What are the dangers of having high cholesterol? Can other problems develop? What I need to take care for maintain normal.

MBBS, MD-General Medicine, DM - Cardiology
Cardiologist, Secunderabad
High cholesterol can lead to blockages in major blood vessels supplying heart, brain, kidney, gut, legs etc. Blockages in these leads to reduced blood supply to the affected part and can cause related problems. Good food, exercise are advised. Apart from this you need to control any other risk factors like diabetes, high bp etc if any.

My age is 50 years. I am suffering from neck, shoulder pain which spreads to upper arms sometime. I also have lower back pain. Please provide some homeopathic medicine.

Diploma in homeopathy, B. Sc
Homeopath, Gurgaon
Pain is a symptom of some defect in the body. To numb the pain one can take painkillers, but that does not address the underlying cause. To remove pain from the roots one needs to know the cause. And for that you have to describe it better.

Dear lybrate user. Phimosis is a congenital narrowing of the opening of the foreskin so that it cannot be retracted. Phimosis is a very common problem. In most of the cases you can clear the problem yourself. Phimosis could cause moderate to severe pain while having vaginal intercourse. Apply oil on your foreskin and on the glans. Move the foreskin forward and back slowly without hurting you much. Because the oil is lubricant, it will be easier than without oil. Do this forward and back movement 20 times several times in a day. Repeat the same every day for around one month. You will get the elasticity and you will be able to retract the foreskin completely. In case if there is no result from the above massage, you can always go for a minor surgical procedure called circumcision. Take care.

Medications, exercise and massage do not work. Surgery is the solution for your problem. Get yourself examined by a plastic surgeon before going ahead with any treatment.

Hi. There are many reasons of getting tanned/ dark colored. One of the major causes is sunlight. If that is not the case, then other causes can be - a recent or underlying illness/ diseases, stress/ tension, anger, unhappiness, negative thinking, anxiety, nervousness, fear, etc. (N.B.: exposure to morning sunlight for 15-20 minutes is essential for all of all for synthesis of Vitamin D by the body for strong bones. Strong bones leads to strong immunity).

first take tablets after one hour take alcohol. it is not good to take two in one time. it is better to avoid alcohol it is not good for health. weekly once it is preferable. regularly means you may use additional medicine for this attitude. so maintain weekly once. dont take regularly. it is better to mix more water with alcohol. dont take less water. it is better to take with coconut water. take light beer not strong one.dont take non veg food. take light food. snacks are compulsory maintain like that. food is must after alcohol. better to take butter milk before bed. it reduces the severity of the alcohol.dont think too much about the problem. dont sit alone and dont think alone. it is better to take with friends. maintain your dose of administration. sleep more time take good food. relax all the time. better to go movie in alchohol time. be friendly with others. be sociable all the time and be happy all the time. ok all the best.

I am suffered from varicose veins, I have tried ever thing medicines, homeopathic treatment, but I am not able to cure it, so please suggest me .so that I can cure it.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, FIAGES(Fellowship in minimal access surgery), FMAS (Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery)
General Surgeon, Ghaziabad
Hi. Varicose veins once they occur it's difficult to get rid of them with medicines. You can only prevent further deterioration and complications. If they are causing pain, increasing despite all treatment or development of ulcer over ankle and blackening of skin are indications for surgery. Surgery can get rid of varicose veins and it's complications. Now a days laser treatment is also available. Keep your limb elevated, avoid prolong standing and running. You can use graded compression stockings. No good medications are available. For further queries consult online or in person by appointment.
