How Homeopathy Helps Treat Hair Loss?

Loss of hair from the scalp, one of the most common problems plaguing the world today, can be caused by a variety of factors such as genetics, nutritional deficiencies and environmental factors. There are several homeopathic medicines that are used to treat hair loss. Homoeopathic treatment focus on the cause of the disease rather than just treating the symptoms.

Common reasons that can lead to hair loss are:

  1. Heredity factors
  2. Major illness like TB, Hypothyroidism, Diabetes can lead to hair fall
  3. Hormonal imbalance such as in case of PCOS can also lead to it
  4. Childbirth
  5. Menopause
  6. Skin diseases of scalp such as fungal infections, eczema.
  7. Deficiency of vitamins and mineral
  8. Protein deficiency
  9. Severe emotional stress or grief

Hair loss can be classified as:

  1. Telogen effluvium: This is temporary hair thinning over the scalp that occurs because of changes in the growth cycle of hair. Many hair enter the resting phase at the same time, causing hair shedding and subsequent thinning.
  2. Alopecia areata: This is an autoimmune disorder where the immune cells of the body mistake the hair cells as a foreign body and start destroying them. In this pattern, the hair loss occurs in patches.
  3. Androgenic alopecia: Androgenic alopecia is a genetic condition that can affect both men and women. Men with this condition, is called male pattern baldness It's characterized by a receding hairline and gradual disappearance of hair from the crown and frontal scalp. Women with this condition, called female pattern baldness, don't experience noticeable thinning until their 40s or later. Women experience a general thinning over the entire scalp, with the most extensive hair loss at the crown.

The various homeopathic treatments for hair loss are:

  1. Fluoric acid: Medicine for hairloss in patches.
  2. Phosphorus: Phosphorus is another homeopathic treatment that is used to treat hair loss. It promotes hair growth in spots where hair loss has occurred.
  3. Kalium carbonicum: This is used for brittle and thinning of hair, as it enhances hair growth. It is usually recommended for people with various forms of alopecia.
  4. Lycopodium: This is prescribed for people who suffer from premature baldness and greying hair
  5. Natrum mur: This homeopathic remedy is made from sodium chloride and is used to treat hair problems resulting from skin complications and in women having hair loss after childbirth. It treats dandruff and hair disorders due to hormonal imbalances.
  6. Sulphur: It is an excellent homeopathic remedy to treat hair loss as it promotes hair growth. It should be considered in cases of long standing skin diseases and is specially indicated for hair loss in diabetics. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

Juvenile Arthritis - How Homeopathy Can Help You?

Juvenile Arthritis - How Homeopathy Can Help You?

Inflammatory, chronic and systemic ailments can cause joint or connective tissue damage throughout the body along with fever, rash, hepato-spleenomegaly and arthritis in children. Juvenile arthritis is a persistent inflammatory disease that stays for at least 6 weeks and starts at an early age of less than 16 years with no particular cause detected for the same. This is more commonly found in among girls and is associated with physical as well as emotional stress and triggers any or a combination of symptoms such as irritability, listlessness, discomfort in walking, loss of weight without any apparent reason, loss of appetite, fever, swelling and pain in joint regions. In case your child is suffering from these problems, homeopathy can be of good help.

Homeopathy treats a patient as a whole along with his or her pathological conditions. The homeopathic medicines are prescribed after a complete evaluation and case-analysis of an individual that includes the clinical history of the child, physical as well as mental constitution. Some of the most commonly opted homeopathic medicines for treating juvenile arthritis are-

  1. Abrotanum: If your child is having trouble in moving causing marasmus of lower parts along with lameness and soreness, which is worse in the morning then this medicine, can help him or her. It is also effective in curing marasmus in children with remarkable emaciation, particularly of the leg where the skin is flabby and swung loose in multiple folds. Sometimes these symptoms are also added with constipation and diarrhoea where this medicine can be opted for.
  2. Aconite: In case the arthritis is causing drawing and tearing pains along the limbs with violent and acute pulling in the joint regions and bones, then Aconite can help. This medicine is normally recommended for acute arthritis in young people who lead a sedentary life with plethoric habit.
  3. Apis: When the juvenile arthritis causes swelling in the knee area with stringing soring pain then Apis can mitigate the pain. The pain can spread in the back portion and limbs with tired, bruised feeling and numbness in hands and finger tips. Sometimes hives are also formed with oedematous swellings along with intolerable itching as a symptom of juvenile arthritis. Apis is prescribed in all such cases.

