My boyfriend is suffering from delusions of persecution & is on treatment for substance induced psychotic disorder since an year now. He's not abusing any substance now & he's not scared of people anymore but his delusion on me has not gone away still. He thinks i've drugged him & i'm the cause of all his suffering. He's uncomfortable meeting me. This illness has ripped our relationship apart. He stays in mumbai & I had to leave mumbai because he was totally scared of me. I'm in kolkata. Now the problem is he can't stay with me but can't be away too. He talks to me everyday & we have a platonic relationship. The intensity of his delusion isn't as strong as before though. My question is'will he never realize his delusions? is there any hope? he's suffering from psoriasis too now. How can I contribute in his wellbeing?

Usually drug-induced psychosis fortunately has a two-year duration and will subside on its own. It is good he is on treatment though which will make it easier. Even the geographical distance between you two will give him the space and time to work on the issues since he is blaming you for his self-induced condition. He needs counseling to sort out his distortion with your involvement and come to terms with his contribution and the addiction. Most addicts have a problem accepting the seriousness of their problem and use denial to blame other people and factors for their plight. He needs to sort this out first. You just have to be assuring to him and talk like normal and that you are not guilty of any wrong doing. There is no point in getting into a slanging match while denying it. If that happens, just keep quiet and say that it is up to him to believe you or not. I also think that if he does not work or resolve his problem, you may have to take a call about the future of this relationship from your side at least. You may go about it as gently as possible but the hard reality is that there is something wrong to begin with and unless that is worked up on and dealt with, with some guarantees that that will not recur as a permanent problem in the future, you could be looking at letting him go. If you still want to pursue the relationship, please get involved in his recovery to understand the implications and the extent he has resolved the addiction problem and the psychosis. Sometimes the chemical could have induced an underlying predisposition to the psychosis. Then it is a different situation all together. You must also work on why you were attracted to such a personality, and if that moots some serious work, please do so for your own good, whether you make it with him or not.

How Homeopathy Helps Manage Cold?

Cold is one of the most common diseases in the world. It is a communicable disease, mainly occurring during seasonal change, even though it is not chronic in nature. And homeopathy has the most effective medicines which treat common cold without the side effects.

Read on to know which are those:

  1. Natrum mur: This medicine is effective for a runny nose, with initially clear snot thickening after a period of 24-48 hours.
  2. Gelsemium: Gelsemium is advisable for the known symptoms of common cold such as headache, fever, fatigue, drowsiness, shivers, etc.
  3. Eupatorium perf: This medicine is effective in case of recurring thirst, sore muscles and bones, and immense headache that get worse on any kind of movement.
  4. Arsenicum iod: If you are experiencing continuous sneezing with burning sensation and a nasal discharge, this is the medicine you should take.
  5. Aconite: This homeopathic medicine is recommended when the most preliminary signs of common cold appear, such as getting thirsty frequently and being overly-anxious.
  6. Belladonna: Belladonna is for more severe signs of cold, such as high fever and persistence of a throbbing headache.
  7. Ferrum phos: This medicine is also given at the preliminary stage, when the onset is slow, with mild fever, which gets worse especially with the approach of night.
  8. Pulsatilla: When you have a nose with dense discharge and blocked ears, remember that these symptoms may worsen at night. This is the medicine best suited to your cold in such a situation.

It is also effective for headaches, blocked nose, body-aches, and nausea as results of the cold. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

Suppose chicken pox has spread from one person to another, when it starts showing?
Chickenpox usually stop appearing by the seventh day, though they may stop as early as the third day. It usually takes 10–14 days for all the blisters to be scabbed over and then you are no longer contagious.

Dear lybrate user. PHIMOSIS is a congenital narrowing of the opening of the foreskin so that it cannot be retracted. Phimosis is a very common problem. In most of the cases you can clear the problem yourself. Phimosis could cause moderate to severe pain while having vaginal intercourse. Apply oil on your foreskin and on the glans. Move the foreskin forward and back slowly without hurting you much. Because the oil is lubricant, it will be easier than without oil. Do this forward and back movement 20 times several times in a day. Repeat the same every day for around one month. You will get the elasticity and you will be able to retract the foreskin completely. In case if there is no result from the above massage, you can always go for a minor surgical procedure called circumcision. Take care.

Balanitis is an inflammation of the head (the glans) and foreskin of the penis. It generally affects uncircumcised males. These are men who have a foreskin, which is the "hood" of soft skin that partially covers the head of the penis. In balanitis, the head and foreskin become red and inflamed. In circumcised men, who lack a foreskin, these symptoms only affect the tip of the penis. The inflammation can be due to infection, harsh soaps, or failure to properly rinse soap off while bathing. Gentle retraction of the foreskin daily and soaking in warm water to clean penis and foreskin is essential part of treatment. homoeopathic treatment cures balanitis completely. you can consult me online for homoeopathic treatment without side effects.

Hello doctor, My wife had Umbilical Hernia operation through Laparoscopic in 2015. Out of 4 holes 3 holes are closed. But in the main hole pus is coming now. She had antibiotics and put cream in the hole. No pain there. But still puz is coming. Can you please advise me how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

DNB (General Surgery), MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Kurnool
Hi. Pus has to be sent for Culture and Sensitivity. Appropriate antibiotic will be known. If she is given suitable antibiotic, pus will come down. She needs daily cleaning and dressing. Wish her speedy recovery. Regards.
