Sir I have sore throat since last 3 days I have not taken any antibiotic till now I am 49 a teacher by profession and every morning when I go for jogging I find a small quantity of cough come from throat I am diabetic today my post meal sugar is 187 please suggest me some medicine. Thnx a lot.

Dear lybrate user, as you are a teacher by profession you might be delivering lectures everyday. This is not going to help your condition. Also, your jogging every morning is not good for you either as the breathing rate goes up and the cough cough get further aggravated. As you may not be able to stop delivering lectures, it is adviceable you temporarily stop your jogging till your throat has healed. Certain things that would help you are hereunder: - Drink lots of fluids (warm), avoid coffee - Take steam inhalation 3 times a day & do warm salt water gargles 3-4 times a day. - Keep some succulent lozenges (sugar free) in your bag, and use them as they would ease the irritation during lectures. If you dont feel better in the next 2 days or if there is fever, please consult a physician privately. Needless to mention, your blood sugar levels are on the higher side and a visit to your diabetologist is due. Take care!

I am feeling little weakness and body pain little bit from 3 to 4 days. Last week I was suffering from viral fever, and in CBC result my platelets were 1.25 lac now I am feeling well no any fever I have taken lots of liquids and glucose. I am a student my classes are from 9 am to 5 pm. After my class I feel very exhausted and weak.

Follow health advises given below: Measure your temperature and tell me reading 1. Avoid exertion 2. Take tablet paracetamol 500 mg after food (If No Drug Allergy) as and when required for fever more than 99 f (maximum 3 tablets with gap of 8 hr can be taken in a day) for 3 days 3. Lot of fluids to be taken 4. Take proper diet homemade food like moong dal dalia, chapati etc. 4. Avoid wearing synthetic and tight cloths. and let me know any medicines you were taking and also tell me if you are having other symptoms like cough/ throat pain/ burning urine/ stomach pain so that we can confirm cause of fever.

Drinking daily lemon water with honey is good in reducing wt, but that does nt mean that, you can eat as much as you can& whatever you wouldlike to eat. Try to avoid more oily, salty, spicy, fast/junk/baked food. Take food in small quantity but often. Try to take more green, veg salads, fruits, home made, bt try to reduce rice contents, take pulkas, take sprouts, millets, dal items more. You can eat eggs but white only. Do not go for outside food& caronated drinks. Drink minimum 3-4 litres of water/day. That too if you take 1/2litre minimum in morning after waking up, will help toclean your body. Try to reduce intake of oil/ghee made contents like sweets& chats. Always breakfast should be a bit sufficent or high, lunch with less quantity& dinner evebn more light. Do not forget that though you follow diet, you must follow doing regular exercises, workouts in any form like any of your favourite sports,{outdoor], gym{under expert's care], yoga, jogging, walking. Etc strictly. **lemon water also. If you prepare in this waynn drink, then helpful. Boil a glass of water with dry ginger or ginger or pepper powder, let it be a bit less warmer, then add 1-2 spoonfuls [according to need]of pure honey. Try to avoid sugar& replace it wih honey orjaggery. Taking milkwith honeyalsois good fat burner.

Start eating small frequent meals Include whole grains and use atta with bran take high fibre diet which include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables Drink atleast 10-12 glasses of water avoid drinking calories in form of juices and carbonated drinks avoid eating junk food, fried food and maida products try to eat home made food as much as possible move yourself use stairs, walk to near by places instead of using any vehicle include at least 30-45 minutes workout in your routine take sound sleep of at least 7-8 hours, quit smoking and drinking if any manage stress.

By the time we cross 40, most of us suffer from minimal cognitive impairment and have a memory loss of very recent events or objects. This is age related and should not be confused with dementia.

This can also happen in patients who are vegetarians and vitamin B12 deficient. People often have difficulty in naming objects and name of the people.

Just as a computer hangs up while doing multiple tasks, so does the human mind. When you handle multiple projects at the same time, you may experience thought blocks, which is natural and not a sign of a disease.

