You seem to be suffering from some form of autoimmune disorder or arthritis. Further details of your condition and test reports are needed to guide you. Deflazacort in such situations is just to control your disease process. For pain relief you need to take other medicines. Physical therapy in form of regular exercises like swimming, walking are crucial in systemic inflammatory conditions like yours. Such conditions can be associated with weight loss. Consult a pain specialist in your city regarding options available for pain relief in your situation. If you have queries consult again with details.

Exercise regularly including stretching, yoga and exercises by lying on back. Do not sit at one place for longer time, avoid bending and lifting heavy weight. Apply orthomove oil over back twice daily. You may need internal medication. Consult for that.

9 WAYS TO PREVENT AND TREAT LOW BACK PAIN

MBBS, D.ORTHO, DNB (Ortho), Fellowship Joint Replacement, MNAMS
Orthopedist, Mumbai
9 WAYS TO PREVENT AND TREAT LOW BACK PAIN

Back pain is difficult to treat and easy to prevent. Preventing back pain may be the simplest way to deal with it. In this article, you can find tips for helping to prevent back pain.

1. Exercises and physiotherapy
This is the mainstay of non-surgical treatment of low back pain. Exercises help you prevent as well as cure the back pain. Regular dedicated exercises at home or under the supervision of a physiotherapist help strengthen your muscles and reduced the load on the bones of the spine thus help to reduce degeneration of the spine.

2. Minimize and avoid twisting motions

The use of twisting motions should be carefully monitored, and scaled back or eliminated as appropriate. When lifting heavy objects, twisting should be avoided. When doing heavy work, such as housework, try to keep twisting to a minimum. In other activities, pay close attention to how you are moving your spine, as well as any warning signs such as pain or tightness, that may indicate trouble. Scale back on the twisting according to the warning signs your body gives you.

3. Drink plenty of water

Our bodies are comprised of approximately 70% water. Enough water keeps us fluidic, rather than stiff. Drinking plenty of water enhances the height of intervertebral disks, keeping them the healthy shock absorbers they are. Water is necessary for nearly every bodily process so is good to have in generous supply, at least, 8 glasses per day. It is almost impossible to drink too much water.

4. Live an active life and strengthen your abs

Exercise and activity keep the muscles of the spine strong. The most important muscles to strengthen to avoid back pain are the abdominals. Include stretching in your fitness program to avoid stiffness, which causes pain. Another reason to stay flexible is that stiff muscles are a precursor to injury.

5. Maintain a healthy weight

Maintaining a healthy weight is generally an excellent way to prevent all kinds of diseases and discomforts. For the spine, it avoids compression and loading of the intervertebral disks, prevents postural abnormalities, such as anterior pelvic tilt, and interrupts a sedentary lifestyle, with its accompanying stiff and/or weak muscles.

6. Find the best sleeping positions

Finding a sleeping position that works for you can help you avoid placing unnecessary strains on your back or neck. Doctors tend to vary when recommending ideal sleep positions, so being guided by your comfort levels and using your own judgement are a good accompaniment to his or her advice.

7. Warm up

For those who exercise, and that should be everyone, warm ups are a must. Warm up means 5-10 minutes of light aerobic activity just prior to the exercise session. The purpose of a warm-up is to acclimate the muscles to a more intense activity level gradually enough to prevent injury, and therefore, pain. Recommendations by experts vary as to whether the warm-up period should include stretching.

8. Cool down

The cool down period after an exercise period must include stretching. During cool down, your muscles are still warm from exercising and are very receptive to stretching. Stretching will be less painful during cool down, as well. Stretching relieves muscle tightness, which is one cause of back pain. Stretching also helps to balance the action of muscles, enhancing ideal alignment, and relieving joint strain.

9. Purposely interrupt long periods of sitting

If you sit for long periods of time, force yourself to get up from your chair as much as your work environment will permit. Sitting loads the spine and compresses the disks, leading to disk problems. Slaving over a computer for long periods of time can also cause posture problems, such as kyphosis, and neck problems.

Hi" it is important to keep in mind that there are many forms of arthritis, and a specific diagnosis of the type you have may help to direct the proper treatment. Although there is no cure for most types of arthritis, early diagnosis and appropriate management are important, especially for inflammatory types of arthritis" daily exercise and healthy diet can slow the process of disease. Best wishes.

My younger brother suffering from bipolar depression. Age 17 years old. Any ayurveda medicine.

My younger brother suffering from bipolar depression. Age 17 years old. Any ayurveda medicine.
Bipolar Disorder is a form of severe mental illness, characterised by episodes of depression and Hypomania/mania (elevated mood). For a clear diagnosis, initial episodes must occur in absence of brain condition, head injury, or illicit drugs misuse. Later episode may be precipitated by drugs use or other medical conditions like infection etc. I think Bipolar disorder is often misdiagnosed and improperly treated. Equally, if someone has clear cut diagnosis, then then must receive adequate and carefully monitored allopathic treatment with mood stabilisers like sodium valproate or lithium or low dose neuroleptics like olanzapine or quetiapine. I don't think Ayurvedic treatment will work of this disorder. I recommend you have your brother evaluated by a qualified psychiatrist to establish diagnosis. Thereafter he will need medicinal & psychotherapeutic intervention to engage him in treatment plan, comply with medicine regime and attend appointments, bring about life style change and engage in low stimulating activity to reduce risk to hypomanic or manic relapse. Family will also need support, education and empowerment to help themselves and help him. Bipolar disorder is a complex and complicated disorder but treatable if addressed in a professional manner and cared with a compassionate approach. You can read many of my articles on mental health problems on www.roshanjain.com. If he wishes to consult me in Mumbai or Bangalore then visit appointment page of my website and book appointments. Equally, you can do so via Lybrate. Best wishes.

Lot inflamation is felt in my both legs from foot to knee and as well in some parts of my upper body under arm pits, don't know why?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I will have to understand why you are having these pains in multiple joints of the body. You need to get some blood tests done and send me the results so that I can see them and advise accordingly: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels. The reports of these tests can give us a clue to whether there is any inflammation going on, also if there is any deficiency, that can be corrected as well. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Gentle massage over the affected part with lukewarm herbal pain relieving oil for 20 minutes followed by hot fomentation. It will relax the muscles and the veins of your affected part improving the blood supply to the organ and giving strength to it. Please avoid over-use of the part affected i. E.
