I am 32 years old male. I am suffering from movement disorder from last 8-10 years that is sometimes (not all times duration between 2 attacks may be alternate day to month to years) I have to move my limbs in awkward direction rapidly. It (involuntarily movements) can affect all my body parts including head which is worst. I feel so much pressure/urge in my head that I have to rotate my head clockwise/anticlockwise. All these are temporarily suppressible. My stress is manageable. Sleep is proper. No family history for this. No drinking, no smoking. No Fits, Convulsions. CT Scan/MRI Scan/EEg Normal. I have consulted Neurologist and was told that this may be TICS and prescribed REVOCON (TETRABENZINE). But this is not helping me. So please guide me. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user chronic motor tic disorder may be the result of physical or chemical abnormalities in the brain. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that transmit signals throughout the brain. They may be misfiring or not communicating correctly. This causes the same “message” to be sent over and over again. The result is a physical tic. This is due to the wrong type of protein synthesis occurring in your gene. Homoeopathy has got best solutions for it. We used to study the genetic make up of the individual to find out the imbalance in it which will cause the imbalance in immunity which in turn causes the tics. A detailed consultation is needed for it. If you are interested I can help you.

Stone in pancreas, and swelling in pancreas is something to be careful as pancreatitits may lead to further complications. It will take time to relieve. Keep on with advise of the same doctor who is look after her. In between you can give her homoepathic medicine to relieve her pain and suffering. Get (Iris versicolor 30/ 2dram and Spongia 30/ 2dram) and give 3 pills each half houlry to be taken by mouth chewing without water.

Simple ways to reduce risk of falling, especially for the elderly

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Bachelor of Physical Therapy
Physiotherapist, Hyderabad
Simple ways to reduce risk of falling, especially for the elderly
Preventing falls is a special concern for men and women with osteoporosis. Falls can increase the risk of fracturing a bone in the hip, wrist, spine, or other part of the skeleton. In addition to the environmental factors listed below, falls can also be caused by impaired vision and/or balance, chronic diseases that affect mental or physical functioning, and certain medications, such as sedatives and some antidepressants. It is important that individuals with osteoporosis be aware of any physical changes that affect their balance or gait, and that they discuss these changes with their health care provider.

Outdoors:
1. Use a cane or walker for added stability.
2. Wear rubber-soled shoes for traction.

Simple tips
1. Make sure lighting is adequate especially night as falls are common when trying to walk in dark.
2. Eliminate clutter in the house and neatly strap loose wires etc so it does not come in the way.
3. Avoid using rugs where foot or cane can catch while walking.
4. Make sure there are bars to hold on to in the bathroom.
5. Elderly patients will reduce fall risk if they do gentle stretching exercises daily and keep up their walking.

I have problem in my stomach. In morning motion not clear. I think this is a problem of piles. Help me.

I have problem in my stomach. In morning motion not clear. I think this is a problem of piles. Help me.
Have regular food habits as well as habit of going for motion. Don’t avoid when you have an urge for going to toilet. Take 2 to 3 glasses of warm water in the morning. This will help in reducing acidity as well as hardness of stool and you don’t have to strain your pelvic muscles. Keep hydrated by drinking lots of water and having fruits and vegetable juices Avoid sitting for long time at one place. Sedentary habit causes constipation. Driving bike or cycle for long duration at a time may be avoided. Travelling in a car or bus for long journey is also not good. Train is better as you can change positions. Avoid chillies, masalas and such hot foods. Take easily digestible foods including curds and fruits. We have very good treatment in homoeopathy. Take Nux vom 200 twice daily morning and evening and give feedback after 7 days.
