Leg exercise kijiye daily I hope you will fit and fine………………………………………………. Basic Leg Exercises The following Basic Leg Exercises should generally be performed 1 - 3 times per week provided they do not cause or increase pain. Ideally they should not be performed on consecutive days, to allow muscle recovery. As your strength improves, the exercises can be progressed by gradually increasing the repetitions, number of sets or resistance of the leg exercises provided they do not cause or increase pain. Swiss Ball Squats Begin this leg exercise in standing with your feet shoulder width apart, your feet facing forwards and a Swiss Ball placed between a wall and your back (figure 1). Slowly perform a squat, keeping your back straight. Your knees should be in line with your middle toes and should not move forward past your toes. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Lunges Begin this leg exercise standing with your back straight in the position demonstrated (figure 2). Slowly lower your body until your front knee is at a right angle. Keep your front knee in line with your middle toe and your feet facing forward. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Hip Abduction Sidelying Begin this leg exercise lying on your side in the position demonstrated (figure 3). Keeping your back and knee straight and foot facing forwards, slowly take your leg upwards tightening the muscles at the side of your thigh / hip (abductors). Hold for 2 seconds and then return to the starting position. Perform 1 – 3 sets of 10 repetitions on each leg provided the exercise is pain free. This exercise can be progressed by adding an ankle weight to your ankle for increased resistance.

I have a bit if pain just below where the ribs end. I got ultrasound of liver resulting fatty liver. The doctor said pain is because if fatty liver. This pain normally gets aroused in the evening when I sit for long. When I lay down or stand it gets away. What should I do.

Kindly take proper ayurveda treatment for fatty liver. Also adopt a healthy lifestyle. Take a proper walk of at least half an hour. Take meals in time. Avoid oily starchy food. Take ample quantity of fruits and salad in your diet.

Since last two days I am feeling weakness after coming back from comfortable toilet process. It takes 2 hours to get back to normal.

HI Include egg in your diet. Do check your calcium and d3. take 8 sessions of S.W.D and I.F.T followed by paravertibral muscle strengthning exercise. Consult physiotherapist for same.

I have back pain since 5 days. As according to the mri report it is :- At L3-4 mild disc bulging is seen with hypertrophied facet joints causing mild indentation of lateral recesses At L4-5 diffuse circumferential bulging and posterior protrusion of disc is seen with hypertrophied facet joints causing mild indentation of thecal sac and lateral recesses. At L5-S1 diffuse circumferential disc bulging is seen with hypertrophied facet joints causing mild indentation of thecal sac and lateral recesses. The lower end of spinal cord and conus medullaris are normal. No intra spinal mass or pri/ para vertebral collection seen. Please suggest what should I do. Thank you.

Dear lybrate-user according to your mri scan, main problem for you is arthritis of facet joints. Mild disc bulges are not causing any pains (which will be leg pains) as your main problem is back pain - options being physiotherapy, facet joint injections as part of pain management. Swimming and pilates excersizes. We can also try radio frequency ablation of the facet joints to relieve symptoms. No surgical indication at present time.

I am 48 year male, when I start walking, after about a couple of minutes by right leg gets cramped from foot right up to the hip for about a minute with a bit of pain and then is normal again for a long period. It happens once or twice in a day. Please advise.

It requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakar, a procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. Can be solved through acupressure/ acupuncture easily. Try this for 3 days. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening.

You are getting pain because of your sitting position for long hours. You need to strengthen your back muscles by doing regular exercise and yoga. Avoid eating chilled and sour food items. Medication. Dashmoolarishta kadha 2spoons twice a day with equal quantity of warm water. Mahayograaj guggul 2-2-2 trayodashaang guggul 2-2-2. All for 6months.

Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired that can also be reason to have frequent sprains in the leg once the oxygen levels in the blood comes down it automatically leads to improper functioning of the joints and muscles and that also might make the hip muscles to become tired thereby straining mildly might lead to leg pain.

Avoid medicine maintain your posture sit straight keep straight your leg in sitting time avoid long sitting and toward bending lifting heavyweight. Do hot fermentation and rest do stretching exercise of back and legs if it work then ok other wise physiotherapy treatment must.

I'm 55 yrs male; since the past 2 weeks i've been getting a severe pain on the rear of my neck towards the right side shoulder and to the upper right arm. Pain killers such as Ulracit & Infra-red light treatment has not given relief. I had a habit of sleeping on a slightly elevated pillow. Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain and inflammation 4) exercise and manual therapy will help in pain free movement. I've joined gym after a long time. And soon after the first day of workout, i've got a muscle strain on my left arm. My right arm feels the normal pain like after every workout. But my left arm has worsen. I'm not able to stretch my arm full, because of the pain in the biceps area. What do I do?

This pain which you are feeling could be due to strain in your biceps because of exertion while gyming. You can start with ice packs at home, gentle anti inflammatory medications, activity restriction like avoid gym till your pain completely subsides, start gradually after pain relief with appropriate pre activity warm up and short increments in daily physical activity.
