Dear Sir / Madam, my mother was suffering from knee joint pains since three years, daily feeling horrible pain, recently Consulted a doctor and he suggested that, need to do operation. Is there any alternative method to cure permanently either through medication or injection. Please suggest, we can't bare for surgery.

You can try steroid injections in knee. They are cheap and pretty safe. But if knees are very damaged then operation can be good for long term.

Hi, Take tab Pimplex (SBL) 4 tabs chew for twice a day Tabs Hepar sulphuris pentarkan (DR WILMAR SHAWBE) 2tabs to be chewed twice a day for 1mth Check for dandruff Use cream Calendula Nectar Apply this cream twice a day Don't apply soap to face Include fruits,green leafy vegetables ,salads in diet. Thyroid disorder and weight loss

Most of the time, underlying the thyroid disorder is years of abuse of our body.
When you don't take proper care of your own nutrition, sleep and invest time for proper exercise, at some point various hormonal systems of the body go out of sync.

It is very important to have your thyroid hormones as tablets as per your doctor's prescription and adjust the dose with a periodic check up. And just doing it may reduce your weight little bit. But it will not be enough. You need to work on the root cause of this issue.

Avoid all junk food and all sweet food. Low fat - low calorie diets does not work for the majority of people. Eat wholesome nutritious food full of fibers, good quality fat like ghee and coconut etc. Don't focus on calories but on nutritional density and diversity.

Simultaneously working on exercise and diet will surely help. You do not have to do rigorous exercise to lose weight but start with something small. Let us say 8-minute workout. 

Best rate to lose weight is 1/2 kg per week. If that happens, it is least likely to go high again in future.

Trying to lose weight in very short time will need some form of crash diet. Even if you lose weight doing this kind of crash diet, you will get it all back in no time and all the gain will be mainly fat. Not good for your health.

Be gentle and patient with yourself. Demonstrate commitment to your persistent efforts. Make a comprehensive change in diet, exercise, sleep and stress in your routine. This is called lifestyle medicine. If you can not do it on your own, find some expert who can help you in this over an extended period of time.

Follow the following tips:- · Pay attention to your health and food intake. · To increase your appetite, have a glass of lime water or 1 cardamom (elaichi) before your meal.  · Have minimum 4 meals in a day. · Drink 1 glass of milk twice a day. · Try to enjoy your meals and gradually increase the quantity you eat every time. · A balance diet should have all essential nutrients in it. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It should include combination of Both Carbohydrates and Proteins for e.g. Oats with Milk or Poha/ Upma with a glass of milk. If you do not like milk have 1-2 egg whites in the morning along with your breakfast. · You need to focus on your protein intake : Increase your protein intake e.g. milk, dairy products- cheese, paneer, lentils (dals), nuts ( soya, peanuts, dry fruits ), pulses e.g. rajma, chole, kidney beans etc. sprouts. If you are a non-vegetarian, then you can have proteins by also eating eggs, chicken, fish. Make sure you are including at least 2 serving of any of these in your daily meal. · Lunch and dinner again should be a combination of Proteins, Carbohydrates and Fats which could have dal, roti, sabji/chicken, salad.  · Please do have minimum 4 almonds or a small bowl of peanuts every day. · Please ensure that you drink at least 3 litres of water every day. Get your Thyroid profile done and revert.

Your feeling of dizziness may be due to deficiency of vitamin D. We have good medicine to increase vitamin D level. Foods that are rich in vitamin D are - salmon, eggs, almonds, Fortified Orange Juice, Fortified Milk, Fortified Yogurt, etc do get sunlight exposure usually of early morning, avoid too much sunscreen which blocks sunlight to enter the body. I have been taking regularly Nebistar 5 mg medicine in night since last 3 year, My BP reading is normally at 130/88. Since last 4-5 days I am having headache in day time and found my BP reading to be 140/95. Please advice if it is temporary due to work stress or I need to increase dosage as I am taking same medicine since last 3 year. My age is 41 year.

Hey Mr. lybrate-user, 140/95 is not alarming. You need not worry about it. Just do your routine excercise and maintain your diet. Just make sure you record your BP when your relaxed and do not take any meal 1 hr prior to recording BP. For headache, use T.paracetomol 500 mg 1 SOS (when head ache is present)

Hi,Acne is the most common teenage problem.Acne is a result of a blockage in the follicles or the pores on the skin. It includes whiteheads, pimples, blackheads and rashes, and occurs usually on the face, chest. Homoeopathy cures acne conditions like blackheads, whiteheads, skin rashes and oily skin very effectively. *Treatment part for the acne -- 1. Take kali brom 30 ch , (wsi) 3 drops daily morning empty stomach. 2.
