Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Sir I am suffering from hemophelia I am 38 years old I am having problem in my knee joint due to which I am not able to walk freely and have to wait for seconds before starting walk after long sitting what should I do sir.

Did you injure your knee? I would recommend xray of both knees standing ap and lat views. Get your serum esr, ra, crp and aso.

Apply hot fomentation Do contrast bath therapy for feet twice a day Do not wear flat footwear Keep silicone insoles in footwear Do ankle pumps & stretching Do back, knee & ankle isometric exercise Avoid long standing, take rest breaks of at least 5-10 min while doing work Avoid overexertion Avoid forward bending activities Avoid oily & fried foods & also avoid too much intake of sweets Have plenty of fluids.

Please advice on swollen foot and ankles, other than hypertensive drugs side effects.

Since you have already consulted many doctors, I need certain information from you to be able to advise on what will the best management for her: - detailed neurological charting of lower limbs including motor, sensory and evaluation of deep tendon reflexes - mri of involved region of spine - dynamic x rays (flexion & extension views) to look for instability in spine. If you can furnish this information and her brief clinical history including duration of pain and neurological involvement or not, I should be able to advise you for her. Start with physiotherapy sessions and learn exercise for spine and knee joint. Don't sit on floors. Use lumber spine belt and knee cap open patella. Take calcium and methylcobalamine supplement with glucosamine for three months minimum.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Sit straight maintain your posture and do spine and legs stretching exercise avoid long standing sitting keep equal balance on both legs.

You should take Acupressure therapy and take Biochemic Kali phos 3x + Nat sulph 3x +Nat mur 3x+ Sillicia 12x 4 tab each thrice a day with warm water and take it 5 days

Did take ust and ift for pain relief for shoulder and back region for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from physiotherapist best wishes.

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

First of all you should follow some basic thing 1. Avoid=hot and cold at time 2. Less the sugar as much as possible if you want to eat sweet take juggery which is black 3. Do not drink water after meal drink at the time of meal sip by sip up to 150 ml 4. Avoid late night sleep 5. Yogaraj guggul 1 tab before lunch and dinner 6. Rasna sapatak kadha 2 tsp before lunch and dinner.

Increase the quantity of fruits and vegetables and low calorie foods. Avoid intake of too much salt as it may be a factor for increasing body weight. Milk products like cheese, butter etc. And non-vegetarian foods should be avoided as they are rich in fat. Mint is very beneficial in losing weight. A chutney of green mint with some simple spices can be taken with meals. Mint tea also helps. Spices like dry ginger, cinnamon, black pepper etc. Are good for loosing weight and can be used in a number of ways. Regular intake of carrot juice. Avoid rice and potato, which contain a lot of carbohydrates. Among cereals wheat is good. Vegetables like bitter gourd (karela), and bitter variety of drumstick are useful in loosing weight. Honey is an excellent home remedy for obesity. It mobilizes the extra deposited fat in the body allowing it to be utilized as energy for normal functions.

Kindly show me xrays of both knee. (tkr) total knee replacement is a good procedure for oa/ra knee. When done in properly selected patient, it gives uniformly good results. In our series we have over 95% satisfied patients. Pain disappears & patients are able to resume activities of daily living (adl) in 2-3 wks. It should be done before the patient becomes bed ridden. No use of doing operation, when patient is not able to take benefit of surgery. Kindly show me x-rays & other reports so that a final decision is taken.

Hi, this is Dr. Hitin mathur from new delhi. Welcome to lybrate. As far as your back pain is concerned it may be on account of 2 reasons- 1) your posture and job profile if prolonged sitting is causing excessive pressure on your back vertebra leading to pain. 2) your vitamin d levels may be low on account of low sun exposure due to your indoor job. So get your vitamin d and serum uric acid tests done fasting and an x ray of ls spine ap and lateral view. The x ray should be done empty stomach in the morning and tab charcoal 4 tabs and tab dulcolax 3 tabs should be taken at bedtime the night before the x rays. The tablets are to clear the bowel to get a clear x ray picture. Revert back with reports. In the meantime you can start tab zinase d 3 times a day after meals, tab pantocid 40 mg's once a day before breakfast and tab corcium k2 once a day on the evening. You can also learn spinal extension exercises from a physiotherapist and start doing them 3 times a day 20 mins each session. Avoid prolonged sitting, weight lifting and forward bending. Hot fomentation with hot water bag can help. Revert back with reports.
