Doctor, when I stand up with closing my legs their my knees are touching one another. I mean there is no GEP (space) between my both knees. I want to join Indian army and in Indian army space is required between both knees. How I got that space. Tell any type of yoga to fix this. Pls help.

Dear Deepak, Namaskar, You seem to have Genu Valgum ( Knock Knees )....I wish u had sent your photograph in standing for my visual assessement...This is correctible only by surgery at this age of 18 yr.s...No Yoga OR exercise can help correcting thr deformity..... Take care.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Doctor, I have a sharp poking pain in my right knee. My xray report states reduction in joint space osteophytes seen. I also have continuous pain in the neck and my head too hurts sometimes. I have consulted and an orthopedic and he has stated that I should take vissco supplementation. Please help.

Dear patient as you've mentioned that you've got reduction in the joint space and also there are osteophytes seen, this states why you're suffering from pain and discomfort. First of all you have to convince yourself that the treatment is lengthy and mostly active. I would suggest you to do some active self stretching followed by active rom exercises for each joint individually. Though you haven't mentioned anything about the type of work that you do because lifestyle plays a major role in deciding the prognosis of the disease. For quick pain relief you can always trust hot fomentation at home or you can visit nearest physiotherapy clinic. Try sitting in leg suspended position more and more. Though this will induce swelling in the knee but it'll subside once you do limb elevation and ice massage. Wearing the knee caps will also be a great help. Back Pain Advice…. Hot Fomentation x twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction. Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x twice daily. Bhujang Asana x twice daily. Back Stretching. Neck Advice Neck Exercises. Neck Stretching. Postural Correction. Shoulder Shrugs frequent Breaks at work Use cervical pillow Use Back Support. Self Massage the back of neck.

Hi there are multiple causes for shoulder pain like. Muscular, tendonitis, ligament tear etc. It will be good if you visit physiotherapist or orthopaedic doctor for diagnosis. Sir, After running Hyderabad 10K in Nov 2014, my right Achilles tendon started paining very severely. There has been slight swelling too. The pain has still not subsided and there is still slight swelling.

You can take cold therapy for this,alternatively u can also immerse your feet in a bucket of ice cold water for few mins.Do some ankle stretching exercises,and use a soft heel pad in the shoes.If it doesnt get better see a physiotherapist.

Back exercises. Many people go to physiotherapists with back pain. Here are two exercises that help to relieve pain and reduce stiffness in the back: •Dear, 1. Lie on your back with both of your legs straight. In this position, bring your left knee up close to your chest. Hold this position for 10 seconds. Return your leg to the straight position. Repeat with the right leg. •2. Stand up with your arms on your side. Bend to the left side while slowly sliding your left hand down your left leg. Come back up slowly and relax. Repeat with the right side of your body.

Dear knee replacement surgery do not have 100% results and u are 28 yrs old only So i believe u should first try every treatment before surgery. Dear Lybrate User, As per your complains it may be due to Osteoarthritis OR Rheumatism OR Gout or Degenerative changes. For conformation of this you need to under go some investigations. Initially avoid yogurt, curt, excessive spicy & slaty foods, fast food & junk food, cold water/milk, cold drinks, avoid sprouted pulses like mung-chana etc. Don't sit directly at floor. Have hot fomentation on Joints & painful area, do small exercises of joints, Took proper sun bath, fruits & vegetables except all beans & pulses. U need ayurvedic panchkarma treatment. Your tiredness may be due to deficiency of vitamins & trace elements OR as per your age it may be due to Menopausal syndrome of body due to faulty life style and dietary habits.
