Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning or surgical removal procedures for the mucosa above the tooth or the tooth itself. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

I have done my root canal 3 years before But now I have getting the same problem & also when I consult to dentist he told that abscess will occur inside after sometime. What to do now? Can I try again with root canal or I will go through extraction?

Dear lybrate user, your tooth which was treated for root canal has been reinfected, this indicates failure of root canal treatment. If you got any capping/crown done after RCT, it has to removed and re-RCT has to be done. If the condition of the tooth is worse, it will have to be extracted/removed. Re-infection after root canal treatment usually happens if complete elimination of infection was not done previously. It totally depends on your choice and the condition of the tooth whether it can be saved or not.

You must go for replacement of the missing tooth always, either removable or fixed denture or implant. If left untreated, leads to drifting of the opposite and adjacent tooth towards the missing space.

2- Scaling First of all undergo scaling (cleaning of teeth) by a dentist - Use proper brushing technique. - Brush twice a day which is most important (at night specifically just before sleep and avoid any food or liquid except water when you finish your brush at night) - After each meal (i. E breakfast, lunch, dinner and any time when you take snacks) rub your finger on all tooth surfaces inside and outside and than do forcefull gargles 2-3 times. -Visit dentist for regular oral cavity check up every 4 months for the early diagnosis and prevention of dental diseases.
