Hi 1. To clarify that varicose vein laser or RFA or Open surgery are not of major surgeries if patients general health is adequately balanced in another disease spectrums. 2. These are not mandatory or emergency surgeries as nature of urgency varies with her routine and disease severity. 3. Properly confirm your diagnosis pain she is suffering is only from varicose veins and consider intervention of vascular surgeon advises and is not major surgery. 4. Suggestion to consult vascular surgeon and then take call. Till that time you can wear proper compression stockings from good company thank you.

Better do venous duplex. Rule out cause for it. Basically needs to rule out deep venous thrombosis as is severe life threatening conditon and workup accordingly. And other cause like varicose veins and all to be ruled out.

My husband is suffering in varicose vein problem. He was having ulcer, for last two months in right lower leg but now that is cured through dressing and compression bandage, Doppler test has been done. Doctor's advise for laser surgery. We need 2nd opinion. For his treatment.

Hi. Dressing and other treatment has been very instrumnetal by your doc. Its good. Doing surgery or laser is one of the important priority of his treatment. As at present we have healed ulcer and ulcer was probably secondary to your varicose vein. 1. Until you clear varicose vein problems tjeir is no complete treatment done. 2. If you do not do varicose vein intervention probablity of ulcer return is very high and you may have to go through same stuff again to heal it 3. And this cycle of ulcer heal and ulcer again will continue. 4. So trust your doc and go ahead. Still of more understanding of disease needed. please consult vascular surgeon.

My mother (50) got her varicose vein laser surgery in 2012. She wore stocks and followed her doctor. Today she says that her leg is swelling if she don't do walking. She is a teacher by profession. She also says that her buttocks are paining. She goes for yearly checkup but still she is not satisfied with her condition. What could be the actual problem. Could you suggest anything.
