I am 30 weeks pregnant and two days ago I had gas problem. My doc prescribed pantop and duvadilan. It helped with gas but then I started feeling pain in my naval area. My doc said I had umbilical hernia. It's quite painful in my case but she says it cannot be cured as I am pregnant. Also she examined me internally and says baby has come down a little bit and prescribed rest for two weeks. I have following queries 1. I am doing very less physical activity and mostly lying on bed with pillow under my feet. Can this help in umbilical hernia. 2. I am bothered by the pain at night and cannot sleep properly. Also I am quite afraid of this hernia and how it might impact my baby. Can it be cured on its own. What all shall I avoid or do in order to cure it. 3. My doc says that the pains that I had was not because of gas and should have felt like labour pains. I am not sure how to distinguish the hernia pain and labour pain. Also please let me know how common is hernia during pregnancy? Am I the only one having it or is it a common problem?

Hernia does occur during pregnancy if there has been underlying weakness pre exhisting. Fotlr its treatment is to wait and watch only till delivery. Watch over for size of swelling at umbilicus if any. Umblical hernia pain is usually not very severe. The pain you are having may be labour pains. An examination by surgeon will help in confirmation of these issues.

Dear lybrate-user, as you said, you are weak, do some regular excercises in the early morning, take rest properly, avoid sleeping in day time, spend time with friends, nothing but weakness. You can have b-complex tablets twice a day.

Dear Lybrate user, Anger and aggression are emotions. Anger comes when you become irritated. Irritation happens when you don't like something, or when something is repeated. As anger is an emotion, it should be vent out. You should be able to throw anger out instead of controlling it. But more perfect will be, know the frustrating situations and stop being emotional. If practiced properly, you will not get irritated at those circumstances at all. Those techniques are much easier to understand. Take care.

Hi for reduced weight you should work out as per you consume calories and it will take time just continue work out. Take following remedies for loosing weight 1. Arogya vardhini vati 2 tab before lunch and dinner 2. Abhayarishta 4 tsp before lunch nad dinner 3. Morning break fast=mung dal green soup 1 boul and if feel hunger have pomegranate or apple 4. Lunch 2 chaati + fruit vegetable + if you like rice 1 bowl and dal + barley soup 5. Evening 4-5 pm have some milk with sunth or any fruit you like 6. Dinner barley soup 2 bowl and one fruit follow this diet you will get reduced weight.

Dear excessive weight gain occurs only when calories intake are more than calories burnt, so to decrease belly fat you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach daily. 3. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 4. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 5. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 5 min per asana. 6. Do brisk walk early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 7. Avoid oily and fried foods, processed foods, fatty foods like butter, purified butter, cheese, whole-milk yogurt, cream, chocolate, etc. 8. Replace refined flour with whole-wheat flour and rice with brown rice or parboiled rice. 9. Drink three litres of water daily

I'm suffering from anxiety, depression due to several job losses and also not able to concentrate on studies. I'm 52 years old and feeling very nervous of getting a job and retaining it. What should I do? I'm believing more in super natural powers like psychics, astrologer, gods and saints. How to get confidence and do my work without getting addicted any chemical injection or tablets. Is anything related to English medicine like Valium or other antidepressants which will make my mood stay clear of all mental stress without having side effects. hello there are two types of urges mentioned in Ayurveda 1) dharniya vega (urges, should b controlled, but you aren't) like chinta-stress, bhaya-fear, shoka-, krodha-short temper, maan- ego, lobha-greedy etc mental condition you should control yourself 2) adharniya vega (urges that should not be controlled, but you are controling) like sleep, urine, stool, hunger, thirst, yawn, sneeze, vomit etc. so it's too bad live with anxiety. life is a gift. my advises to you are * take life lightly * main problem is how you are reacting matters & incidence of your life & day to day * you can see half filled glass of water by two way: half is still empty(nagative attitude) or half full(positive) * take balance diet * give time for yoga * constipation should removed * you can take brahmi sankhpuspi etc ayurveda medicine * I recommended strongly, go near by ayurveda centre & take shirodhara & Nashya treatment all anti depressants have major side effects. use nature thing as much as possible try to find out reasons of discontinued job & by clearing this starts new job coz life has no failures:)

Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

I have some spots in scalp these spot have mild irritatation and grows some scars. I want to know is it psoroisis or something else. Dear Jalvir, Not all the spots or Scars are of Psoriasis. Severe dandruff lesions also could cause lot of irritation and hair fall. To diagnose it, I would definitely need to see the scalp condition once. Only then will I be able to determine if it is Psoriasis or any other scalp condition. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it. It may have to be further investigated. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days,then contact me again. Contact your family doctor or nearest hospital for emergency help.

A sports players should replace minimum 80% of sweat loss which is approx. 4 to 8 swallows of sports drink every changeover. Failure to do this might lead to cramping and stiffening of muscles. A person who is not into sports should drink at least 3 liters of water that is 10 glasses a day to avoid cramping and stiffness. About 75% of people suffer muscle spasm due to less intake of water.

I have a stone in kidney to the last 3 years. I searched homeopathy medicine because of side effect of alopethic medicine. I found some mother tincture (beriberis vulgaris) medicine for kidney stone. Hi, take homoeopathic medicine - berberis vulgaris q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice daily for 4 months. Get an ultrasound done. (but medicine would be helpful in those kidney-stones where the size is less than 6mm). Prevention of kidney stones may include a combination of lifestyle changes and medications. Lifestyle changes you may reduce your risk of kidney stones if you: drink water throughout the day. For people with a history of kidney stones, drink 12-14 glasses of water everyday. If you live in a hot, dry climate or you exercise frequently, you may need to drink even more water to produce enough urine. If your urine is light and clear, you're likely drinking enough water. 1 eat fewer oxalate-rich foods. If you tend to form calcium oxalate stones, restrict foods rich in oxalates. These include rhubarb, beets, bhindi (okra), spinach, swiss chard, sweet potatoes, nuts, tea, chocolate and soy products. Choose a diet low in salt and animal protein. Reduce the amount of salt you eat and choose non animal protein sources, such as legumes. Consider using a salt substitute. Continue eating calcium-rich foods, but use caution with calcium supplements. Calcium in food doesn't have an effect on your risk of kidney stones. Continue eating calcium-rich foods unless your doctor advises otherwise. Ask your doctor before taking calcium supplements, as these have been linked to increased risk of kidney stones. You may reduce the risk by taking supplements with meals. Diets low in calcium can increase kidney stone formation in some people. Revert me back.

1. Start with Physiotherapy treatment. 2. Learn spinal exercises. 3. Don't sit on floor. 4. Don't lift heavy things. 5. Don't do forward bending. 6. Do hot fermentation twice a day 7. Apply volini cream before sleeping. 8. Take calcium vitamin D 3 and Methylcobalmine supplement for one month minimum.
