Dear lybrate-user Neck pain at this young age is usually due to any injury or poor posture. U need to correct your posture e.g. Sit straight while studying, avoid supporting your neck on head while reading, etc. Search Computer ergonomics on internet, for better posture while using computer. If not corrected, then get CBC, ESR done. Kindly consult me in private, so that I can discuss your problem in detail and prescribe you medicines, as I can't write any medicine here. Thank you. Get well soon.

I am 30 years old. When I was using mobile I am getting severe neck pain upto shoulders. If I use my mobile less time there is no pain. How to overcome it because I will do most of work with mobile.

Physiotherapist, Bangalore
* too much of stooping posture esp while texting on phone causes neck pain hence avoid that. * start isometric exercises for your neck and strengthening exercises for your legs - consult physiotherapist for this. * electrotherapy required - consult physiotherapist for this. * heat pad/ cold pack application helps a lot to redue spasm. * low impact aerobic exercise like swimming helps a lot to strengthen the weak muscles * physical stretching exercises such as yoga helps in relaxation too. * practice healthy sleep habits. * avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine - it slows down the healing.

What is diabetes, how we come to know about it and what precautions should we have to take to control diabetes.
Hello, diabetes is a metabolic disorder affecting carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism and both small and large blood vessels, with persistent hyperglycemia. In the long run it damages eyes (retina), nerves, kidney, heart and causing problems with lower limbs. It is caused because of either lack of insulin or resistance to its action (t2 dm) or total absence of insulin as in t1 dm. T2 diabetes is a preventable condition, by adapting modified life style one can prevent it. Modified life style means regular exercise, maintaining near normal weight, avoiding smoking and alcohol and eating a healthy diet.

I have h very common problem of hair fall please suggest me something for it because it is very irritating.

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
I have h very common problem of hair fall please suggest me something for it because it is very irritating.
Hair fall can be associated with pernicious anaemia, hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease, nutritional deficiency, diabetes, stress. These have to be evaluated. You also have to make a lot of lifestyle changes. Correct your diet. Consume plenty of pulses, legumes, sprouts, grams, soya and nuts. If you r nonvegetarian, have meat, fish, milk and milk products in plenty. Drink lots of water. Avoid stressing over your hair fall since dopamine released can decrease hair further. Stay away from chemicals like hair dyes, bleaches. Avoid straighteners and hot combs. Overwashing and overshampooing can make your hair fall. Wash your hair twice a week and shampoo on the same day. Use mild shampoos. Massage scalp thoroughly to increase blood circulation. Towel dry hair, do not use blow dryers. Make sure not to sleep with wet damp hair. Comb hair regularly before going out. Protect your hair from sun. Stay away from alcohol and caffeinated drinks like coffee and cola since they produce antioxidants which damage free radicals. Exercise regularly for it promotes blood flow and enhances healthy, shiny hair growth. Yoga and meditation help destress. You vil need to take biotin tablets everyday after breakfast. You vil also need medications and treatment.

Hi, The dark colouration on the folds like private parts, armpits, neck happens due to internal cause specially hormones which an important role. It's good to keep your skin healthy, white and glowing by proper diet intake: -Increase your Vitamin C intake. This enhances skin color and suppleness. This will help keep your skin strong by maintaining its basic support structure—collagen. You can increase Vitamin C intake by eating more foods that contain Vitamin C. This includes citrus like lemon, orange, gooseberry, etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, can notaloupe, and green peas. -Eat more Vitamin A. Since your skin is basically composed of Retinol, which is Vitamin A, this will help keep your skin healthy and strong. Foods that are high in Vitamin A include nonfat milk, and egg yolks. You can also get Vitamin A by eating foods that are high in beta carotene, which will help minimize the effects of sun damage to your skin. These include carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce. -Minimize your exposure to sunlight and pollution. Apply sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 whenever you are outdoors. UVA/UVB rays are known to be harmful to your skin because they slow down your body's ability to repair damaged skin cells and clear dead ones. Pollution is also a major cause of acne and dull skin tone. -Drink water to stay hydrated. Invest in a personal water bottle and keep it with you throughout the day. -Exercise daily for 30-60 minutes. Doing so will help you de-stress and let your body detoxify. Apply homoeoapthic Medisynth's Witch Hazel cream over the areas.

Hi, If you’re aiming to gain some strength and build muscle, you must follow the points mentioned below: 1.Start exercising. If you’re a beginner, focus on bodyweight exercises like push up, pull up and squat. The basic push up and chin up are invaluable exercises you can do with very little equipment. Increase their difficulty by adding reps or affixing weights to your legs. 2.Consume a balanced diet. It's important to eat big meals to fuel muscle growth while you're training. You’ll need to eat healthy, whole foods that will nourish and restore your muscles. Consume all types of fruits, vegetables, grains, oils and dairy products. 3.Take adequate rest. Many people take this step lightly, but it's absolutely essential when it comes to gain strength. That means you won't be able to work out as hard or lift as much as you otherwise would, not to mention you'll be more prone to injury if you're feeling sleepy. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night, possibly more depending on your individual needs, during heavy workout periods. 4.Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chicken breast, egg whites, fish, pulses provide you all the protein you need without containing any unnecessary fat. 5.Focus on compound movements. Compound movements are those which engages more than one muscle group. Exercises like bench press, squat, dead lift are great examples of compound exercises to gain strength quickly. 6.Lift heavy. If your main aim is to gain strength, you’ll need to lift heavy weights in the gym and thus, lower the repetitions of your sets. Moderate-rep sets are important when training for muscle size. However, to build strength, you're going to have to train with heavier weights, meaning you'll do fewer reps. 7.Limit cardio to once or twice per week. Cardio exercises like running, swimming, and biking are great ways to keep your endurance good and your circulation healthy. However, they aren't the best exercises you can do if your goal is to gain strength. Weight training requires loads of energy, and if yours has already been used up by a long run or bike ride, you won't have enough left over to give weight training your best shot. Limit cardio to once or twice per week so your energy reserves are ready to expend on building strength.

Hi, Take 2-3 tsf of Dandronil powder and add water to make a fine paste. Apply this to the scalp and take head bath after 30 mins. Do this twice a week initially for 2-3 weeks and later once a week for another 4 weeks. Later use it once a month regularly as dandruff problem cannot be cured completely; it can only be controlled. Apply Kusuma Keshavardhini Taila to the scalp every day at night to arrest hair fall.
