Dear Doctors, Every morning, I ride my bike to work covering a commutation distance of 12 kms. Since the journey ends by 9 A.M. Heading towards the west direction, I get little exposure of Sun on my back. Is this sufficient to say that I receive enough amount of Vitamin D through Sunshine?

The most accurate way to measure how much vitamin D is in your body is the 25-hydroxy vitamin D blood test. A level of 20 nanograms/milliliter to 50 ng/mL is considered adequate for healthy people. A level less than 12 ng/mL indicatesvitamin D deficiency. I am suffering from sleeplessness. I think it is insomnia. What is insomnia. What should I do to get rid of it.
Yes it is a symptom of insomnia. I can understand how disturbing an interuppted, inappropriate or disturbed sleep can affect your day to day life. In india it has been found 55% of patients are suffering from insomnia just because of stress, distractions and anxiety. So the best way to get rid from insomnia is to reduce the stress level. A physiotherapist can help you to give you the ways to relax your mind and give you comfort and stress full sleep. Consult some neurologist/neuropyschiatric and start taking medicine if it is due to some neurological discorder. And consult nearby physio who can make a perfect routine and daily life styl chart to make you relax so that you get an appropriate sleep. Please follow some points that will help you in such condition along with medical treatment: 1) use of ice packs over your eyes or frontal area for some time to give relaxation. 2) massage your head especially forehead area using levander oil or clove oil as it removes toxins from body 3) regular intake of healthy dietry food rich in proteins and vitamins. 4) avoid fasting - eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timings 5) make yourself busy by fulfilling your hobby as it will give you freshness and your mind will be diverted from normal life which help in pain reduction. 6) before sleeping time do some relaxation exercises. - sit on chair with both the hands placed on the pillow placed over thighs. - deep inhale from your nose, mouth should be closed. - hold your breath for the count of 5. - exhale completely from mouth making a loud sound. Continue to do this exercise for 10 times. Before going to bed make a habit of doing this daily. Modified technique of same exercise is while inhaling extend your arms, hold for 5 count and then exhale making your arms back in the rest position. 7) room modification while sleep - make sure room should be dark with no noise. Avoid sleeping immediately after dinner or food. Take a walk for 15 min and then come back, bed should be not too soft not too hard. 8) it is recommended to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water per day. It is also a very good habit to start and finish your day by drinking a good glass of purifying water. 9) exerices like aerobics (running) can be done to make your muscles active. Many other ways are there in order to maintain your life stress free and active so that you can continue to sleep on time and it does affect your life. For more help or instructions please consult. Chest pain at your age could be due to stress and anxiety.Avoid stress.Go for regular exercise,play some games. Take bland diet,avoid spicy and junk food,drink plenty of water.Have sound sleep in the night for 7-8hours daily. Sometimes chest pain could be due to myalgia.Take one tablet of paracetamol500mg sos after food.If you have recurrent attack of chest pain then take ECG and Consult doctor

Hiv test 4th gen cmia p24ag +ab in Dr. Lal path lab on 63, 86 & 126 day came neg. Q1. All time index increasing as 0.05, 0.06,&0.11 mean multiplying ir no issue Q2. Conclusive mean I am clean or need more test Q3. Is the lab &the test is reliable Q4. Am I 100% clean, as said that all 4th gen test are 100%accurate if done twice after 3 month.

I'm going to describe both the 3rd generation ELISA test and the 4th generation DUO test for you. The ELISA test looks for antibodies in your blood that your body develops in response to an HIV infection. The window period is the point from first infection until the test can reliably detect antibodies in the blood. For the ELISA test this window period is 4 weeks to 3 months. A 4th generation test like the one you took, also known as a DUO or Combo test, looks for both antibodies and P24 protein antigens. The P24 antigens can be detected within the first few weeks post-exposure, so this therefore shortens the window period for the test. Many HIV specialists consider this test conclusive at 6 weeks. This test is not necessarily "better" than the ELISA test, it can simply produce more accurate results earlier than the ELISA test. Your CMIA 4th generation test result is therefore conclusive at 6 weeks post-exposure.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. The blood glucose levels mentioned are too high, which show that present medical treatment is not at all helping him. There has to be an up gradation of treatment. If you want me to guide in relation to treatment, diet and exercise, I I need to know following details: Fasting, PP blood glucose levels, HbA1c%, current drugs with dosage, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, lipid profile and BP readings. Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. A nocturnal emission or involuntary leakage is an involuntary ejaculation of semen that occurs during sleep or along with urine while urination. Studies show that approximately 83% of men experience a nocturnal emission or leakage at some point in their lives. There is nothing wrong with a person if he or she experiences a nocturnal orgasm or nocturnal emission or leakage, as they are normal and healthy experiences.
