My eye has 6 number of glasses? How to remove them? Any natural process. Last system is success how many? If 6or above number then laser system success?

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Sangrur
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 18 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

yes you will have to wear protective glasses while you riding. excessive mobile/laptop/ tv can cause eye strain. red eyes could be because of many reasons but commonly it is due to allergy or infection. You need to visit eye specialist to differentiate between the two as the treatment is different. Also get your eyes checked for any glass power

I have specs and my no. Is approx 3.5 ad I want to remove my specs forever and for his wat I have to do? Is laser operation okk? And what will be costing of it? I have to do it in minimum costing. So where it can be done at low cost and with good care?

Ophthalmologist
Ophthalmologist, Thane
Dear lybrate-user you can undergo Lasik workup to determine the suitability of your eyes for LASIK, based on it you can go ahead with LASIK surgery. Various options of LASIK surgery are available and it is a relatively safe procedure if you follow the post op and pre op care as adviced. Generally at a good setup it should cost you something starting from 45000/- for the procedure .Thanks.

Hello, get your eyes tested from an opthalmologist. Include the following for getting better vision: vitamins a, c, e, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. Dha is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for strengthening eye muscles: -begin by partially closing your eyes; the lids should only be halfway shut. After holding for 10-15 seconds, close your eyes very slowly. Take a few deep breaths to increase oxygen in the blood. -warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. -hold a pen at arm's length. Focus your gaze on the tip of the pen. Bring the pen closer to your nose at a slow and steady pace. Repeat this exercise 5-10 times. -concentrate your vision on the tip of your nose. Then shift your gaze to an object further away, either at arm's length or 20 feet away. Then shift your eyes back to the tip of your nose. Repeat this exercise 10 times. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Begin by look to the left-most position (without moving your head) and hold to stretch your eye muscles. Hold for 5 counts. Blink and return your gaze back to look straight in front of you. Then look to the right-most position with your gaze and hold for 5 counts. Repeat 3 times, blinking between each hold. Then, repeat this exercise looking up and then down. Do not forget about blinking. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Look up and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look up to and to your left for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your left for 5 seconds. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids.

Since you have been visited many eye hospitals and yet you don't get relief you should consult homeopathy. May be it is due to allergy. Splash you eyes with cold water several times in day. Do not touch or rub it with hand. Use clean handkerchief to wipe them. Instill homeopathic euphrasia eye drop two three times.

FPRS, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Pune
Keratoconus can be controlled and not cured c3r corneal collagen crosslinking is treatment of choice to halt progression in cases which progress. Your age is 31, and keratoconus usually stabilises by 35 or 40. If not severe, usually does not cause blindness.

My son is having astigmatism as per his school health check-up report. Is this a serious issue. What is the treatment.

MBBS, MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Ahmedabad
Its not a serious issue. But yes when a child has astigmatism he or she has to wear his glasses continously. Prescribed by an ophthalmologist. Get his eye check up done every 6 monthly. For a child dilatation is required to find out the correct amount of refractive error or exact number of glasses. And after 4 days of dilatation get a glasses done. If you notice bend in glass or broken glass. Orr head tilting by him or her. Report to the doctor.
