I'm facing a problem of bleeding nose. All of a sudden the blood come out of one nostril in every 2-3 days.
This might be because of dryness of anterior part of nasal septum Use any skin antibiotic cream thrice inside your nostril over septum After improvements you can use any moisturiser or Vaseline

Chronic Sinusitis - How Unani Remedies Can Help?

Chronic Sinusitis - How Unani Remedies Can Help?

There are hollow spaces in the skull (cavities) known as sinus, which have a mucous lining. Due to various reasons, these can get inflamed, and in some people, despite multiple treatments, the sinusitis can be recurrent and persistent. This condition, where it continues to persist beyond 12 weeks, is known as chronic sinusitis. It can be seen in people of all ages, can be worse in children, elderly, and the immunocompromised.

In Unani, chronic sinusitis is referred to as nazla, and this is due to bad temperament of the brain and the nose, causing inflammation of the mucosa in the sinuses around the nose.

Causes:

  1. Nasal septum deviation: The wall separating the two nostrils can be moved to one side, blocking the sinuses
  2. Nasal polyps: These are growths within the nostrils which can block air flow
  3. Respiratory tract infections: The nostrils are the first part of the respiratory tract, and infections can affect the sinuses
  4. Allergies: Chronic allergies like hay fever and inflammation can cause sinusitis

Symptoms:

Unani believes that the accumulated mucus causes irritation and pain in the face, especially around the nose. Symptoms include:

  1. Postnasal drainage, which is thick, discoloured (greenish yellow) drainage from the nose to the throat. This can also produce a constant salty taste in the throat
  2. Chronic nasal congestion or obstruction, leading to difficulty breathing
  3. Painful, tender area around the nose and eyes (sinus space)
  4. Decreased sense of smell
  5. Unpleasant taste
  6. Mouth breathing, which can lead to further throat and respiratory problems
  7. Other symptoms include ear pain, sore throat, cough, painful jaws, fatigue, and fever.

Treatment:

Unani believes that disease is a natural process due to an imbalance between the various body fluids. Treatment is usually progressive, starting with noninvasive measures, moving up to more invasive methods. In chronic sinusitis, the following are often recommended.

  1. Eucalyptus leaves to be boiled in water and inhaling this provides great relief. It helps in thinning the mucus which is then released easily
  2. An equal amount of Viola odorata (Linn), marshmallow root extract and Jujube fruits (unaab) are mixed and boiled in about 100 ml of water until the mixture gets reduced to half. This can be stored for prolonged periods and mixed with consumed to be used on a daily basis.
  3. Another mixture that is used is Malva sylvestris, mallow, and liquorice roots which are again boiled in about 100 mL of water until it is reduced to half the quantity. This can be stored and consumed on a daily basis, up to 3 times a day. This helps in clearing the sinuses and reducing inflammation, preventing a chronic sinusitis.
  4. Khameera ustokhddus. OD dose and cupping therapy is also very helpful in all types of scinositis.

Thank you for writing to us. Please note the following for your condition: One particular type of chronic dizziness not related to vertigo (a feeling of turning or whirling usually associated with inner ear problems) -- “Patients with this syndrome have chronic nonspecific dizziness, subjective imbalance and hypersensitivity to motion stimuli, which are exacerbated in complex visual environments (e. G. Walking in a busy store, driving in the rain),”. Anxiety can also cause chronic dizziness Treatment: Deep breathing is one of the best ways to deal with dizziness. It will help provide an adequate amount of oxygen to the brain, which in turn will relax the nervous system and reduce dizziness. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Place one hand on your abdomen, place the thumb of your other hand against one nostril and close your mouth. Inhale slowly through your open nostril and try to fill your belly with air. Hold the breath in, close both nostrils and purse your lips. After 2 to 3 seconds, exhale slowly and try to extract air from your belly. Repeat these steps 10 times. Then, sit quietly for 5 minutes and breathe normally to avoid getting dizzy again. For further steps get back to me. Thanks.

It is hypertrophied turbinates. You might have dns also. Get an x-ray pns (waters view) done and confirm. If no dns then a steroid nasal spray might solve the problem

• Tonsillitis-Swelling of tonsils At the back of your throat, two masses of tissue called tonsils act as filters, trapping germs that could otherwise enter your airways and cause infection. They also produce antibodies to fight infection. But sometimes the tonsils themselves become infected. Overwhelmed by bacteria or viruses, they swell and become inflamed, a condition known as tonsillitis. Tonsillitis is common, especially in children. The condition can occur occasionally or recur frequently. The main symptoms of tonsillitis are inflammation and swelling of the tonsils, sometimes severe enough to block the airways. Other symptoms include: • Throat pain or tenderness • Redness of the tonsils • A white or yellow coating on the tonsils • Painful blisters or ulcers on the throat • Hoarseness or loss of voice • Headache • Loss of appetite • Ear pain • Difficulty swallowing or breathing through the mouth • Swollen glands in the neck or jaw area • Fever, chills • Bad breath Homoeopathy has good treatment without causing adverse effects. Hello . What type of ear surgery was done . Also , what were the ear findings after the surgery was done. Please inform. Also the whistling / ringing sound you are experiencing , may occur with inner ear nerve dysfunction or with perforated ear drum. You may need a hearing evaluation - Audiometry to address that problem.

Ayurvedic Ways To Treat Sinusitis!

Ayurvedic Ways To Treat Sinusitis!

Sinusitis is an irritation or swelling of the tissue covering the sinuses. Healthy sinuses are loaded with air. But there are times when they get blocked and loaded with fluid. In such cases, germs can develop and cause an infection. Due to this infection, your nose gets heavily blocked along with you sinuses and might make it difficult for you to breathe.

Conditions that can bring about sinus blockage include the following:

Here are some of the ways you can get rid of sinusitis naturally:

  1. Stay Hydrated: Drink a lot of water, soup or broth, along with juices with no added sugar and hot tea. These liquids will disperse bodily fluids and drain it from the disturbed sinuses.

  2. Salt Water Rinse: In case you suffer from sinus infections often, invest in a neti pot. This helpful container makes it simple to hydrate your nasal tract, getting out undesirable bodily fluids and any contaminants you may have breathed, an which may have been caught in the nasal cavity.

  3. Turmeric/Ginger Root: Turmeric root is an excellent fragrant spice found in most Indian and Middle Eastern dishes. Turmeric not only contains the regular calming and anti-inflammatory curcumin, it is also an antioxidant. When it is mixed with hot ginger ale and blended with hot tea, this mixture can remove excess fluid from the clogged nasal sections, ease sinus pressure and make you feel better.

  4. Spicy Food: Spicy ingredients such as mustard, hot peppers, curry, horseradish, and masala in one’s food may help in clearing sinuses. In case you like spices, think about including some hot flavours to your food to open your nasal entries.

  5. Apply Warm Packs: You can use a warm pack to keep the nasal tissues damp. Also, fill a round bowl or pot with steaming water and place your face over it with a towel around your head to inhale the steam in. This will open up your sinuses and make an easy path for fluid drainage.

  6. Take a Steam: High temperature water vapour can saturate the sinuses. Sprinkle a couple drops of eucalyptus or menthol in the shower or bath and steam up your bathroom. A hot shower can also relax the bodily fluid as well as the mucus and debris that are stuck inside your nose.

  7. Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is not only powerful in disposing off sinus issues; it can also be used for different skin and hair issues. What it does essentially for sinus infection is that it clears up the nose so that the bodily fluid can be removed quickly.
