I am suffering from skin problems on my face pimples are leaving dark marks I want to know how can I get fair skin.

Acne: it is an inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands (the oil-secreting glands) and the hair follicles. It is characterised by whiteheads, blackheads and pustules. Scarring is common and is usually associated with an oily discharge. Cause: the cause is not fully understood, but the probable causes can be: heredity hormonal imbalance esp. During puberty hygiene improper diet stress drugs like corticosteroids dos and do not's: wash your face frequently, at least 5 times a day, taking care that it does not become too dry. Do not scrub your face while washing because scrubbing on inflamed skin aggravates the acne. Use a gentle cleanser made with natural ingredients or herbs rather than chemical preparations. Do not use scented soaps and use a mild anti-bacterial soap if possible. Try not to apply cosmetics regularly or use non-greasy light make-up of repute. Do not sleep with your makeup on. Do not overexpose your skin to the sun. Preferably wear a hat while going out. Do not break your pimples else it will lead to secondary infection. You can use facial steam to reduce inflammation and infection but never more than 15 minutes and not more than once a fortnight. Diet should be rich in natural whole foods like whole grain cereals, fresh fruit salads and vegetables raw or lightly cooked. Avoid fatty food, chocolate, ice cream, butter, cakes, white bread, sweets and fried food. Supplements of vitamin a and zinc may be used. Regular exercise will make your circulation better. See a doctor if: your acne does not respond in 2-3 months following the advice listed above. If your acne is infected and there is pus-like discharge. Protein - Hair is made up mostly of protein so a protein rich diet is necessary. But not if your main source of protein is a large steak. In fact, eating large quantities of meat as Americans do can be counterproductive. A steak will increase testosterone levels, and this has been linked to hair loss. Eggs are an excellent source of protein (see link below on how to boil the perfect egg). Also add nuts, seeds, beans and fish. Other good choices are organic soy foods, and hemp foods. I can add too that the Korean diet has little or no meat on a daily basis.

Dark circles around the eye are to some extent a reflection of your overall health. Take plenty of water, fresh fruits and vegetables. Exercise and meditate. Adequate rest n sleep is equally important. If your hemoglobin in low take treatment for that.

Please note the following in respect to your queries: hibiscus flowers and leaves can be very helpful in preventing hair loss and to promote hair growth. Hibiscus flowers are used as an effective cure for split ends and dandruff as well. - heat 12-15 hibiscus flowers in 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. - strain the solution and collect the oil. Apply this concoction to the scalp and hairs, leave overnight and wash in the morning. To use the hibiscus leaves, grind them into fine paste and apply the paste to the scalp and hairs. Leave it on for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Rinse off with plenty of water.

I am of 23 yr my hair is falling and having a dandruff from last 6 months what the precautions will I take.

Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Badiaga 200, Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Anti-Dandruff shampoo and Anti-Dandruff oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. Can I have carrot and beetroot when I have hypothyroid and taking thyroxine 50 daily? My skin became very dry will it be normal if my TSH level comes to normal?

Ikshaji, hypothyroidism causes skin to become dry. Once it is controlled with tsh levels becoming normal, most symptoms will disappear. Carrots and beet root are fine, can be eaten. Only cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts, soy beans and soy containing products and coffee need to be avoided.

My face skin is very dry and dull. When in morning after bath my face look very harsh and whiteheads shows. I use apply cream on face but it still look very much dry and dull. please help.

To maintain the skin health and reduce the dry skin condition follow this - 1.Bathe with gentle soaps. If possible use some natural ingredients like gramflour, turmeric mixed with some milk to bathe daily. This does not wash your skin off the natural oils. 2.Keep your bath short and do not use hot water to bathe. Use only lukewarm water. 3.Apply Vitamin E oil or warm olive oil on the body after bathing. You can also use a good moisturiser. 4.Cocoa butter mixed with wheat germ oil is also very good at maintaining the skin health. 5.You can mix some oils like – Sesame, olive, virgin coconut oil, wheat germ oil to apply before going to bed. 6.Consume diet that is rich in vitamin E, omega 3 and 6 and other skin friendly vitamins like vitamin E and A. Eat almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, sesame seeds to maintain skin health. 7.Keep yourself hydrated. Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water to keep your skin soft and supple.
