Dear Lybrate User, you may have come across a number of gimmicking advertisement of medicines which claim to decrease body weight in a very short time. Do not fall prey for such advertisement because the excess weight would not be shredded until each & every underlying cause of being overweight is diagnosed & treated. The basic role behind the process of accumulation of fat in human body is played by Metabolism. Metabolism is the set of life-sustaining chemical transformations within the cells of living organisms. The three main purposes of metabolism are the conversion of food/fuel to energy to run cellular processes, the conversion of food/fuel to building blocks for proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and some carbohydrates, and the elimination of nitrogenous wastes. Accumulation of fat indicates that a considerable amount of the calories which you are taking daily is not used up by the body & is stored as fat. In order to lose the excess fat you need to increase your rate of metabolism. Once your rate of metabolism or BMR is increased your body will use up the excess calories stored as fat in your body. First of all you need to rule out the possibility of the presence of any hormonal disturbance that may be affecting your metabolism. Just conduct a total Thyroid profile test of all your blood (also Serum Testosterone level in case of males). If the reports are within normal limits then you should proceed further to increase your metabolism. If you find any abnormalities in the report you should immediately consult a doctor.

Sitting long hours can lead to muscle aches. And having one kidney we cannot give you many pain killers as its not good. Try to stand or walk few steps every 20 mts. You can use mild physiotherapy exercises for relieving back pain.

Take high fiber low fat diet. Drink lot of water everyday. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. Avoid outside food completely. Ask me directly for customized diet plan for you.

Dear lybrate-user, you are having an anxiety problem which is very clear. From what you are saying it appears that there might be need for medicines. Considering your age it is only apt to start regular medicines after a proper consultation. But what I can suggest you assuming you are otherwise healthy is to take capsule betacap tr 20 mg (if needed 40) an hour before participating in a test/ game/ lecture etc. It will markedly reduce your anxiety and increase your confidence for few hours. It is safe and not an addictive or harmful drug. You should consider proper balanced diet, water intake, sleep, yoga and exercise regimen in addition.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Normally fatty liver over the years to some extent is more or less normal unless you have fatty liver due to abuse or overuse of alcohol consumption take balanced diet with plenty of leafy vegetables, cereals, lean meat instead of red meat. Have lean meat like chicken, fish, eggs, and lots of fruits avoid junk food. Zgo for morning walk followed by free hand exercises. It will be ok.

Cough is the natural reflex action of a human being to clear the throat or breathing passage from obstructions by foreign particles. Whooping cough or pertussis can be identified by the whooping sound that accompanies cold cough. Whooping cough is caused due to bacterial infection or through transmission from the infected person.

The following are few symptoms of whooping cough:

  1. Runny nose and frequent sneezing

Follow these best methods to easily gain weight and get a healthy body - * to gain weight, first take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calories food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of bournvita or complan powder with breakfast. * after 2 hours of breakfast, take 2 bananas or a bowl of boiled soyabeans. Prefer keeping yourself is a dangerous thing. Last year this incident happened. But up to that you think about that it is not good thing as per my advise. What is happend that is over. Why we think. If we think he will come back then we think. Nothing come back. Everybody must respect the natural law. Nobody should not excepted from the natural law. So respect the gods order. Two glasses of milk contain around 14 gram of protein while the polyunsaturated fats in almond add those extra calories when included in the everyday diet. Crush a handful of almonds and add it to the boiling milk. Simmer it for five minutes. You can sweeten it with a tsp of sugar. Then, pour it in a glass and sip it slowly. To make it more effective, you may put in dates and dried figs in the boiling milk. Drink it twice daily for two months.

Sudden Loss Of Consciousness - Ways You Can Cope With It!

When you see someone faint all of a sudden, it leads to chaos around, and you are perplexed not knowing the reason. The sudden fainting or loss of consciousness is Syncope. Syncopal episodes are generally prompted by an unexpected, momentary fall in the flow of blood to the brain, leading to a person passing out and losing muscle control.

Falling causes blood flow to return to the brain, resulting in the person regaining consciousness. The duration of Syncopal episodes is generally for a few seconds or minutes, and it can happen to anyone regardless of age. It does sound scary to lose consciousness suddenly but educating yourself about the signs and symptoms, and the possible causes are the best ways to cope with Syncope.

Symptoms
The trademark sign of syncope is that the patient regularly passes out. The symptoms leading to such a black out episode include:

  1. Legs feeling heavy
  2. Blurry vision
  3. Being puzzled
  4. Rising body temperature
  5. Dizziness and the person going pale
  6. Epigastric distress
  7. Nausea
  8. Sweating
  9. Vomiting
  10. Drop in blood pressure
  11. Weak pulse

However, the extreme symptoms include exertion, chest pains, labored breathing, lower back pain, heart palpitations, constant headaches, central neurologic shortfalls, diplopia and slurred speech.

Causes
Syncope can be triggered by an unresolved medical ailment or from sudden changes in the environment. Falling unconscious can also be caused by emotional stress. Other causes include severe pain or an uncharacteristically low blood sugar. Many people faint when they see blood. Syncope can also be prompted by extreme dehydration coupled with low blood sugar. Syncope can be due to a genetic disorder and can also be caused by a medicinal side-effect.

Ways to cope with Syncope
A person who has had syncopal episodes earlier must know a few things especially when he/she lives alone or while at work or outside. A few tips to manage when you feel a syncope episode is approaching:

  1. When you start feeling the symptoms react with anti-gravity approaches instantly. Either sit down with your head in between knees or lie down so that the blood flow to the brain is recovered.
  2. Seek for a safe and secure place to faint. This is crucial so that you are least hurt in case you fell unconscious.
  3. If you had fainted, when you regain consciousness take time to get on foot. Lie down for some more time and ensure that the blood flow is restored.
  4. Stay hydrated after the episode and it is a good practice to stay well-hydrated always.

Syncope is fairly common, but it is generally people above eighty face a larger risk of being hospitalized due to it the problem. In case one thinks that he or she is facing syncopal episode, they must consult a doctor immediately and get all the necessary tests done to handle it properly.
