You have very minor retractive power, at least you should get refraction done by ophalmologist & if prescribed glass you may wear on&off. There is no medicine which can restore your vision from 6/9 to 6/6

Don't worry dry eye is completely cure through ayurveda, we had cure so many cases of dry eye completely while their schimmer's test less than 5mm at present their schimmer's test is 20-22 mm, and they doing well work even on computer without any drops, but treatment takes time for complete recovery almost 10-12 months. Get your refraction done and wear spectacles eat green veggies. Carrots. Strain less your eyes. Relax your eyes in between work. Blink regularily if working for long time on computer. Lower the brightness of your screen. Work under adequately illuminated conditions. If needed wear corrective spectacles. These r few things you can take care of. Otherwise as such no options available which wd increases your eyesight. Get your fundus examined too if vision does not improve with glasses.

I had red eyes for over 3days and I also Felt ill so what can I do now can you tell me.
Hello dear there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc. 1. Redness + itching: allergy 2. Redness + pain+ watering + decreased vision: infection 3. Redness + pain: inflammation 4. Redness+ foreign body sensation: dryness if there is only redness then it is normal as slight exposure to dust, temperature or air or eyes may be red in morning. Stress may also cause redness. I usually do not treat when there is only redness, you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eyedrop like flogel these measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but it will not have any effect on redness (treating generalredness alone is not necessary also) having said that you should consult local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment.

Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. 1. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). 2. The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is a. Avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. B. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. C. Use antiallergic eyedrop like olopat eyedrop twice daily d. Lubricating eyedrop like flogel thrice daily e. Use mild steroid like flurisone in pulse dose in severe allergy this will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no medicine that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to. This is a provisional diagnosis. Consult your ophthalmologist for detailed examination.

5 truths about protecting your eyes

Myth: Staring at a computer screen all day is bad for the eyes.

Fact: Using a computer does not damage your eyes. However, staring at a computer screen all day can contribute to eyestrain or tired eyes. People who stare at a computer screen for long periods tend not to blink as often as usual, which can cause the eyes to feel dry and uncomfortable. To help prevent eyestrain, adjust the lighting so it doesn't create a glare or harsh reflection on the screen, rest your eyes briefly every 20 minutes, and make a conscious effort to blink regularly so that your eyes stay well lubricated.

What is hypermetropia? What are the causes for that? How it can be prevented and how it can be corrected?

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology

What is hypermetropia? What are the causes for that? How it can be prevented and how it can be corrected?
Hypermetropia is better known as far sighted-ness. It means that a person having hypermetropia tends to have good vision for distance and poor vision for near. The causes are as follows: (1) axial growth of the eye. The eye tends to be short and thus cause hypermetropic refractive error. (2) age related. With progressive age, there occurs a hypermetropic shift. (3) surgical removal of the lens in the eye tends to render the eye highly hypermetropic. (4) children are seen to have hypermetropic refractive errors. To correct hypermetropia, following treatment options are available: (a) glasses/ spectacles. (b) contact lens. (c) refractive surgery. (d) lens surgery-removal of the lens and placement of an artificial intra-ocular lens. Let me know if further assistance required. Take care.

The minimum requirements for undergoing LASIK are age 21 or more, stable refractive error for at least 1 year. Since you fulfil both these you can undergo LASIK surgery. Do consult your doctor for evaluation and other tests like corneal thickness and orbscan. After these tests you can undergo LASIK surgery.
