I am 54 years old & have been suffering from back pain for the last more than 15 years. I consulted many ortho doctors but with symptomatic relief only for some time. Now I also get pain in my hip side & during sleep at night I can not turn due to severe pain. What remedies do you suggest?

Life-style correction 1) correct your sitting posture. 2) take small pillow or back rest for lower back. 3) foot should rest to floor easily. 4) take small break after 1 hr & walk few steps. 5) do neck & upper back extension, give feedback after 4 days. Other tips 1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello lybrate user, leg pain after running is common due to spasm in the leg muscles known as tibialis anterior which functions to pull the foot towards your body during walking, running. When a person runs or exerts an unaccustomed stress there occurs production of lactic acid in the muscle which is quite painful. Relief by: rest ice application stretching exercises will help a lot god bless you.

Most common cause of low back pain in younger generation is mechanical backache. Which arises due to ill posture, improper lifestyle combined with no workout or exercises. Few patients suffer from pathological backache. Which has causes other than mechanical. First step is to rule out any pathology and then move to improve lifestyle follow ergonomic lifestyle in office and home. Can be easily searched on internet. Hello. Unsual sound from knees is not always a disease. It can be absolutely normal. As far as other joint pains are concerned you need to see a Rheumatologist. Do not worry, does not sound like a dreaded disease.

Long standing is your problem so stretching exercise must in daily routine at this time you should to go for physiotherapy for back relaxation treatment. Avoid long standing tk break between work.

Tk muscle relaxant medicine and heat fermentation avoid all exercise at that time after relief start isometric exercise if it work then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy treatment and x-ray bcoz pain is chronic.

Try to sit straight with your back support, avoid forward bending go to a physiotherapist to learn back strengthening exs and do it regularly it will help you.

I had a problem named ostreochondral fragment adjacent to midline removed and now lack of cartilage tissue in my left knee. Can you pls tell me the precautions that I have to take and also pls tell me the sleeping posture as when I wake up, I feel a lot of pain in my knee.

Do take ift and laser therapy for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from neuro physiotherapist and keep a thin support of cotton bedsheets beneath both the knee and avoid joining both knees together while sleep.

Hello lybrate-user- pain during menses is due to improper tone of uterus muscles. Use dashmoolaristha 2 tsp twice daily for 10 days before menses. This single medicine will cure all of your menstrual problems (do not use the medicine more than ten days as the body will become habitual to it and will not respond quickly)
