Patience is the key. It took nine months for your tummy muscles to stretch to accommodate a full-term baby. So it makes sense that it can take that long, or longer, to tighten up again. The speed and degree of this tightening up depends on a few factors, including: • What shape and size you were before you conceived your baby. • How much weight you gained during pregnancy. • How active you are. • Something you can't do anything about: your genes. You may find it easier to shed the weight if: • You gained less than 13.6kg and exercised regularly during pregnancy. • You breastfeed. • This is your first baby. NOTE you shouldn't aim to be back to your pre-pregnancy weight until about six months after your baby's birth. How can you safely lose weight to help your belly look better? Breastfeeding may help, especially in the early months after giving birth. If you breastfeed, you'll burn extra calories to make milk – about 500 calories a day. You may lose your pregnancy weight more quickly than mums who bottle-feed their babies. Breastfeeding also triggers contractions that help to shrink your womb, making it a workout for your whole body. However, if you eat more than you burn off, you will put on weight, even if you breastfeed. It's fine to lose weight while you are breastfeeding. Your body is very efficient at making milk, and losing up to 1kg a week shouldn't affect the amount of milk you make. However, if you have a newborn to look after, you'll need plenty of energy. Trying to lose weight too soon after giving birth may delay your recovery and make you feel even more tired. It’s especially important not to attempt a very low-calorie diet. So try to wait until you've had your postnatal check before start trying to lose weight. Eating healthily, combined with gentle exercise, will help you to get in shape. The following general guidelines will help you to achieve and maintain a healthy weight: • Make time for breakfast. • Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. • Include plenty of fibre-rich foods, such as oats, beans, lentils, grains and seeds, in your diet. • Include a starchy food such as bread, rice, pasta (preferably wholegrain varieties for added fibre) or potatoes in each meal. • Go easy on high-fat and high-sugar foods, such as biscuits and cakes. • Watch your portions at mealtimes and the number and type of snacks you eat between meals. There's no right answer about how many calories a day you should have. The amount you need to eat depends on your weight and how active you are. What else can you do to help regain your pre-pregnancy belly? Exercise can help to tone stomach muscles and burn calories. If you exercised right up until the end of your pregnancy, you can do some light exercise and stretching from the start. If you stopped exercising during your pregnancy or are a newcomer to fitness, it is better to start exercising more slowly. Fitness aside, all new mums can begin pelvic floor exercises and work on gently toning up lower tummy muscles as soon as they feel ready. This may help you to get back to your pre-pregnancy shape and help to flatten your tummy. When you feel up to it, take your baby out for walks in his pushchair. Getting out and about will help to lift your mood and exercise your body gently. You may find there are pushchair workouts with other new mums in your local park.

Symptoms and Diagnosis of Heart Attack

A person usually gets a heart attack when there is a blockage in the arteries of the heart. This is an emergency situation that can result in a fatality or death if it is not treated immediately. Not all heart attacks will have a crushing pain in the chest right in the beginning, there are a number of symptoms that can show the slow progression of this attack over a few hours. So how do you know if you are having a heart attack, and what kind of treatment will be required? This article seeks to answer all your questions.

Discomfort in the Chest: The patient will usually feel like there is some pressure and squeezing in the chest or pain or even fullness right in the centre. This pain can come and go every few minutes and it should not be ignored.

Pain and Discomfort in other Parts of the Body: There may be some amount of pain and discomfort in other parts of the body including the arms, the jawline, back, neck, stomach and even the teeth. This pain can also travel down to the abdomen above umbilicus. In case there is persistent pain along with the chest discomfort, then a doctor must be contacted immediately.

Other Symptoms: When you feel breathless without any reason or medical cause, and also when you experience symptoms like anxiety, indigestion, vomiting, nausea, light headedness, dizzy spells and fatigue, you may be suffering from a heart attack.

Immediate Treatment: Once you begin to experience these symptoms along with chest discomfort and chest pain, it is imperative to call the emergency unit of the nearest hospital or get in touch with a cardiologist. Until then, you will need to lie down and chew aspirin if you are not allergic to the same. This is usually more efficient that swallowing.

Diagnosis of heart attack: Heart attack is diagnosed if patient has 2 criteria out of following 3-

  1. Pain or discomfort thought to be due to heart disease

  2. ECG suggestive of heart attack

  3. Elevated levels of cardiac enzymes (CK-MB and Troponin) in blood test (these levels start rising after 6 to 12 hours of heart attack)

Once you reach doctor an ECG should be done immediately along with blood pressure and pulse. If ECG shows heart attack then immediate action needs to be taken. Remember a normal first ECG does not rule out a heart attack. So a series of ECGs may be ordered by the doctor and at proper time blood test of cardiac enzymes may be done. Ruling out a heart attack may need an observation and testing up to 6 – 12 hours as cardiac enzyme test shows results only after that period.

It is unlikely to get pregnant on the third day of your periods. Even then wait for your next period and if it gets delayed get a pregnancy test done.

