I have red eyes from 10 days. Also etching is there. And also tears falls sometimes from it.
What to do?
Itching and redness is commonly due to allergy. Do cold fomentation over the eyes, dip a clean handkerchief in cold water and keep it over closed eyes for 2 minutes.. if severe , you need to start medicines after showing to eye surgeon

My left eye have losing power. What should I do. It may solute by a specs or any need of treatment?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
My left eye have losing power. What should I do. It may solute by a specs or any need of treatment?
Hello, How much is the power? Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like wild salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

I would like to know the symptoms of red eyes and paining. The eyes goes red and start paining with water coming out continuously may I know why I am facing this problem and shall I take any eye drops for cure.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
I would like to know the symptoms of red eyes and paining. The eyes goes red and start paining with water coming out ...
Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. (6) increased blood pressure. This has known to cause redness which is also known as sub-conjunctival hemorrhage. In this regard, a complete ophthalmic evaluation and a systemic evaluation is warranted. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. You could also use a lubricant eye drop along with an anti-histamine eye drop. (3-4 times daily) hope my suggestions helped you.

I am 58 years old with Diabetic History of 15 years. During my routine check of eyesight I am told that I have catract in priliminary stage. My doctor says it is better to get operated in early stage. is this correct.

MBBS, MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
If you have minor problem in seeing then you can wait for 3-4 months and then get reviewed again. But if you delay cataract to late stages then it is difficult to handle. As you told it's in early stages and if no major visual problem then you can wait.

Diabetes predisposes the eye to a number of diseases like diabetic retinpathy- affects your retina or back of the eye. Cataract or safed motiabin - opacity in your natural lens of eye. Glaucoma or kala motia - permanent irreversible damage to nerve of your eye and if uncontrolled sugar- also to eye infections. Ptosis is the medical term for a drooping eyelid. It refers only to the upper eyelid sagging. Upper eyelid drooping can sometimes affect your vision if the drooping is severe. Ptosis is not a disease, but a symptom of another condition that must be treated like Diabetic Neuropathy,Stroke,Muscular Dystrophy,Myasthenia Gravis,Botulism,Brain Aneurysm,Brain Tumour,Intra cranial Haemorrhages,Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome,Turner Syndrome. So if we can understand the exact underlying cause of ptosis, only then it will be easy to treat it.Myself is a homoeopath and I will definitely guide you in your treatment but for that I want full case history of your problem.

bp has no concern with your glasses power unfortunately there are no natural medications to remove spectacles permanently. you can either try contact lenses or plan for refractive lasik laser surgery