If your child is suffering from this painful discomfort, then you must take him or her to a certified homeopathic doctor instead of administering the medicine without professional advice. With persistent treatment, your child will be able to lead a normal, healthy life like his or her peers and be completely relieved from the suffering.

How Homeopathy Helps In Handling Migraine!

How Homeopathy Helps In Handling Migraine!

Migraine is a type of headache which can occur in varied intensities; the pain resulting from a migraine is pulsating and throbbing. This sort of a headache is usually accompanied by extreme sensitivity to sounds and light as well as severe nausea. One feature that significantly differentiates between migraine and any other type of headache is that the headache resulting from migraines usually develops on any one side of the head.

Causes of Migraine

The exact cause behind migraine is yet to be fully understood. Migraines are thought to be a result of combination of genetic and environmental factors. In majority of cases, migraines tend to run in families . There are few well known trigger factors for migraine. These are – stress, exertion, gastric disturbances, eating heavy food stuff, taking alcoholic drinks, coffee intake, hormone changes in females.

Symptoms of Migraine

The most characteristic symptom of migraine is one sided headache mostly of violent, throbbing and pulsating in nature. The accompanying symptoms include nausea, vomiting, blurring of vision, flashes of light before eyes, double vision, light/sound sensitivity, confusion and weakness.

Homeopathy is not in the favour of using temporary treatments like popping a painkiller to alleviate the throbbing, pulsating and often intolerable pain caused from migraine. Homeopathy aims at going deep down into the root of the problem and entirely removes the tendency of any patient to be shot with migraine headaches every now and then. That is why homeopathic medications may take some time in showing results. They do not offer any temporary relief like most allopathic treatments do. On the other hand, homeopathic medicines offer a long term relief and can cure the migraine problem permanently.

Though homeopathic treatments vary from person to person, there are a few homeopathic medicines, which are very effective in relieving migraine headaches.

  1. Belladona for throbbing migraine attack: Belladonna is one of the most effective homeopathic medicines for treating migraine headache that is throbbing and violent in the temporal region of the head. If pain gets triggered without any prior prodromal symptoms and worsens by noise, touching and light, then Belladona is potent in removing the pain. This medicine is also good if you are unable to lie down because of pain and if your face turns red and hot when you are struck with excruciating pain. Have a few drops of Belladona and apply a mild pressure to feel better.
  2. Glonoine for migraine with congestive headache: When you are struck with congestive headache, a rush of blood reaches the head region causing redness in face and head area with intolerable throbbing pain. You may even feel shocks around the head which get aggravated when exposed to heat or sunlight. It becomes impossible to tolerate any kind of warmth, and you may feel a bit relieved when you uncover the head. If you are affected with congestive headache, then consuming Glonoine can be of immense help.
  3. Natrum Mur for migraine from grief and stress: This medicine is widely used for alleviating migraine caused from stress and grief. Natrum Mur is also effective in alleviating anaemic headaches, which mostly affect young women. It often leads to temporary sightlessness, and the pain feels as if thousands of small hammers are being throbbed within the brain. The pain tends to rise up after through the day, and the patient may feel better after sunset. If the pain gets triggered when the eye is strained, then Natrum Mur is the medication for you.

As you see, homeopathic treatments are great for reducing migraine attacks and your doctor will be able to guide you better on this matter. Homoeopathy treats each patient of Migraine by individualization and thus treats the root cause of migraine which could be Sun, stress, exertion etc.

Homeopathic Treatment - Factors That Decide The Pace!

Homeopathic Treatment - Factors That Decide The Pace!

The most frequently asked question by prospective or new homeopathic patients is related to the time required for recovery. Most patients are worried about the length of time involved in homeopathic treatment to make them fit and fine again.

Homeopathic treatment does not deal with any independent or isolated symptoms. It helps in analyzing and assessing a complex entity involving both unknown and known indicators. Homeopathic healing has to be given time to happen at its own pace. Unconscious and conscious participation of the patients is badly needed in this treatment.

  • Vitality level: This is the most important factor which contributes to making an effective homeopathic forecasting. There are two types of vitality-high and low. Low vitality people have the attitude of breaking down under stress and tension. They are largely oversensitive and unresponsive to challenges. On the other hand, people with high vitality have the tendency to bounce back within no time. They are positive, strong and are ready to respond even under a stressful situation.
  • Social background and nature: People who are highly expressive and respond to their body signals can avail the benefits of homeopathic treatment to its most. In fact, these people have a good chance to get cured within a short time span. On the other hand, people who have the tendency to suppress their emotion or who are highly intellectual may have to invest more time in this treatment. This is because life is dynamic and people who exhibit their dynamism in life often respond fast to homeopathic medicines.
  • Severity and type of disease: The intensity and the nature of the disease consume a great deal of time in homeopathic treatment. For example, hereditary disorders take a longer time to heal. In such cases prediction and forecasting become a bit difficult.
  • The duration for which the symptoms have been persisting: Homeopathic treatment follows a basic rule which states that 'It takes a month for each year of existence of a condition to treat it.' However, in the case of a chronic condition the duration of treatment might be a little longer than predicted by the above rule.

