The Chemistry between Calcium and Teeth

Calcium phosphate is the main component of the tooth enamel so any deficiency in calcium can cause damage to the enamel. Calcium is not only required for having healthy teeth but also healthy bones and heart.

Healthy teeth are a sign of good overall health and wellbeing. There are many factors that impact the health of the teeth such as improper diet, smoking, and sugar.

Benefits of calcium for teeth

-Calcium reduces the chances of losing a teeth
-It reduces chances of cavities
-Calcium, when combined with a proper nutritious diet, helps in increasing the longevity of the teeth
-Calcium can reduce chances of gum disease
-Calcium along with other minerals also help in improving blood supply around the teeth area
-A calcium compound, amorphous calcium phosphate helps in fluoride absorption in the tooth enamel
-It limits loss of mass in the jawbone
-Calcium also fortifies the bones around the jaw to reduce bone problems such as loss of bone structure as one gets older
-It helps in protecting the teeth from acidic components that cause tooth decay

To have healthy teeth, one needs to have a balanced diet that meets the regular calcium requirements besides following a healthy lifestyle.

None of tooth paste or brush can make your teeth white. Pls visit a dentist for it. And always use a soft brush as brush r ment to clean soft deposits (plaque, not hard one. Hard brush will do abrassion only. Hard deposits r cleaned by a professional only.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need braces or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

The last of my teeth has been removed last week. I am now toothless. Waiting for the heeling of the Bone on which the Dentures will be mounted. Before the making of the denture-casts for the upper jaw and the lower jaw, I understand Alioloplasty needs to be performed on the jaw-bones to smoothen any protrusions in the bone on which the dentures would be resting. What is Alioloplasty ? How long does it take ti heal after Alioloplasty ? What are the steps to complete the the dentures, after Alioloplasty ? and what are options for choosing the Denture-base and teeth-material and the pros and cons of the options ? What about using implant for the lower Denture allowing removal of the denture for cleaning. Are the dentures to be removed before going to bed ?

Alveoloplasty is the reshaping of the bone crest to attain a smooth uniform level of bone for proper retention , stability and support of dentures. It takes generally 3 weeks to 8 weeks fr complete healing. The dentures are made from acrylic, lucitone, dpi etc. Implant supported lower denture will provide better support and retention. Yes dentures should be removed before going to bed,for proper recirculation of gums(alveolar mucosa) at night.

Usually due to numbness children bite their lips or tongue which results ulceration and swelling. Nothing to worry, it'll heal by itself. Avoid touching the wound and for pain you can apply topical gel. (like hexigel, mucopain etc)

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too.

Cost of cosmetic dentistry (braces or surgical correction) varies with dentist. If you prefer surgery, it?s a short duration procedure done under general anaesthesia. Recovery time is short with absolutely no pain. However swelling will subside between 5 to 7 days. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Dear I would like to share with you that unlike our medical counterparts way of treatment - we are unable to treat toothache by medication only. There has to be cause for toothache which can only be assessed on seeing you clinically and relating your problem with the same. The clinician may require some investigations to get more details as our medical counterparts do, with a stethoscope. Immediate relief could then be at your feet or should I say mouth. When does the pain start? is it localised or generalised? for how long does the pain last before gradually coming down? what aggravates the pain and what gives you relief from the same?

This is oral sub mucous fibrosis. Stop pan masala right away if you want to prevent future complications. Some injections inside your cheeks can help.
