You have options of laser/RFA and other endovascular procedures..which are painless...about your recurrence some do reccure...if all symptoms are due to varicose vein than arthritis consider for intervention..u already consulted vascular surgeon..best person for varicose veins..

I am 53 Year female, I have varicose veins in both legs. In July 2016 I got laser operation done in my right leg and till August 2018, everything was fine and legs were healthy. But suddenly there is swelling which is not going even after taking Daflon 1000 mg tabs and there is large black as well as red blood clotted patches in my both lower limbs and pain all over the area described. Sometimes, there is burning sensation from within and itching all over the rashes. I am keeping leg elevated during sleep and resting time. Kindly suggest me how to go ahead with medications and treatment for this problem. I am unable to walk, keep my legs on the floor or even wear footwear.

Hi. You are heavy weight persons with your height and weight ration. Some points 1. Ubm8ght have some diff problem at present than varicose veins or it can be same 2. Get one repeat venous duplex done in standing position to confirm above mention stuff. 3. Consult vascular surgeon. As varicose veins can have recurrence in some cases. Which may or may not require intervention. 4. Start wearing proper stockings. To control disease at this stage. 5 avoid itching or scratching getting ulcer following minimal trauma is worse thing we want in this sceanrio. If has more question get back to me.

Is it necessary to surgery of 12 years old varicose problem if I have no pain only I have swelling?

MBBS, DNB - Peripheral Vascular Surgery, DNB - General Surgery, MNAMS

Suugestion is to consult vascular surgeon. Younger age varicose veins are not common. We might have to see or rule out other problems like venous malformation, abnormal veins. Etc.

My mom suffers from Varicose Veins. She has swelling and pain in both of her legs. I have seen many doctors (orthopedic, General surgeon and more) in my town. All the doctors say that the problem doesn't have a permanent solution. Since the problem is in multiple veins, operating on some veins will not cure it, as other veins in future will have the same problem. The only cure or alternative they suggest is to use compression stocking. Do any cure exist for the Varicose vein problem? I have seen many medical websites and mostly it looks like they close the vein which is leading to improper blood flow or damaged. Is this treatment effective? While searching online I found this old article (2004) Indiatimes.com/city/delhi/AIIMS-to-cure-in-a-lighter-vein/articleshow/805914. Cms Suggesting "Percutaneous Venous Valve Placement" but searching more on it looks like it is related veins near heart? Is it a treatment for varicose vein? Please suggest me any good doctors/hospitals and treatment for the same. And thanks a ton for helping me.

Its better to see vascular surgeon who are specialized in varicose vein treatments. And with your history of research in disease might have shown you some complicated problems with varicose veins. But it does have better side. But need good assesement to know thorough problem with patient. And about treatment yes their ate multiple treatment options avialble for varicose veins depending on its severity and complexity.

Dear doc. How do I treat varicose veins. There are spots appeared on both legs on the ankle. I have started cycling at least 10 kms daily.

Doing exercise is great stuff to control varicosities. But get done venous duplex and asses severity. So we can choose from multiple options available to which suits you best.

I am having thrombophlebitis, taking acitrom 4 mg regularly, is their risk for clots to move now.

Get done one venous duplex. For how many days you have this problem. All thrombophlebitis may not require acitrom.