Last month I had my periods on 21_2_2017. I had sex on 17th day. I.e. 9_3_2017. Still now I didn't get my periods. I'm getting breast pain, back ache, headache, sometimes irritating. Does this are the symptoms of pregnancy? Please tell me.

CGO, BHMS (Silver Medalist)
Homeopath, Noida
Hello, Priyanka you have not mentioned your normal menstrual cycle duration. Let us presume that your cycle is of 28 days. Also the date mentioned of last menses is 21 Feb.(Add 28 days to 21 feb= 20 March) To calculate ovulation date ,subtract half of 28 days from your next due date. ie. 20 March -14= 6 March Pregnancy is only possible during the five days before ovulation through to the day of ovulation. These six days are the ‘fertile window’ in a woman’s cycle. So Pregnancy is only possible if you had sex on 1,2,3,4,5,6 March. You had sex on 9 march so your chances of pregnancy are rare if I presume that your Menses cycle was of 28 days I hope that answers your doubt. Early signs of Pregnancy: Every woman is different. So are her experiences of pregnancy. Not every woman has the same symptoms or even the same symptoms from one pregnancy to the next. Also, because the early symptoms of pregnancy often mimic the symptoms you might experience right before and during menstruation, you may not realize you're pregnant. 1) After conception, the fertilized egg attaches itself to wall of the uterus. This can cause one of the earliest signs of pregnancy -- spotting and, sometimes, cramping. That's called implantation bleeding. It occurs anywhere from six to 12 days after the egg is fertilized. The cramps resemble menstrual cramps, so some women mistake them and the bleeding for the start of their period. The bleeding and cramps, however, are slight. Besides bleeding, a woman may notice a white, milky discharge from her vagina. 2) Breast Changes: Breasts may become swollen, sore, or tingly a week or two later. Or they may feel heavier or fuller or feel tender to the touch. The area around the nipples, called the areola, may also darken. 3) Fatigue Feeling very tired is normal in pregnancy, starting early on. A woman can start feeling unusually fatigued as soon as one week after conceiving. 4) Morning Sickness or nausea early in the morning on waking. 5) Missed Period: This is the most prominent symptom. 6) Other symptoms: Frequent urination, constipation, Mood swings, headache and backache.

I am 66 years old sr citizen. My blood pressure remains 120/85 and taking Losium50 one tablet daily. However now a days my BP shoot up to 150/95. What precaution should I take so that BP remains as above viz 120/85.

CGO, BHMS (Silver Medalist)
Homeopath, Noida
Hello, Blood pressure refers to the force exerted on artery walls by the blood flowing through them. The narrower and stiffer your arteries become, the higher your blood pressure goes. Normal blood pressure is below 120/80. BP higher than 130/90 is called Hypertension. You can have high blood pressure for months to years without any symptoms, but the damage caused by hypertension can eventually lead to severe health problems. The health problems from high blood pressure are the result of two major health stages. First, the blood vessels in your body narrow and stiffen. Second, and as a result of this, there is a decreased blood flow to different organs and body parts such as the heart, the brain, the kidneys, the eyes, and the nerves. This can lead to severe complications if left unchecked. 1)Monitor your blood pressure regularly. 2)Exercise: Exercise for at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity at least 5 days per week 3)Manage stress through meditation and yoga or some hobby. 4)Cut down on alcohol or smoking. 5)Limit your caffeine intake. Caffeine causes an increase in heart rate and blood pressure. Drink no more than 2 cups tea per day. 6)DASH Diet: This is a medically designed and studied diet plan focusing on reducing blood pressure. The diet is high in vegetables, fruits, low-fat dairy products, whole grains, and lean proteins. It is also low in sodium, added-sugars, and fats. 7)Restrict your Salt intake to not more than WHO recommended dose of 1500 mg per day. 8)Eat Nuts: Eat foods such as almonds, flax seeds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, lentils, peas, and kidney beans. 9)Most important take your medicines on time.

