Hi, I had a ACL surgery exactly one year back. I did rehabilitation after the surgery. But I don't feel very confident in playing football again. My knee looks fragile and very weak. What to do ? I'm very afraid I might tear the ligament again.

Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

If you are having problem since 3 months, it would be best to avoid this competition. First visit a hand surgeon, get proper diagnosis. Only after you are pain free, go to competition. Otherwise you may risk your career.

Using knee cap is not a problem you can use it for long not an issue but remove it while rest. Strengthening & isometric exes play an important role in knee pain. Support help you to avoid stress & jerks on the joint while walking no harm.

Dear you can follow these methods for relief from Backache(back pain): * First correct your sitting posture. Do not bend your lower back.You can use lumber belt for support. * Do regular back strength exercises.Move your clockwise and anticlock wise. * Do not sleep on very soft bed ,sleep on slight hard cotton mattress. * Do Tadasana and Bhjangasana for back strengthening.If you can not understand these asans you can consult me. Surya namaskar is also best asan in back pain. * Take calcium rich diet and calcium and vitamin D supplements regularly . *Do not Take any heavy weight or heavy work. * If you are over weight then follow a good and effective diet plan to loose some kilos of weight. A good way to diffuse general body pains that are more chronic and recurring in nature is to take a long hot bath in water in which a few cups of Epsom salts have been added. If you suspect your body and pains are due to stress, do your best to get plenty of sleep and try to reduce or eliminate the cause of your stress. Meditation, deep breathing, yoga and simple daydreaming are excellent methods to unwind and sleep better. Aches and pains can also be felt throughout the body as a result of depression. Depression is the feeling of overwhelming sadness or loss of interest in things around you that were once important.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am dr akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are procedure which have been described for total knee arthroplasty after patellectomy but it is not commonly done because either allografts are used or femoral condyles, honestly I do not have a personal experience in it. No 1: Rotator Cuff Isometrics Basic isometric exercise is too often overlooked and underused. This is a shame as I find it very effective in reducing a lot of shoulder pains in many people that it rightly deserves my No 1 spot despite them being perceived as boring and simplistic nature. Although recently they are gaining some popularity and credibility again. Isometric exercises for those non therapists reading, is when a muscle/tendon is asked to contract but there is no movement of the joint and so no change in the length of the muscle/tendon, just like when you flex your pecs and biceps in the mirror after a shower… No! just me that does that then, ok moving on…! In my clinic I see a lot of people with acute shoulder pains brought on usually after an increase in activity, sport or training and most I beleive have a reactive cuff tendinopathy. Most of these shoulders have quite high pain levels for the first few weeks and we know that isometrics are great for reducing pain (source) and they do produce some significant forces and tension in the cuff, so can be thought of beginning the needed loading program. There are lots of variations and I don't think it matters too much how you do them, it's more important how hard and how much you do them, more on this in a bit. The isometric exercises I usually give are a Back of the hand Wall Press' used when I suspect a more superior cuff tendinopathy, it's done simply by standing next to a wall and pressing the back of the hand into the wall in the scapular plane (called Scaption) at approx 30° of abduction.
