I am male 75, Recently a week back I have noticed that the stainless steel wire attached to my upper denture missing I doubt whether I might have swallowed the small steel wire during sleep, or it might have fallen while cleaning the dentures during brushing. I have not noticed any pain in my stomach even after a week now. Suggest me what to do?

No need to worry. You should not sleep wearing your denture. Now onwards remove your dentures and keep it in bowl of water before sleeping. And when you go for cleaning of denture, please keep a towel beneath it so that you can locate any broken or missing part of your denture. As of the missing wire part, usually it happens during cleaning of denture. If you feel that you have accidently swallowed then you can consult a hysician. Get a check up done including chest x-ray and other investigations directed by your physician. Hope it will help.

daily oral care

BDS
Dentist, Jalgaon
daily oral care
Twice a day brushing is important part of oral hygeine. You can even use mouthwash to add in the benifit. Use soft tooth brush. Use gentle round motion to clean teeth. Take 10 minutes in morning and night to clean your teeth. Also give equal importance to clean tongue daily. Do gargles after each meal. This will help to loosen the food particles and prevent bad breath n cavity formation. And very important part is visit your dentist every six months.

Hello Doctor, I have visited more than 50 dentists to solve an issue of bad odour in my mouth for over 20 years now but not got a solution. Are there any tests to check the Sulphide content in my saliva, or H.pylori bacteria or any other way to test and take supplements as this is not a dental issue and my dental hygiene is excellent with Brushing after meals, Flossing and oral care. I am a teetotaler.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
bad breath can be due to deposit of plaque and calculus on teeth, dry mouth, throat infection, regular n increase consumption of tabacco, cigarette, alcohol, caffeinated drinks like tea or coffee. use mouthwash twice daily after brushing. increase your water intake n take it at regular intervals. check for any throat infection or stomach upset. reduce your intake of caffeinated drinks n alcoholic beverages n aromatic foods like onions and garlic.

When to Remove Wisdom Teeth?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
When to Remove Wisdom Teeth?

People between the ages of 16 and 19 should have their wisdom teeth evaluated. If they need to be removed, it should be considered before age 20 when generally fewer complications occur. At a younger age, tooth roots are not fully developed, the surrounding bone is softer, and there is less chance of damaging nearby nerves or other structures. There is also less surgical risk and healing is generally faster.

Extractions of wisdom teeth may be performed by a general dentist. If your dentist anticipates any special care will be needed, he or she may refer you to an oral or maxillofacial surgeon. An oral or maxillofacial surgeon is a dentist who specializes in surgery and the removal of wisdom teeth.

Hiii I am 23 year old, my bad habit is chew tobbaco since last six years. So that's why my mouth isn't open properly may be 2 finger. I leave it. So please can you you tell me that what precaution made my mouth again healthy. please suggest me home treatment and any capsules. Or tables which I got easily on Med. Store and nearly 100℅ recovery is possible. On behalf. THANK YOU.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (osmf). Kindly consult an oral & maxillo facial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of osmf. Advise full mouth opening, ballooning exercise & side to side movement of the jaw. Wrap 25 to 30 ice-cream sticks, make a bundle, put it between upper & lower front teeth for 15 minutes thrice a day increase 1 sticks each day.

I have been suffering this below problem from last year. My cheeks are paining when I am watching tv working on my laptop watching movies. I don' t know why. Please suggest me doctor. I went to dental specialist he cleaned my teeth and send me. I scanned my cheeks it leaves me nothing.

BDS
Dentist, Raipur
While watching tv or working on the laptop are your teeth in constant contact knowingly or unknowingly. If yes then it is not the cheeks that are paining but your tmj which is the joint holding both the jaws that pains. Do you also feel sensitivity in your teeth?

Sir I am having a problem with my wisdom teeth which is popping towards my cheek and it is hurting while chewing and moving my jaw. My wisdom teeth has started growing recently and hasn't grown fully, please help.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Get your teeth x-rayed to determine whether there is enough space for the wisdom teeth to grow. If the space is not enough, you might require to get the teeth removed.

TEETH ARE VERY IMPORTANT.CONFIRM WITH PEOPLE WEARING DENTURES!

I have crooked teeth. 5 of them. Can I have a replacement done of those. What are some precautions should I take? How much time it takes? I am 25 year female. Thanks.

BDS, MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Advanced course in maxillofacial sugery

Replacement may not b the best and it's difficult to comprehend what you mean by five crooked teeth but I suggest you consult a orthodontist if required take braces at your age you should try to preserve them rather than to think of loosing or replacing them.

MDS Prosthodontics

Its common to have problem with erupting wisdom teeth. The solution depends on case to case. Sometimes medicines and a little surgical intervention can correct it and there are times when it has to be removed also. So consult a dentist to see what will work best for you.

I think either your taking some med regularly or drinking less water if oral hygiene is poor get scaling polishing done by a dentist than brush twice daily especially at night.