When we introduce ourselves to a new person, we often tell our name first. It is possible that by the time you finish your conversation, the person may forget your name. Therefore, one should either introduce themselves last after the conversation is over or introduce oneself at the start and also at the end of the conversation.

Some people introduce themselves before the conversation and hand over their visiting card at the end of a conversation. This is also taught in how to market yourself.

As medical doctors, we face these difficulties quite often. People send SMSs without their names or call without telling their names. For example, I once got a call "Malhotra Bol Raha Hoon Pehchana Kya" As a doctor, we may have had hundreds of Malhotras as our patients and it is not expected from us, especially after the age of 40 to recall a person just by his surname. Unless we are given complete information by the patient on phone, mistakes can be made, especially if it is a phone consultation. In any way, phone consultation needs to be avoided. Even Supreme Court in one of its judgments said that giving phone consultation may amount to professional misconduct on the part of the doctor.

If you drink tea with sugar 4 to 5 cups in a day it is not good. So is coffee with sugar. Drink maximum 1 to 2 cups of tea.

Hi, do regular exercise. Take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning. Eat soaked dry grapes or dates soaked in warm milk overnight. Include protein rich food in your diet. No drink before meals. If you are non vegetarian include eggs chicken and fish in your diet. Take small and frequent meals.

How to become strong means I am very thin to gain more strength and weight give me a solution.
1. Protein is the key for the muscle building. Without adequate protein, muscle gain and growth is not possible because weight training demands for amino acids (which comes from protein). You should daily eat about 2.2g of protein per kilogram of your weight. For example, if you are 50kg , then you should eat 50x2.2=111g of protein spread over 5-6 meals in the day. Include high protein foods in your diet. Your protein intake should be from foods rather than from supplements. Good protein foods: beans,soybeans, whey, fish, dairy products (low fat variety), meats, nuts and seeds (almonds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds), peanut butter. Many of these are easy digestible foods. Milk is one of the best muscle foods. The milk contains two high quality proteins, about 80 percent whey and 20 percent casein. Whey is quickly broken down into amino acids and absorbed into the bloodstream. Whey is very good to consume after workout. Casein is digested more slowly and provides the body with a steady supply of protein for a longer period of time. Cheese is concentrated milk, so it is high in protein and calcium, fat and cholesterol. Include healthy skim yogurt in your diet, which can give you as much as 120 calories. 2. Eat custard apple (Saripa, Sitaphal) to put on some weight. This fruit is high in calorie. 3. Healthy fats: Avoid fatty foods. Most mothers, especially in India give too much ghee or butter to their children, thinking they will put flesh fast. But ghee is mostly saturated fat which is not a healthy fat for any body. Healthy fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids. Good fats: cold pressed oils (olive, sunflower, linseed, canola ). 4. Drink pure fruit juice. It is full of sugar and added nutrients so it is a healthy and nutritious way to gain some pounds. 5. Complex carbohydrates are also needed for gaining weight.. Corn bread is also full of carbohydrates, one piece gives approximately 328 calories. Potatoes are rich sources of carbohydrates and complex sugars, eat baked or as grilled potatoes. Pasta is a calorie rich cereal carbohydrates. 6. Eat bananas. These are rich in carbs and nutritious, one banana contains approximately 100 calories. 7. Some people think that drinking beer helps, but it is not true, it accumulates in your abdomen, making it fatty. 8. Don't take protein supplements for gaining muscles. Consult your doctor for protein supplements. 9. Non Vegetarian Foods Some of the non-vegetarian foods that help increase weight are given below: 1. Red Meat lean ground beef, lean steaks. 2. Pork, ham, lamb 3. Fish: Eat two portions of salmon, cod, or tuna every day. 4. Shrimps: The nutrients and necessary acid content present in shrimps gives healthy calories. 5. Turkey 6. Chicken breast Chicken breast, is supposed to be the healthiest and non-fat part which has approximately 78 calories for each serving. Whole eggs: Eggs are loaded with protein, vitamins A,D and E

Hi pine, you can increase your stamina by having healthy diet like niuts, whole grains, vegetable, fruits, milk and milk products. Do cardio exercises and strength exercise. Increase duration and intensity of workout gradually. And most importantly stay hydrated and can have caffien like coffee and tea for boosting yourself. Heel pain?
Heel pain is a very common foot complaint and may involve injury to the bone, fat pad, ligaments, tendons or muscles. Heel pain can also be referred by a pinched nerve in your lower back.

