I am having tired knees most of the times, esp area around knee cap feels exhausted. Also, click sound coming from knee frequently. There has been no injury as such but had started running few months back. There is no intense pain but feeling of fatigue/tiredness. Frequently using car clutch in traffic also hurts. - have also been diagnosed with low vitamin D, taking medicine for that. Could this be Runner's knee ? What are symptoms/treatment for this.

You are just 19. Acl tear causes instability of knee joint. It leads to many problems like difficulties in running, sports etc. It may also lead to meniscus tear. If its partial tear, then physiotherapy may help. If its complete tear, then it can not heal on its own.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Wheat chapati or jowar roti or any other cereal flour contains mainly starch. Which is ultimately converted to glucose after digestion. So whatever, one eats has to be in a moderate amount. Excess of any food is not helpful in controlling blood glucose. Basically for a person with diabetes diet restriction is a must. Total calories should be based on - ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and blood glucose levels. Intake of green leafy vegetables should be more, which help in reducing the glucose levels. There are many lifestyle and dietary guidelines that can be followed: take high protein prescribed diet, have paneer, eggs and potatoe daily. Incorporate dry fruits in your diet on a daily basis. Hi can you please specify your weight any other ailment you have like diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment knee is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the knee with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold.
