I am 42 yrs old female I m having pain I my rt hand frm shoulder to arm. I did x ray it shows muscle spasm and in blood test crp is 11 vitamin d is 22. My Dr. Advised zerosoft z tab but pain is unbearable can't even move my hand at d back. Please advise.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned pain in your shoulder region. Can you recall any event which might have triggered this pain? also you have a high crp levels and low vitamin d as well. As of now, if there is no swelling or any other s/s of any infection like skin redness, local warmth etc, I will advise you to continue with ice packs, anti inflammatory medication, local analgesic spray application, use sling for 3-4 days. i am just 4 kg short of century and 60 years old, have knee problem to have brisk walk. Need your advice.

What i can see is you are overweight,but how much exactly i can tell you if you let me know your height.You definitely need to loose weight to avoid stress on your knee joint.Also what other symptoms do u have and since when you are having this pain? you should not go for brisk walking,instead do some exercises for quadriceps strengthening.

Sir I had my left hand cracked at the age of 12 years, now I m 36 years old. The orthopedic doctor wasn't able to join my hands properly. Now if I ride bike, do any heavy work it pains my join, for which I want to rejoin my hand doing surgery. Will this cure my pain forever in future? Please advice me.

Hello. I am a 33 year old male living in Denmark since 10 years. I am originally from India. Recently on my trip to India, I was sleeping on hard mattresses, as is the case usually with beds in India. And for some reason it has probably not gone very well with my back. In Denmark we sleep on very soft mattresses. And my back has usually been pretty good and have had no complaints around it. Even though I have knee problem due to my history in sports. But this time around, the pain has been very consistent. The problem is that when I sit on my bed, in a fairly nice posture, with back straight, and leaning back on a pillow or something, my middle back starts feeling sore and irritates me, and then I have to sit with out any support for a while to relieve the tension. Even when bending sometimes, I can feel the tightness in lower and middle back, can feel its sore. It's been a month and now I am back in Denmark since a week, but still don't see any changes. In general what do you think is the problem and could it be linked to the mattresses? On a side note, an MRI of my lower spine was normal, with a slight slight disc bulge, without any significant nerve compression, according to the radiologist. So I am assuming the structure and things are good, but maybe it's just a passing thing. But still need to do something so it does not get worse, and hopefully to get it back to normal sooner. Kindly suggest. Thank you

hi, You have a slight disc bulge, but you did not mention the exact area. Depending on your history given i can suggest you complete body rest in proper position whenever pain starts. Don't carry heavy objects. Use hip bandage during prolonged sitting and travelling. Make sure to get proper bowel evacuation. You can manage the discomfort and further increase of the condition through traditional ayurveda therapy along with some internal medication. I can suggest you accordingly if you revert back in private consultation.

Hello doctor Before 1 year when I was playing it pained in my backbone and after someday it happened that one of my left lungs means chest bone has gone inside I am 18 years old and usually masturbate I think it happened bcoz of masturbate and I think its due to lack of calcium and after 6 months it again happened and this time pain in other side of chest I am totally scared bcoz before 10-12 days it again happened and my bone of lungs has gone more deeper I am afraid that if my body will whole be damaged one day? अक्सर हममें से ज्यादातर लोगों को पीठ में दर्द, खिंचाव या अकड़न महसूस होता ही रहता है. हलांकि कई बार इससे बहुत ज्यादा परेशानी हो जाती है लेकिन ये गंभीरतम समस्याओं में से नहीं है. पीठ दर्द होने के कई कारण हैं जैसे कि गिरना, चोट या चिकित्सकीय स्थिति आदि. इस दौरान दर्द, सामान्य रूप से हड्डियों, डिस्क, नसों, मांसपेशियों और स्नायुबंधन द्वारा मिलकर की जाने वाली गतिविधियों के तरीके पर निर्भर करता है. पीठ दर्द का अनुभव करने का उम्र 35 और 55 वर्ष के बीच की है. यदि आपकी पीठ में बहुत दर्द हो रहा हो, तब भी धीरे-धीरे काम करना बिस्तर पर सीधे लेटे रहने से बेहतर है. आइए पीठ दर्द के कुछ संभावित उपचार को जानें.

