cycle then she can be evaluated with a hormonal profile. Most common cause of oligomenorrhoea remains stress induced hormonal imbalances after pregnancy has been ruled out.

Hello, this could be due to inadequate estrogenisation of endometrium and hence please get your serum estradiol levels done, however this is often seen in stress related hormonal disturbances.