It is important to have your heel pain thoroughly assessed to ensure an accurate diagnosis and subsequent treatment.

Anyone can suffer from heel pain, but certain groups seem to be at increased risk, including:

Middle aged men and women
Active people eg running sports
People who are very overweight
Children aged between 8 and 13 years
Pregnant women
People who stand for long periods of time.
Common sources of heel pain
Achilles tendon rupture
Achilles tendonitis / tendinitis
Fibromyalgia
Heel spur
High ankle sprain
Lupus
Muscle strain (muscle pain)
Overuse injuries
Peroneal tendonitis
Pinched nerve

Common causes of heel pain?
Some of the many causes of heel pain can include:

Abnormal walking style (such as rolling the feet inwards)
Obesity
Ill-fitting shoes eg narrow toe, worn out shoes
Standing, running or jumping on hard surfaces
Recent changes in exercise program
Heel trauma eg. Stress fractures
Bursitis (inflammation of a bursa)
Health disorders, including diabetes and arthritis.
Heel pain treatment
Most heel pain is caused by a combination of poor biomechanics, or muscle weakness or tightness. The good news is that heel pain can be effectively managed once the cause is identified.

Most heel pain can be successfully treated via:

Pain and pressure relief techniques
Biomechanical correction eg orthotics, taping, foot posture exercises
Muscle stretches and massage
Lower limb muscle strengthening
Proprioceptive and balance exercises to stimulate your foot intrinsic muscles.
If you feel that your footwear or sports training schedule are potentially causing your heel pain, then we recommend that you seek the advice of a sports physiotherapist, podiatrist or trained footwear specialist (not just a shop assistant) to see if your shoe is a match for your foot; or discuss your training regime to see if you are doing too much.

Heel pain and injury are extremely common. With accurate assessment and early treatment most heel pain injuries respond extremely quickly to physiotherapy allowing you to quickly resume pain-free and normal activities of daily living.

Dr. I was feeling headache only either side of head and body pain after little bit extra activity in sun or any normal day as well so, I carried out a test -vitamin b12, vitamin d3the result was shocking. Vitamin b12 was 190 (just touching the lower side of normal range). And d3 was less thn 10 (extremely low). I want to know. How could Suddenly these two deficiencies came. And What could be the reason for this deficiency. 1.I was taking novophane plus tablet for hair during that period and 2. Sometimes raw or boiled egg. 3.little bit exercises in gym. I avoided theses above 3 activities After the reports Dr. suggest me calcirol sachet once in a week for 8 weeks.

Domt worry viatmin deficiencies are quite common in indian population. Vitamin b12 deficiency is common in vegans. Take supplements for it and incorporate vitamin b12 rich food. Vitamin d deficiency occurs due to inadequate dietary intake of vitamin and less sun exposure. Calcirol sachet as prescribed should be continued. Your headache on sun exposure could be due to migraine too. Continue healthy diet and exercises. Eggs will not cause such deficiency. If headache persists consult again.

वैज्ञानिक नाम रफानस सैटाईवस वाली मुली, स्वाद में तीखी या मीठी और कई रसों से युक्त होती है. इसे कच्चा या पकाकर खाया जा सकता है. कच्चा खाने के लिए इसे सलाद के रूप में इस्तेमाल करते हैं. वहीँ पका कर खाने के लिए इसका सब्जी या पराठा बना लेते हैं. मुली को अचार के रूप में भी खाते हैं. मुली विभिन्न आकार और रंग (सफ़ेद, लाल, बैंगनी या काला) की होती है. मुली में पत्तियां, फुल और बीज होते हैं. तो आइए नजर डालते हैं मुली के पत्तों के फायदों पर.