Hello, Chicken pox virus leads to the formation of painful itchy blisters all over the body. Sometimes, these blisters can leave scars. 1)Apply vitamin E oil. Vitamin E oil is considered a natural antioxidant. As such, it may help to speed up the healing process of the skin. This could potentially help your chickenpox scars fade. 2) Apply lemon juice, leave for 10 min and then rinse your face. 3) Apply natural honey. 4) Use neem water to prevent further infection.

Hello, You may be pregnant. To rule out pregnancy you may go for a Ptregnancy test. Pregnancy tests: There are 2 types of Pregnancy tests: 1)Urine test: It is recommended to do a Urine Pregnancy test till the first day of your Missed period. 2)Blood test: This is more accurate than the urine test. This can detect pregnancy as early as 7-12 days after conception. Early Signs of Pregnancy: Every woman is different. So are her experiences of pregnancy. Hello Faisal, Gradual weight gain is always advisable and an increase in 500 kcal per day can result in a 0.5 kg per week increase in one’s body weight. For healthy weight gain, you need to add more muscle rather than fat to your frame and that can only come from wholesome foods. Keep the following basic principles in mind if you wish to gain weight in a healthy way: • Increase your appetite by eating more to gain weight. But do it step-by-step and not by stuffing yourself too much at one go. Add one extra chapatti or more rice than you normally consume, or you even start with fruits by eating an extra one every day. • Carbs are needed to gain weight but include healthier options like banana, potato, mango, whole grains, rice, etc. instead of sugar-rich foods, chocolates, and other junk foods. • In order to increase your muscle mass, it is essential to do weight training 4-5 times a week for an hour. Consume protein-rich foods after you workout to increase muscle mass and eat good fats like nuts and seeds,2 eggs, milk shake ,bowl of chana salad, paneer wrap or chicken . • DIET CHART: • Breakfast: 10 almonds, Banana milkshake, Cheese grilled sandwich in multigrain bread or stuffed parantha. • Midmorning: Fruit, Glass of sweet lassi. • Lunch: 3 chapatis,Dal ,Mixed vegetable containing potatoes,Paneer or Non-veg (Chicken),fruitened curd or fruit cream. • Glass of Milk with bournvita or Whey protein and vegetable sandwich, chicken tortilla • Dinner: Same as lunch .Add a dessert like fruit custard or Kheer. Incase you want medicinal help ,consult me privately online through Lybrate.

Hello lybrate-user, If you wish to feel energetic, less slee[py and perform well in the coming board exams ,follow the following tips: EXAM TIPS 1)Eat a healthy breakfast every morning. You should have a goal of eating breakfast every single morning, even if you're not feeling hungry or are running out of time. Eating breakfast will not only give you more energy in the mornings, but it has been shown to lower stress. You shouldn't eat anything too greasy or heavy; just eat enough to make yourself feel powered up. Examples are: A bowl of milk and cornflakes, one banana, 2 boiled eggs and a grilled vegetable sandwhich. 2)Eat every 3-4 hours. Even if you have an incredibly busy schedule, you can always take a minute to eat a snack, especially if you have one on hand. Instead of eating three big meals that leave you stuffed, have three medium-sized meals along with two snacks, one in between breakfast and lunch, and one between lunch and dinner, and see how much your energy levels improve. Examples are: Nuts like almond, raisins, walnuts. Flavoured yoghurt, bowl of fruit or a glass of fresh fruit juice, berries. 3)Avoid eating oily and heavy meals, rice as these foods need a lot of energy to get digested and leaves you sluggish. Instead eat steamed food like Idli, poha, upma, multigrain sandwich with juice. 4)Drink lots of water. It's important to stay hydrated throughout the day. Even mild dehydration can lead you to be fatigued, so wherever you go, make sure to bring a water bottle. Drink atleast 7-8 glasses water. 5)Limit your caffeine intake after noon. Though caffeine can really boost your energy levels during a few hours after you drink it, if you have caffeine after noon or even in the evening, it will disrupt your sleep. 6)Go outside. Take a break and go outside, breathe some fresh air, and let the sun hit your face. Spending just 20-30 minutes outside each day will have a dramatic impact on your energy level. 7)Follow the 50: 10 rule: Study for 50 min and give yourself a break for 10 min to assimilate what you have read. Also take a power nap immediately after lunch as you feel most drowsy then 8)Smell lavender. Have a lavender plant or lavender lotion on hand so you can smell it in moments of need or when stressed out. It's been known to help students perform better on tests, and it has the power to make you more energetic throughout the day. 9).Destress: Listen to music, take a 15 min short refreshing walk in the garden nearby, splash cold water on your face.

