How to identify type one and type 2 diabetes what are the test and where I can do it in pune.
This is a right questions because you should aware about the difference in between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes occur in children. In this diabetes insulin inharrent to secrets by beta cell of pancreas so artificial insulin injected to the patient. Type 2 diabetes occur in adults mainly. In this diabetes insulin secret but not in sufficient amount by pancreas so first you can control by medication. Everyone can be prone to develop diabetes due to life style change, heridritry or obesity. These are the causeing factors to developing diabetes.

You can control diabetes by following a proper balanced diet chart. You need to have more of whole grain fibrous food rather than refined food product. Eat at regular time interval. Do exercise regularly. Avoid taking sweet products. Eat fruits, vegetables in liberal amount.

Hi lybrate-user, normal range is in fasting 90mg/do and post lunch120mg/dl. But as the fluctuations are common in this you need to do monthly once that will be sufficient. Go for hba1c test to know accurately.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Madam hypothyroidism is a thyroxine hormone deficiency disease, hence treatment has ti be continued for lifetime. As your TSH is 1.96 mU/L, it is better to continue with the same dose. You may check TSH agai after 8 weeks and if TSH goes further low, then one can look at reducing the dose. But right now, continue the same 100 mcg per day. Thanks.

I am 30 years old male. I was diagnosed with a TSH level 513 in last August. My doctor have asked me to take 100 MCG thyroxine tablet. Thereafter my thyroid level came under the limits. Recently in February month I felt a pain in my chest, so I got my thyroid and cholesterol level checked. The report was a follow TSH 34 and cholesterol 221. Seeing this my doctor have increased my dosage to 125 MCG. Now on 13-mar I got my thyroid checked again, the TSH level is 0.25 (range 0.45 to 5.0) the hypothyroidism seems to be changed to hyperthyroidism. At the same time I am undergoing chest pain again and again. Please advice what should I do to cure myself?

Hello, Thanks for the query. TSH level of 0.25 m U/L is a bit lower than norma l. This is because the dosage of Levothyroxine being taken is a bit more. Ideally TSH should be maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L, then one will be free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Sometimes high level of thyroxine can increase the heart rate, even there can be palpitations. It is better to reduce the dose by 12.5 mcg per day. Then check TSH after 6 weeks. Thanks.

Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance... if you keep in touch personally.

Hello, Under diabetic condition insufficient insulin prevents the body's cells to absorb glucose from the blood to use as energy as a result body starts burning fats for energy resulting in reduction of body weight unless sugar level in blood is normalised. Go for maintaing anti diabetics. Your diet be easily digestible on time under diabetic norms. Keep, monitoring your anti diabetics medication. Tk, care.
