You seem to be very conscious of yourself and hold yourself back. Many people have social anxiety and with conscious efforts have successfully overcome their limitations. First stop being too critical about yourself. Start to take small steps towards befriending other students around you, you may begin with just smiling at them, then wishing them. Just do this for few days. Slowly and gradually you can begin talking starting with few sentences, maintaining eye-contact is very important. Every time you have made an effort towards knowing a person, give yourself a thumps up. It may appear difficult and intimidating at first but gradually you will start enjoying others company. Isolating yourself will never solve the problem and will make you feel very lonely. If you need further help then consult a counsellor in person to explore the elements behind your shyness. All the best. Take care.

Mouth breathing is a common symptom in children with adenoid hypertrophy, if child is having hearing problem probably he is developing otitis media with effusion than adenoidectomy is advisable.

Dear Sir/madam, iam suffering from stammering problem, in normal time it is light but when speak in public like giving speeches it will be more, pls give me suggestions, that how to overcome this problem.

Dear Prasad, Welcome to lybrate. Stammering is "speaking with sudden involuntary pauses and a tendency to repeat the initial letters of words" or "say something with difficulty, repeating the initial letters of words and with sudden involuntary pauses". Stammering could be due to two reasons. First reason is Vocal cord misalignment. Second is Psychological performance anxiety. First of all you should consult an ENT Specialist and evaluate your vocal chords. If there is problem, ENT specialist will be able to correct it. If there is no problem with your vocal chords, You should consult a psychologist for stammer therapy. Take care.

I suffer from stammering problem since I was in 4 th standard. Sometimes it decreases to negligible and sometimes becomes very severe. I stammer on certain words only, like the words which have a combination of A with D and D with I and etc etc. Please suggest a way to get rid of my stammering or suggest a doctor with whom I can consult. Thanking you.

Lybrate-user. I think your stammering has more to do with your confidence and self esteem, rather than words and alphabets. May be you stammer more when you think you can't handle a situation or a problem. Also it might be an issue of inferiority complex. In any case you have to work on how you think. Be your self. Do not think more of the consequences. If you think you are correct then go ahead. Do not think low of your self. Everybody is not the same. You are unique. Respect your own self. All the best.

My voice tone is very low and somewhat girly. In open space it doesn't cover large distance. Even person sitting close enough doesn't hear my voice properly. Have this problem since last 7-8 years.

lybrate-user you have puberphonia.in which voice doesn't change post puberty. Basically you are using your voice box in a wrong way. A speech therapist will be the best person to treat you. Get in touch with a therapist to change your voice. You will really enjoy your new voice.

You need to practice more with picture books. Involve her in daily chores in kitchen and make her familiar with common things.
