The first thing you have to do is to develop a positive attitude towards your goal. You need to understand that transforming your physique is going to take a lot of time. These things don't work that easily. It's going to take a lot of hard work and consistency 1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: Monday/Thursday: Chest + Triceps Tuesday/Friday: Back + Biceps Wednesday/Saturday: Legs + Shoulders Don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2. Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

Ideally if you want to build a muscles, it's is 1.5 g per kg body weight. Do increase your water intake proportionately to around 2.5 litres. Take good proteins from egg,milk and milk products,fish,nuts like almonds and walnuts

1. Do regular exercise for 30 minutes daily like brisk walking 2. Reduce weight if overweight 3. Control diet a) avoid sweets, sugar/honey, full cream milk, milk product excess calorie and carbohydrate rich diet like white bread, cereal, rice, pasta b) avoid all refined food like maida, pasta, starchy food like rice, potato, bakery item, processed food, c) include more fiber like pulse, green leafy vegetable, cucumber, tomato, legume. D) avoid sweetened fruit like banana, mango, litchi, chickoo, grape etc. Can have fruits like guava, pineapple, papaya, orange, mousambi, strawberry, watermelon, pomegranate, a handful of walnut daily (akhrot) e) avoid white/polished rice, take unpolished rice like brown rice/wheat/jowar/ragi, moong and chana dal. F) avoid ghee/ butter./coconut oil/excess salt intake like papad/pickle. G) avoid red meat. Take fish/chicken. H) avoid alcohol and carbonated drinks like soft drink 4. Adhere to a strict diabetic diet by consulting dietitian 5. Monitor your fasting, pp blood sugars monthly and hba1c six monthly.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if any one has 500 mg blood sugar, then insulin injections are a must. There is no way to reduce that kind of sugar by any other means. Severe hyperglycemia causes severe glucotoxicity and insulin producing cells of pancreas are stunned, so there activity is seriously affected. To help them regain ability to produce insulin, immediate reduction is high glucose level by using insulin injection is essential. Once levels are well controlled, then one can shift on to oral anti-diabetes drugs say in about 3 months. But without using insulin or any other drug there no way to reduce such high sugar levels. Plus such high levels also hasten long term complications of diabetes. So my suggestion is please initiate immediate treatment. Thanks for the question.

It could be due to mild fever or simply exertion. Don't worry, take plenty of sleep, eat fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the day. Drink lots of water. Start taking a multivitamin after breakfast daily.

We recommend a proper planned diets for diabetics. You need to maintain the gi (glycemic index of your food to maintain the glucose levels in your blood. Please have small meals in your day (place at 2 hourly gap) take more of complex cards like roasted grains. Balance the sugar of your fruits by combining it with salads and soups. Take multigrain chapatti to reduce the gluten in your diet. Drink plenty of water and include some, cinnamon in your dairy preparation for maintaining the lactose of milk.

Hi lybrate-user to gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

Hye. Thankyou for the query. Firstly understand that protein supplementation is essential only if your exercise intensity is high. If not then your diet which is rich in proteins and other nutrients is enough. Protein and the type of supplementation also needs to be assessed. Although whey is easy to digest and assimilate it is important to understand that it needs to supplement a healthy diet. I can't take brand name on this platform but in case you decide to go for a supplement you need to see that it is 100% whey and does not have too many other ingredients added. Also deciding on isolate concentrate or casein is also to be based on the time type of workout etc.

Sir, I have fat under my nipple area and I am not able to remove it. I was skinny six months before, but at that time also, I had that fat. And now I have gained some muscles and little fat as I do exercises in gym but still the amount of the fat under nipple is same. Neither it is reduced nor it gained. I want to remove it permanently. I have read articles related to that and they say that it might b pseudogyno or gyno. Please help me to get rid of this. This thing sucks. I do not want any surgery.

The development of gynecomastia is usually associated with benign pubertal changes; in adolescent boys, the condition is often a source of psychological distress. However, 75% of pubertal gynecomastia cases resolve within two years of onset without treatment. In rare cases, gynecomastia has been known to occur in association with certain disease states. Gynecomastia may be seen in individuals with Klinefelter syndrome or certain cancers, with disorders involving the endocrine system or metabolic dysfunction, with the use of certain medications, or in older males due to a natural decline in testosterone production. Disturbances in the endocrine system that lead to an increase in the ratio of estrogens/androgens are thought to be responsible for the development of gynecomastia. This may occur even if the levels of estrogens and androgens are both appropriate but the ratio is altered. The disorder is usually diagnosed by a physician after a detailed history and physical examination. Conservative management of gynecomastia is often appropriate as the condition commonly resolves on its own. Medical treatment of gynecomastia that has persisted beyond two years is often ineffective. Medications such as aromatase inhibitors have been found to be effective in rare cases of gynecomastia from disorders such as aromatase excess syndrome or Peutz–Jeghers syndrome. Fasting sugar is normal, pp is slightly impaired. Go on healthy diet and exercise. No need of medication at this moment.

Hi lybrate user, in this age there is no possiblity absolutely for any pathological complaints. Its looking purely psychological. If you are student, then it might be related to stress, either work, or mental, family related issues, any personal problems. If you are thinking more abt those, or wrrying abt any those related issues. Will cause exertion of mind, psychologically weak, depressed. Some times, these all interrelated with lack of sleep, less intake of food, due to low appetite. If its since 4-5 yrs, then you might have seen any psychologist by then itself, evn now also. No problem, you can overcome from all these if you try to put few efforts. Like diverting your mind to some other avocation, whichever you like more like. It could be music. Listening or learning, writing/reading/sports/making trip for just changing the environment, learning any other your interested hobby, working some where at your comfortable zone, as part time or full time,& also. Practicing yoga/meditation/pranayama/breathing exercises[which will be taught in art of living like classes] will help alot to get rid of your problems.

No its very wrong, you r not taking food in night. You should take low calorie diet in night and focus in high fiber in daily diets and don't take out side foods and take proper water. Avoid fried foods ans prefer fruits and fruits juice in daily diets.

Hello eating less or skipping meals also increases weight. When you eat very less your body starts storing extra fat to use the energy throughout the day. Hence you start on gaining extra fat which shows weight gain. Try to avoid big meals instead have small but frequent meals. Have balanced diet. Include each food from every food group. Because fats are also necessary for your body. Just keep a check on amount and which fats you are taking. Have more vegetable and fruit. It's not only diet. It's lifestyle changes too. You may hit a plateau after few months of exercise and diet. Plateu means your weight is stuck. No change in weight. Try to make some changes in your exercise routine. Try eating carbs last at every meal after your protein and fat to break the plateu.

Men who consume high saturated animal fat diet are two times more likely to experience disease progression after prostate cancer surgery than men with lower saturated fat intake.
There is also shorter "disease–free" survival time among obese men who eat high saturated fat diet compared with non–obese men consuming diets low in saturated fat.
Men with a high saturated fat intake had the shortest survival time free of prostate cancer (19 months)
Non–obese men with low fat intake survived the longest time free of the disease (46 months).
Non–obese men with high intake and obese men with low intake had "disease–free" survival of 29 and 42 months, respectively.
