About Us Ayurveda, which literally means the science of life (Ayur = Life, Veda = Science), is an ancient medical science which was developed in India thousands of years ago. Ayurveda is a system, which uses the inherent principles of nature, to help maintain the health of a person by keeping the body, mind and spirit in perfect equilibrium with nature. If there is an imbalance in these elements along with the Tridoshas (Vatta, Pitta, Kapha) then Ayurveda plays a crucial role in eradicating the root cause of the ailment or disease. The doshas assist in the creation of all of the various tissues of the body and to remove any unnecessary waste products from the body. Each person has a unique dosha with unique nutritional needs. Establishing your dosha enables you determine suitable diets, exercise and lifestyles to maintain balance. This is the key to maintaining health. It is the Tridoshas that influence all movements, all transformations, all sensory functions, and many of the other activities in the human body and mind. Ayurveda has eight ways to diagnose illness, namely Nadi (pulse), Mootra (urine), Mala (stool), Jihva (tongue), Shabda (speech), Sparsha (touch), Druk (vision), and Aakruti (appearance). Ayurveda is not a merely a method for the treatment of diseases & cures, it is a detailed description of how to lead one's life in harmony with nature. Marma is the name of a therapy. Marmas are the vital points in the body where the life force is concentrated. The Marma points are located where the flesh, veins, arteries, tendons, bones and joints meet. They may also be described as the junctions where Vata, Pitta and Kapha meet; where the Sattva, Rajas and Tamas gunas meet; or where Eternity and Relativity meet and determine the character of the person. At Ayur Marma Kerala Ayurvedic Ortho Neuro Muscular Care Centre, the traditional principles of Ayurveda are followed to ensure that the therapy is authentic and effective. The motto of our centre ‘Healing Naturally' embodies the beauty of our method of treatment. The system recognizes the fact that every individual body has it own potential to heal if it follows the right system. Ayurvedic doctors regard physical existence, mental existence, and personality as a unit, with each element being able to influence the others. This is a holistic approach used during diagnosis and therapy, and is a fundamental aspect of Ayurveda. Our centre is located at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, 10 Kms from the upcoming Navi Mumbai Airport, and is 30 Kms from Mumbai City.

Hi, I have Low hemoglobin. Right now it's 7.5. Because of weakness not able to walk much. Please suggest something for gaining strength.

MD Hom., Certificate in Food and Nutrition, BHMS, Diploma In Yoga, PGDM
Homeopath, Indore
MANAGEMENT - 1. Eat Iron-Rich Foods - Some good iron-based foods are liver, red meat, tofu, spinach, almonds, dates, lentils, fortified breakfast cereals, almonds 2. Increase Vitamin C Intake - Low hemoglobin levels due to a deficiency of vitamin C can be corrected by eating more foods rich in vitamin C. Iron cannot be fully absorbed by the body without the help of this vitamin. Eat foods rich in vitamin C like papaya, oranges, lemon, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, grapefruit, tomatoes and spinach. 3. Take Folic Acid - Folic acid, a B-complex vitamin, is required to make red blood cells. So, a folic acid deficiency automatically leads to a low hemoglobin level. Some good food sources of folic acid are green leafy vegetables, rice, sprouts, dried beans, wheat germ, fortified cereals, peanuts, bananas, broccoli and liver. 4. Beetroots - Beetroot is highly recommended to increase hemoglobin levels. It is high in iron, folic acid as well as fiber and potassium. Its nutritional value helps increase the body’s red blood cell count 5. Apples - An apple a day can help maintain a normal hemoglobin level. Apples are rich in iron along with various other health-friendly components that are required for a healthy hemoglobin count. For homeopathic medicine, contact us.

I have very fat belly my weight is about 95 kgs what should I do to get a slim belly?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science

I have very fat belly my weight is about 95 kgs what should I do to get a slim belly?
Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly it is important to understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. With overall weight loss you can achieve loss of belly fat. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Reduce your main meals by 1/4th the amount. Take a glass of lime water 10minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips.

You should sleep late by 9 PM apprx.60-90 minutes after dinner.and you should rise at 5.30 AM and drink 2 glass fresh water,A 1-2 hour afternoon sleep is very good for our mind and body. To remain healthy you should follow 3 steps in your life 1.BALANCED DIET 2.EARLY MORNING BRISK MORNING WALK for 30 minutes and 10 minutes evening walk after Dinner 3.DRINK 6-8 Glasse of water daily. As 60% of our body is made of water, it acts as a carrier of essential nutrients inside our body. Loosing as little as 5% of body's weight as water can cause headache, fatigue and lower your muscle strength. To stay healthy, an adult should drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. Balanced Diet= 60% Carbohydrates + 20% Fats + 20% Proteins 1. Carbohydrates: Our main source of energy. Stored in liver and muscles. Carbohydrates are used the most by our body duringexercise. Hence, it is important for people who exercise regularly to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates. (a) Instant/rapid carbohydrates energy sources: Banana, Milk, Sweets, Sugarcane juice. (b) Slow carbohydrates energy sources: Beans, Bread, Cereals, Potato, Pulses, Rice. 2. Proteins: Essential for growth, repair of muscle, skin, hair and body tissues. Protein deficiency leads to low immunity, hairfall, feeling of tiredness. Proteins are not stored in our body as any excess protein is converted to energy or fat. Hence, a person requires protein intake every day. When the body does not get enough carbohydrates to fuel itself, it falls back on protein bank. That is why people who follow starvation diets or go on fasting lose muscle tissue. (a) Major protein sources: Egg white(white portion), Milk, Soybeans/Soymilk, Fish, Cheese, Tofu. (b) Other protein sources: Beans with wheat, Nuts, Curd, Yogurt (Dahi). 3. Fats: Required and healthy when taken in small amounts. Excess fat leads to weight gain, increase in bad cholesterol (LDL) and heartproblems (a) Major fats sources: Egg yolk (Yellow portion), Avocados, Whole Milk, Butter, Cheese, Nuts. (b) Other fats sources: Corn, Vegetable/Olive oil, Biscuits, Flaxseeds(San Beej). 4. Vitamins and Minerals: Critical for normal functioning of organs and processes within our body. They do not provide energy directly but work behind the scenes to break down food into energy. 5. Fiber: It helps retain water and in making our stools softer to avoid constipation. Intake should be 25 to 35 grams a day. 6. Calories: A measure of how much energy food or drink contains. On an average, a man needs around 2,000 calories a day and a woman 1700 calories a day to maintain his weight and good health. Number varies by person depending upon weight, age and how active the lifestyle is. 7. Guideline: Each day have 3 main meals, 2 snacks, 5 pieces of fruit and at least 1 glass of milk.

Dark circles are because of lack of nutrients. Sleep and weakness. So take proper nutrients and drink plenty of juices and sleep for atleast 7 hours a day. Drink 7-8 glasses of water every day.