Hello Hitesh, Boys grow in height till the age of 21 years after which vertical growth stops due to fusion of growing ends of bones. You may follow the below instructions to gain few more inches. 1) A well balanced diet which is rich in calcium, phosphorus, iodine and magnesium is extremely important for proper growth. For these minerals to be assimilated in our body we must refrain from junk food and food that contains trans-fats as these interfere with the absorption of the minerals and nutrients which are needed for our growth. Role of calcium for healthy bones cannot be ignored, so have at least 2 glasses milk, curd, paneer . 2) A good night’s sleep is absolutely essential not only for our overall well being but our growth also. It is due to the fact that the growth hormone does its job of thickening and lengthening your bones during deep sleep. 3) Exercise: Tadasana: Also known as the mountain pose is very effective as , this asana helps in lengthening your spine. Also try swinging on Monkey ladder. 4) Sunlight is one of the most important sources of vitamin D. Vitamin D contributes to your height in the greatest way because of its effect on bone growth. Exposure to sunlight allows your body to get the required dose of Vitamin D. Incase to wish a proper Height gain treatment with Homoeopathy, feel free to consult with me online through Lybrate.

Hello, You may develop a rash due to an allergy, contact with an irritant or an eruptive fever like measles and chickenpox. If you believe the rash is from an allergy or an irritant and appears mild, you can try a home remedy. However, if the rash looks red, is itchy or uncomfortable, accompanied by nasal allergy and fever and seems to be spreading all over your body, you should consult a dermatologist. Natural ways to soothe rash are as follows: 1)Cold compress: Wrap ice in a soft cloth and apply over the rash. Remember not to apply direct ice on skin. 2)If the rash develops due to an allergic reaction, you can take a bath or shower in cold water .This can help to soothe any redness or discomfort. Change into some loose clothing made from pure cotton. 3)Tea tree extract has been shown to be effective against a wide range of microorganisms, such as candida and staphylococcus aureus. This treatment option might work best for a rash from a mild fungal infection. 4)Apply calamine lotion. Calamine lotion can help to sooth and calm your rash. 5)Take an over the counter antihistaminic medicine if all above methods does not help.

Hello Sandy, Ways to prevent Hairloss: Hair loss has multiple potential causes, including diet, mineral deficiency, medications, severe stress or illness, pollution, and your genetics 1) Limit use of Hair dryers, curlers, straighteners,Tight hairstyles, perming, bleaching, straightening. 2) Avoid too frequent shampooing or dye 3) Use a Mild shampoo. Checking the ingredients in your shampoo can give you a good idea of whether or not it is mild. Avoid anything with sulfate, parabens, sulfonate. Instead look for Isethionate or Glucoside to be the first ingredient after water. You should try not to wash your hair every day, since shampoo can strip hair of its natural oils . 4) Go for a soft brush made from natural fibres.Do not comb on wet hair. Never dry hair with a towel vigorously as it weakens the roots. 5) A scalp massage with a nourishing oil (such as coconut, rosemary, lavender, or almond oil) warms the skin and boosts circulation so the cells in the follicles get plenty of nutrients which in turn maximise hair growth potential. Massage your scalp in small circles with the tip of your fingers for about five minutes every day. 6) There are some vitamins and minerals that can be especially helpful in promoting healthy hair and thus preventing hair loss.Get plenty of Iron and Proteins.

But it is not going completely, only changing it's intensity. It is creating flakes on skin, around 3 to 5 mm in size. Also it is spread on ear outer skin. Suggest effective treatment method.

Hello, Dandruff is an infection of scalp due to P.ovale. Dandruff is a common chronic scalp condition marked by flaking of the skin on your scalp. Measures to combat dandruff: 1) use an antidandruff shampoo like selsun, every sunday for 4 weekends. 2) eat vitamin b and zinc supplement. 3) manage stress. 4) do not oil your scalp, but maintain cleanliness of scalp by shampooing twice a week and rinse hair properly after shampoo. Revert back if further help needed. Incase you wish proper medicinal help you may consult me online through Lybrate.

Hello, You may develop a rash due to an allergy, contact with an irritant, or exposure to certain chemicals or solutions. If you believe the rash is from an allergy or an irritant and appears mild, you can try the following measures: 1) Wash the skin with cold water or put ice wrapped in cloth over the rash. 2) Apply a soothing agent like Lactocalamine. 3) If you have a rash caused by a fungal infection, such as jock itch, athlete's foot, or ring worm, then using a tea tree oil ointment might help. 4) If you develop the rash due to an allergic reaction, you can treat the rash by taking an oral over-the-counter antihistamine like Allegra. Incase your rash still persists you may consult me through Lybrate.
