The only other possible option could be to go for a smile makeover utilizing veneers and/or metal-free crowns. Please share some photographs for a more precise opinion.

Avoid Tobacco

Tobacco prematurely ages the mouth and leads to mouth cancers. Smoking tobacco stains teeth and interrupts calcium absorption in your body.

I'm having pulpitides on my two wisdom teeth. Now I'm taking antibiotics for three days. And I'm going to get my teeth removed 3 days later. The problem is that my heart rates keep accelerated, and I have some headaches too. Looks like my infections are not 100% under control. Q1, Can I still go for teeth extraction 3 days later? Or can I still wait for 3 days? Q2, What should I do to minimize any complication during and after the surgery? Thanks a billion.

Hello, it is a systemic problem. You need to consult a physician, and get your blood pressure and cardiac levels checked. Under the physician's recommendation, you can get your tooth removed or not.

Helo sir I am Akash I am 25 yrs old man n I have suffering from cavity problem so what should I di.

Dentist, Ahmedabad
6- Cavity Having cavities is not a serious problem at all. Cavities which are not too deep can be excavated and be restored by a dental cement. Cavities that are very deep can be cured by root canal treatment followed by crown ( cap ). For better prevention of cavities , 1- Follow proper brushing technique. 2- Brush twice a day 3-clean your teeth immediately every time after you eat food or liquids. 4- Undergo scaling ( cleaning of teeth) at the interval of every 5-6 months. 5- Visit dentist for regular oral cavity check up every 4 months for the early diagnosis and prevention of dental diseases. Jay Swaminarayan.

Hey doc. I have recently completed my treatment of rct bt still capping has to be done. I have something small ulcer type under my tongue pains alot slight white in colour. please suggest any home remedy. And please clarify if it is bcz of injctns. Worried my 2nd ques is also tooth related. My teeth has been broken slightly on which rct was done. What is the reason behind it. I have not chewed any hard food Ans soon thanks for your concern.

Dentist, Lucknow
Ulcers beneath your tongue is not because of any injection. It may be common apthous ulcers. For this avoid spicy food, do warm saline gargles three times a day, and take becasole tab once in a day. Your second question tooth can be break due to any trauma also or if their natural composition is weak. Doing root canal is good treatment so do not be anxious and get your treatment finished.

My left canine tooth is crooked Is it possible to straighten it with braces? I am 26 Male. I am willing to get braces for other slightly crooked teeth too. Please help me.

Dentist, Bangalore
Crooked teeth are correctable with orthodontic treatment, which usually consists of using dental braces to move your teeth back into the right position. There are several types of dental braces available today, with different colors and styles to match your personal tastes. Many adults are now choosing clear braces that blend in with the color of their teeth, helping to hide the fact that they're wearing dental braces at all! Dental braces aren't the only orthodontic treatment option. For mild forms of malocclusions, an orthodontic retainer may be all you need. Invisalign® has also become a popular way to correct crooked teeth -- Invisalign consists of a series of clear, removable aligners that straighten your teeth without the use of wires or brackets. For teeth that are crooked in the front, you may choose veneers. Unlike dental braces, porcelain veneers completely cover crooked teeth and are also ideal for correcting stained or chipped teeth.

I have a cronic problem which i am facing since last 5years. My mouth diameter is reduced so much in that i can not even pass my single finger. In short, the space between my upper and lower teeth is reduced to the 10 mm(1cm). I have been chewing gutkha since i was 18 years old and right now i am almost 42years old. In past two years i got two big ulcers behind my molar tooth and i had done biopsy of all two ulcers. Both reports were normal. One dentist suggested me to remove ulcer by laser and i was gone through that treatment. But at present,my problem become so worse that i can not eat a thing bigger than 1 cm in diameter. One oral surgeon suggest me to do an oral flap surgery. So my question is that will it be benificial to me? Is there any other option rathere than gone through the surgery. I am afaid of such big surgery. Once i was taken to the operation theatet, but my blood pressure became lower so much and surgery could not be performed. And tell me something about flap surgery. How long will it take to complete surgery? Since how long i will have to maintain certain care taking steps of my buccal mucosa? And what is the success rate of such surgery?

I am really sorry to hear about your condition. Your condition is known "oral sub mucous fibrosis" in which fibres form in the oral submucosa & reduce the mouth opening. When it's gets severe the mouth opening keeps reducing & there is burning sensation in mouth & food pipe even when u eat mild non spicy food. This condition is pre cancerous & not cancer, so you should really get yourself treated before its too late. There are injections to cure this fibre but it's given in mild to moderate cases. In severe cases surgery is unavoidable. In surgery the fibres formed inside your cheeks & lips will be cut so that your mouth opening will improve. You might also be given those injections to dissolve the fibres & prevent them from forming again. Do not be afraid of the surgery, it's for your benefit. A normal doctor will not perform this surgery. It is done by an oral surgeon who will not give you false advice. So have faith in your surgeon & go ahead. All the best.

Normally we do not admit a patient for tooth ache in hospital. But if the doctor has advised you this there must be some other reason. Consult the doctor again and confirm about requirement for admission in hospital for the dental treatment.

I have paioria in my teeth and I very pained in teeth so tell me the best medicine.

MDS(Prosthodontist), BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
This problem cannot be solved with only medication you need to visit dentist for deep cleaning of your gums as well as teeth because in this condition the root cause of problem is bacteria residing in the layer and hard deposits around your teeth and inside your gums so, medication can be only effective after routiene deep cleaning and polishing of your teeth.
