Healthy Hair - Top Ayurvedic Remedies For It!

Hair is one of the most noticeable aspects of a human being, whether you are a man or a woman. However, the increasing use of chemicals and other ingredients in hair care products tends to cause more damage to hair than benefits. Ayurveda offers great solutions for healthy hair without the side effects associated with chemical related products.

Some ayurvedic tips to keep hair healthy:
Shampoo itself is a derivative of the word 'champoo', which is an Indian concept of soothing or gently massaging the scalp before washing it off. Let's look at some of the ayurvedic tips which may help you get better hair and shine and keep it healthy throughout.

1. Special ayurvedic oils for massaging on scalp - The best options are usually sesame, Brahmi and the most commonly available coconut oil. Massage it on your scalp regularly at least twice a week and leave it overnight before washing it off the next morning.

2. Make sure diet is corrected - Ensure that the food you eat is a part of a balanced diet and it is preferable to avoid junk food altogether. Stay away from carbonated sweetened beverages as well as smoking and drinking. Some of the spices and vegetables that will be helpful in restoring hair health would be:

3. Taking care of digestive or bowel issues - If you suffer from digestive or bowel related issues, then it would be wise to correct that first by the use of laxatives or other medications.
4. Taking care of pitta issues - The pitta, if aggravated, can cause hair fall. There are many techniques in ayurveda which can be used to balance it.
5. Usage of certain herbs in controlled amounts - Usage of the following herbs in controlled amounts can be very good for the health of your hair.

  • Aloe vera - Aloe vera is the new wonder drug, which is effective in treating many ailments and it is very good for skin and hair as well, whether consumed as food or applied to the hair as an extract.
  • Bhringraj - Paste made of bhringraj applied to the hair before washing can be very good for the health of the hair.
  • Methi - Another spice which can be grounded made into a paste and then applied to hair and is known to produce great results.
  • Amla - Amla is very good while being eaten as it contains vitamin C and fortifies hair health from the inside. Amla paste or extract massaged on hair is also very good for its health.

Skin tags are common, benign skin growths that look like a small, soft balloons of hanging skin. They are harmless growths that can occur on eyelids, neck, underarms, groin etc. They may occur due to obesity, hereditary, diabetes, pregnancy. Get them removed by a dermatologist if they cause irritation, discomfort or are cosmetically unappealing.

If you're suffering from acne, you're not alone. Acne is a common skin condition that happens when oil and dead skin cells clog the skin’s pores. It normally occurs on the face, chest, back, shoulders, and neck. Acne can be caused by many things: heredity, hormones, and oil production. Avoid touching your face. Dirt and bacteria on your hands can clog your pores and make acne worse if you constantly touch your face. If your skin feels irritated from acne, use a gentle, oil-free daily facial wipe to remove excess dirt and calm your skin. Do not squeeze or pop your blemishes or you may risk developing scars. Squeezing a pimple might even spread the bacteria further Wash regularly. Wash your skin using your fingertips, once in the morning and once at night. Remember to thoroughly rinse your skin with lukewarm water after washing it. Limit washing to twice a day and after you sweat. Sweating can irritate your skin. Wash your skin as soon as possible after sweating. Eat a healthy diet. Avoid meat that contains hormones and similar substances which could throw your hormones out of balance, causing acne. Instead, eat plenty of fiber, fresh vegetables and fruits. Foods rich in vitamin A, C, E, and zinc can help reduce the severity of acne through the nutrients’ anti-inflammatory properties. Apply aloe vera gel. Daily apply aloe vera gel liberally over your skin. You can find it at most drug stores. Aloe vera is a succulent plant with antibacterial properties that are effective in treating acne and reducing inflammation. It prevents bacteria from infecting acne wounds and speeds up the healing process Some people may be allergic to aloe. If a rash develops, stop using it For medication Consult online in private.

Biotin is only supplement, it has no active role in hairloss treatment. You may be suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This may also be accompanied by severe dandruff. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is a lotion and tablets. There is no other alternative. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Along with this, you can also consider platelet rich plasma therapy for faster results. Please contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.

First of all pl stop all parlour treatments. Start taking light food and clean gut by herbals for three days, then once a week. Eat salt restricted diet. Start smearing raw cold milk on face with cotton balls and massage in circular motions. Let dry and wash with cold water. Do twice. If you get time pl wash with pure rose water in between once. After one or two weeks, get next tip which will be according to response you get. It's slow but effective and safe and economic. Definitely working.

My problem is that the pimples on the face make me look ugly so you can give any tips to reduce pimples.

My problem is that the pimples on the face make me look ugly so you can give any tips to reduce pimples.
Acne can be treated easily with facewash, tablets and creams. Some people have more oilyness on the face which results in breakouts. After completing treatment for controlling the active breakouts, tablets can be stopped and creams need to be continued to prevent recurrence. Diet and lifestyle modifications are also important. Please don't do any self treatment such as over the counter Steroid creams. Don't burst the pimples with your fingers as it can result in ugly scars. The marks left behind after the pimples heal can also be treated. Please send your photos through online consult option for detailed prescription and diet advice.

Hair loss in men may be androgentic alopecia, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata and many more, though the first one is the most common. Androgenetic alopecia is a condition of baldness affecting young male patients. It is due to the action of male sex hormones on the hair follicle. It results in loss of hair from the front, sides and crown areas of the scalp. Though this condition cannot be cured once for all, therapies are available to reduce hair loss and maintain hair growth. Minoxidil, hair peptide serums, finasteride, PRP, hair transplantation are some of the therapies available. You need to have a long follow up with your dermatologist. Half- hearted efforts will not give sustained results.