1. ह्रदय रोगों में
इसमें मौजूद एन्थेसाइनिन नामक तत्व दिल के मरीजों के लिए भी फायदेमंद होता है. ऐसा कई शोधों के परिणामों में देखा गया है कि एन्थेसाइनिन नामक तत्व ह्रदय संबंधी तमाम विकारों में सकारात्मक भूमिका निभाता है. आपको बता दें कि एन्थेसाइनिन में कैंसर रोधी गुण भी देखा गया है. हलांकि अभी इस दिशा में काफी शोध किए जाने बाकी हैं. ये जरुर है कि एन्थेसाइनिन ने तमाम शोधकर्ताओं को अपनी तरफ आकर्षित किया है.
2. पेट के लिए
मुली के हरे-हरे पत्तों में विटामिन ए, बी और सी के साथ ही क्लोरिन, फास्फोरस, सोडियम, आयरन, मैग्नीशियम और भी बहुत सारे पोषक तत्व पाए जाते हैं. अपने इन तत्वों के कारण मुली के पत्ते पेट के तमाम विकारों में फायदेमंद साबित होते हैं. कब्ज आदि पेट की तमाम बीमारियाँ इसे खाने से दूर होती हैं. पेट के साफ़ रहने से आप अनावश्यक बीमारियों से भी बच जाते हैं. यहाँ ये भी बताना ठीक रहेगा कि मुली पित्त को प्रोत्साहित करती है. 
3. ताजगी के लिए खाएं मुली के पत्ते
इसके पत्तों को आप सब्जी या पराठा के रूप में इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं. आप चाहें तो इसे कच्चा भी खा सकते हैं. इसे खाने से शरीर के प्रतिरोधक क्षमता में वृद्धि होती है. जिससे की आप बिमारियों से बेहतर तरीके से लड़ सकते हैं. इसके साथ ही ये आपको थकान महसूस नहीं होने देता है और आप तरोताजा रहते हैं. इससे आप हाइड्रेटेड भी रहते हैं.
4. बवासीर में
मुली और इसके पत्तों के तमाम फायदों में से एक ये भी है कि इससे बवासीर की समस्या भी काफी हद तक कम हो सकती है. इसके लिए आपको रोजाना इसकी सब्जी या कच्चा खाना होता है. आप चाहें तो मुली के ताजा पत्तों को पीसकर गुदाद्वार पर लगा सकते हैं. इससे भी बवासीर में राहत मिलती है.
5. निम्न रक्तचाप के मरीजों के लिए
मुली के पत्तों में सोडियम की प्रचुरता होती है. जिससे कि इसे खाने पर हमारे शरीर में नमक की कमी नहीं होती है. निम्न रक्तचाप के मरीजों के लिए ये बेहद फायदेमंद साबित होता है. इसके लिए आप मुली के पत्तों को खाएं. हलांकि इसके लिए किसी विशेषज्ञ की सलाह अवश्य लें. क्योंकि ऐसे बीमारियों में थोड़ी सी भी  चुकी काफी घातक हो सकती है.
6. पीलिया रोग में
मुली के पत्ते फाइबर से भी भरपूर होते हैं. फाइबर हमारे शरीर के लिए बेहद महत्वपूर्ण तत्व है. मुली के पत्तों के रस को पानी और मिश्री के साथ मिलाकर पिने से पीलिया रोग में राहत मिलती है. इसका एक अतिरिक्त फायदा भी है, इससे बालों का झड़ना कम होता है. मुली के पत्त्तों से बालों को मजबूती भी मिलती है.
7. अन्य फायदे
मुली के पत्तों के तमाम अतिरिक्त फायदे भी बताए जाते हैं. जैसे कि इसे आँखों के लिए भी बढ़िया माना जाता है. मुली के पत्ते खाने से पेशाब भी साफ़ आता है. मुली के पत्तों का साग बनाकर, अचार के रूप में, सब्जी के रूप में या पराठा बनाकर खा सकते हैं. इसे कच्चा भी खाने में कोई नुकसान नहीं है. तो क्या सोच रहे हैं जाइए और बाजार से मुली लाकर खाइए और स्वस्थ रहिए.