Hey I have a doubt regarding an unprotected sex. I had an unprotected sex last week and two hours I drink ginger tea as I read about this remedy on Google and then the very next I took I pill. I had my sex around 5 pm and I took I pill around 2 pm. Last month I had my periods on 20 October and I did intercourse on 6 November and after taking I pill I was having white discharge but it was normal but as my dates are near the white discharge increases is there any relation between I pill and white discharge I am worried. पीपल वृक्ष के औषधीय फायदे तो हैं ही इसका धार्मिक महत्त्व भी है. पीपल का धार्मिक महत्व इतना ज्यादा है कि हिन्दू धर्म के लोग इस वृक्ष की पूजा करते हैं. पीपल को एकमात्र ऐसा वृक्ष माना जाता है जो कि रात में भी ऑक्सीजन छोड़ता है. यह एक बहुत विशाल वृक्ष है इसलिए इसके निचे काफी ठंडक होती है. पीपल के जड़, सूखे फल, पत्ते और बीज हमारे स्वास्थ्य के लिए काफी फायदेमंद होते हैं. तो अच्छी सेहत के लिए क्या हैं पीपल के फायदे आइए जानें.

1. पेट की समस्याओं में
पेट में कई तरह की समस्याएं तो अनियमित खान-पान की वजह से हो जाती हैं. इन समस्याओं में प्रमुख हैं पेट दर्द, गैस, कब्ज और दस्त आदि. इन सभी समस्याओं में पीपल की पत्तियों का रस प्रतिदिन सुबह-शाम पिने से राहत मिलती है.
2. नपुंसकता और बांझपन में
पुरुष और स्त्री में नपुंसकता या बांझपन की समस्या भी कई लोगों को परेशान करती है. इसका समाधान भी पीपल में है. पीपल के पेड़ की जटों को काटकर इससे काढ़ा बनायें. इस काढ़ा को पिने से आपकी समस्या दूर हो सकती है.
3. शुगर की बिमारी में
शुगर में भी पीपल वृक्ष का काफी लाभ देखा गया है. पीपल, अमरुद और आम के तीन-तीन पत्ते पीसकर पेस्ट बना लें. इसके सेवन से शरीर से रक्त शर्करा का स्तर कम होता है.
4. खुजली या दाद में
त्वचा पर कई पर दाद या खुजली की समस्या का सामना करना पड़ता है. इसके लिए या तो आप पीपल के चार पत्ते रोज कच्चा चबाएं या फिर इसके छाल का काढ़ा बनाकर प्रभावित स्थान पर लगाएं.
5. ह्रदय की समस्याओं में
ह्रदय से सम्बंधित तमाम समस्याओं से निजात पाने में भी आप पीपल का उपयोग कर सकते हैं. इसके लिए पीपल की 15 हरी पत्तियों को एक गिलास पानी में एक तिहाई बचने तक अच्छी तरह उबालें. अब इस काढ़े को सुबह हर तीन घंटे पर लेते रहने से लाभ होता है.
6. श्वसन की समस्याओं में
श्वसन से सम्बंधित किसी भी समस्या में पीपल के पेड़ की छाल का उपययोग कर सकते हैं. इसके लिए पीपल के पेड़ की छाल के अन्दुरुनी हिस्से को सुखाकर उसका चूर्ण बना लें. इस चूर्ण का सेवन करने से आपको श्वसन से सम्बंधित समस्या से निपटने में राहत मिलती है.
7. त्वचा के लिए
त्वचा में पड़ने वाली झाइयाँ और अन्य समस्याओं से भी लड़ने में पीपल हमारी मदद करता है. इसके लिए पीपल के जड़ को काटकर उसे पानी में अच्छी तरह भिगो कर पिस लें. फिर इस पेस्ट को अपने चेहर पर लगाने से त्वचा में निखार आएगा.
8. खांसी जुकाम में
खांसी या जुकाम होने पर आप पीपल के सहयता से राहत महसूस कर सकते हैं. इसके लिए 5 पीपल के पत्तों को दूध के साथ उबाल कर इसमें चीनी डालकर इसे दिन में 2 बार पिएं. ऐसा करने से आपको काफी लाभ मिलेगा.
9. घाव के उपचार में
कई बार जाने-अनजाने में चोट लग जाने से हमें घाव का सामना करना पड़ता है. पीपल के पत्तों के प्रयोग स आप इन घावों को ठीक कर सकते हैं. इसके लिए आपको गर्म पीपल के पत्ते प्रभावित क्षेत्र में लगाना होता है.
10. दमा के उपचार में
दमा भी एक बेहद गंभीर बीमारी है. दमा के मरीज पीपल के तने के छाल के अन्दर के हिस्से निकालकर सुखा लें. इसके सुखने के बाद इसका चूर्ण पीड़ित व्यक्ति को पानी के साथ दें. इससे काफी हद तक राहत मिलती है.
11. ज्वाइंडिस में
ज्वाइंडिस को पीलिया भी कहा जाता है. पीलिया में पीपल के 3-4 पत्तों का रस निकाल लें. पीपल के पत्ते के इस रस में मिश्री मिलाकर दिन में 3-4 बार पियें ऐसा करने से पीड़ित व्यक्ति को आराम मिलता है.
12. दांतों के लिए
10 ग्राम पीपल की छाल, 2 ग्राम काली मिर्च और कत्था का बारीक मिश्रण तैयार करें. इसे पीपल के तने से बने दातुन के साथ मंजन के रूप में प्रयोग करें. ऐसा करने से दांतों या मसूड़ों का दर्द, दांतों की बदबू, दांतों का हिलना आदि दूर हो सकता है.