1. व्यायाम की सहायता से
व्यायाम के कई फायदे हैं. पीठ दर्द का उपचार व्यायाम के इन्हीं फायदों में से एक है. यदि आप नियमित रूप से प्रभावी एरोबिक गतिविधियां करें तो आपकी पीठ में खिंचाव या झटका नहीं लगता है. इसके अलवा ये आपकी पीठ को मज़बूती व स्थिरता भी प्रदान करने के साथ ही आपकी मांसपेशियों को सक्षम बनाती है. पीठ दर्द से निपटने के लिए सैर और तैराकी करना अच्छे विकल्प हैं.
2. तरीके से खड़े हों
खड़े होने के तरीके का भी पीठदर्द पर बहुत अधिक प्रभाव पड़ता है. जब भी खड़े हों तो सीधे खड़े हों यानी पेल्विक स्थिति को तटस्थ बनाए रखें. इसके अलावा यदि आपको देर तक खड़ा होना ज़रूरी है, तो पैर रखने वाले छोटे स्टूल पर अपना एक पाँव रखें जिससे आपकी पीठ के निचले हिस्से से थोड़ा भार कम हो सके.
3. अच्छे तरीके से बैठें
बैठना के गलत तरीके का भी इस पर काफी प्रभाव पड़ता है. जब भी बैठना हो तो पीठ के निचले हिस्से व हाथों को सहारा देने वाली और घूमने वाली कुर्सी को चुनन ठीक रहेगा. इसके अलावा आप अपने पीठ की वक्रता को सामान्य बनाए रखने के लिए अपनी पीठ के पीछे सहारे के रूप में एक तकिया या तौलिए को मोड़कर रखें.
4. सतर्कतापूर्वक भार उठाएं
जहां तक संभव हो भारी सामान उठाने से बचें, लेकिन यदि वजन उठाना ज़रूरी है तो अपने पैरों को काम करने दें. इस दौरान अपनी पीठ को सीधा रखें, घूमें नहीं और केवल घुटनों पर ही झुकें. भार को अपने शरीर नज़दीक पकडकर रखने का प्रयास करें. भारी सामान को किसी की सहयाता के बाद ही उठाने का प्रयास करें.
5. शारीरिक परिक्षण
पीठ दर्द की समस्या से निपटने के लिए आमतौर पर सभी का शारीरिक परीक्षण करने की आवश्यकता हो सकती है. इस दौरान चिकित्सक आपकी निम्न जांच कर सकते हैं – खड़े होने और चलने की योग्यता रीढ़ की हड्डी की मूवमेंट की सीमा सजगता पैरों की ताकत आपके पैरों में होने वाली सनसनी की क्षमता आदि.
6. बेड रेस्ट से बचें
पीठ दर्द के उपचार के दौरान बिस्तर पर आराम करने की सलाह नहीं दी जाती है. अपने सामर्थ्य के अनुसार अधिक से अधिक काम करना जारी रखें. हलकी गतिविधि करने की कोशिश करें, जैसे कि चलना और दैनिक जीवन की गतिविधियां. उन कामों को न करें, जिनसे दर्द बढ़ता है, लेकिन दर्द से डरकर काम करने से न बचें.
7. शारीरिक चिकित्सा और व्यायाम
शारीरिक उपचार के द्वारा पीठ दर्द को कम करने के लिए आपकी पीठ की मांसपेशियों और कोमल ऊतकों को विभिन्न प्रकार के उपचार, जैसे – उष्मा, अल्ट्रासाउंड, विद्युत उत्तेजना और मांसपेशी को आराम देने वाली तकनीकें अपना सकते हैं. इसके अलावा चिकित्सक आपको व्यायाम सिखा सकते हैं जो आपके लचीलेपन को बढ़ा सकते हैं, पीठ और पेट की मांसपेशियों को मजबूत बना सकते हैं और आपकी अवस्था में सुधार कर सकते हैं.
