Can People Really Change?

Can People Really Change?

You might often consider whether people really change or do they just pretend that they have changed in order to achieve something. You can change only when you truly want to change. You have to want to change yourself for you, not for somebody else. If you want to change just because you need to make certain adjustments for a particular relationship or because someone else wants you to change, then it is going to be useless. The weight of the change will not be the same until and unless it is your desire and determination to change for you.

But this is extremely difficult. You will always feel that you are perfect the way you are. In fact it is likely you would want the people you are associated with to change according to your terms. You would want the other people to change their ways of carrying themselves so that they can fit into your way of life. This usually causes mayhem as it is extremely difficult for anyone to change according to the whims of someone else. The other person usually ends up feeling bad about him/her when you want them to change.

Coming back to the question of whether people really change, well the answer is yes. People do change. Sometimes, may be you change a certain way you behave when you realize that may be you don't like it. There may be a few things about yourself, which you might not like, which you will try to change once you realize it. But changing is not easy. It takes a lot of time to change certain habits or behavior you are so accustomed to. You will not change with a blink of an eyelid. But eventually, when you work hard towards it for your own benefit and to get the sense of perfection within yourself, you will succeed. But there are a few things or aspects about yourself which can never change no matter how much you try. The way you feel about something might not ever change. If you don't like a certain thing you might never like it. Although if your dislike is towards a person, it might change after you get to know that person. It might also be the opposite. Also changing your bad habits will be extremely difficult and you might tend to succumb to the negativity.

Another aspect which you can't change is your past. It is what it is. You can't change it. The best option will be to just get over it if it had anything which didn't have a positive impact on you. The best thing to do with it is to use it as a step towards your future. After all, you would definitely want a bright future.

I have pimples on my face from five months and I used so many creams but I not saw any changes on my face what I should do? To decrease the pimples.

Ayurveda, Ambala
These are the methods to treat pimples fastly - • Do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Mix black pepper powder in some water to make paste & apply on the pimples three times a week. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day.

I am even taking medicine. I have consulted to doctor and he told me to have som pain killer and a gastric medicine as well as calcium with vitamin d3. Even I am applying moov in that area like 3 times. Still I am suffering problem. And still pain is there. As what the xray report says loss of lumar lordosis due to muscle spasm. Is this a normal thing? Or I should consult some other doctor?

Lower back pain can happen due to several causes. However at your age it is often due to disc degeneration. This in common terms would mean early stages of spondylosis. An award winning scientific research done by my team revealed has shown that by the time Indians reach 30 years of age, 30 % start showing signs of disc degeneration and a handful of them start having episodes of back pain such as yours. There's no need to get worried as this is a part of the normal physiological process. For pain, I would advice you to take a pain killer twice a day for 5 days. Use hot compress twice daily for 15 mins each time and a gel (oxalgin nano gel) 3 times a day. Apart from this go for a walk twice a day. Avoid bending much and do not lift heavy weights and sit or squat on the floor. Go to a physiotherapist who will teach you core strengthening exercises. While the degeneration can not be reversed, it can be prevented from aggravating. If the pain doesn't decrease, you will need to be investigated further for other causes of back pain. Best of luck!

Hello doctor I am twinkal I am 19 year old girl and I have dehydration problem last 2 days what I do.

Physiotherapist, Surat
In dehydration there is loss of body fluids, mostly water compared to what we take in through drinking. Normally water is lost from human body in the form of breathe that we take, sweat, urine, and stool. Along with water, salt (sweat) is also lost. Sometimes we do excessive exercise in hot weather that time we lose too much water, our bodies may become out of balance or dehydrated. The common symptoms that may be seen in dehydrated patients are: Fever, shivering, muscle cramps, headache, vomitting, dry skin, less saliva secretion etc. Due to which you will start feeling weak, unhealthy, drowsie, stomachache and body pain. If severe dehydration it can lead to various other problems like shock, epilepsy, blood clot, heart problem etc. To overcome dehydration please care: Rest is required. This will feel you relax and mentally comfortable. 1. Intake of oral rehydration powders like punarjal, ORS, enerex, electrolyte etc by dissolving in water. These solutions contain water and salts in specific proportions which replenish your body fluids and electrolytes. Can have at frequent intervals, every one hour. This will remove all your dehydration. 2. Sometimes fresh fruit juices, coffee, coldrinks, etc may exaggerate the diarrhoea. Does not overcome dehydration. 3. You can have vegetable soups made by fresh green vegetables at home. In your case I would recommend you to have rehydrating solution every 30 to 60 min. Take some fresh juices or soup if it hamper your health then do not take because intake of fresh juice vary person to person. For any doubt please contact. Get Well Soon.

General Physician,
Work–related stress can kill

Job stress raises the risk of heart disease by disrupting the body’s internal systems.

The findings from a long–running study involving more than 10,000 British civil servants also suggest that stress–induced biological changes may play a more direct role than previously thought.

The researchers measured stress among the civil servants by asking questions about their job demands such as how much control they had at work, how often they took breaks, and how pressed for time they were during the day.

The team conducted seven surveys over a 12–year period and found chronically stressed workers – people determined to be under severe pressure in the first two of the surveys – had a 68 percent higher risk of developing heart disease. The link was strongest among people under 50.

Stressed workers also eat unhealthy food, smoke, drink and skip exercise – all behaviors linked to heart disease.

In the study, stressed workers also had lowered heart rate variability – a sign of a poorly–functioning weak heart and higher than normal levels of cortisol, a "stress" hormone that provides a burst of energy for a fight–or–flight response.

Too much cortisol circulating in the blood stream can damage blood vessels and the heart.

Homeopath, Ghaziabad
Ya it's completely normal, but keep an eye if they r extremely painful like never before, or have spotting between periods, or feeling pain during sex. Otherwise normal. If its coming after 6 months like it means they are going to stop, simultaneously.

Hello doc I'm a mother of 20 days old girl. and I want to know when can I have outside food or junk food I mean after how many months. and doctor when can you plan to diet? Thanks in advance.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hye Thanks for the query. There is no ideal time to have junk foods. Junk foods are best avoided. As for outside food, you need to take care to eat only cooked foods, avoid outside fried foods and any food that is not in season. As for avoiding junk or fried or outside foods, you need to be very careful till your child is breastfeeding. Getting into weight loss must be after baby is 8 month to 1 year. If you eat right you will lose weight automatically after Lactation for a year.
