She had been suffering from wounds since 6 years which are oftenly formed in mouth. How should she stop those wounds. Could you please give her useful suggestions.

MDS
Dentist, Lucknow
My interpretation of your question is directed towards the diagnosis of recurrent aphthous ulcers in the oral cavity which are usually self limiting (minor type) and can be managed conservatively i.e. by intake of adequate amount of fluids, nutritional supplements, topical antiseptic anesthetics and relief from stress.

Visit a dentist to get scaling done. You may have plaque accumulation that can cause bad breath. Also use a aqueous base mouthwash before bed.

Best treatment for 3 crooked teeth. Don't want braces for just 3 teeth. Suggest other treatment.

Best treatment for 3 crooked teeth. Don't want braces for just 3 teeth. Suggest other treatment.
Prosthodontics is second option. This treatment needs your teeth to be reduced to smaller size by the dentist then a better crown with good shape (not crooked) is placed. You will need rct of those teeth before the crown.

Teeth pain may be due to various reasons like infection, sensitivity or trauma. If your teeth is decayed it is better to get it filled or treated by a dentist. If you are opting for root canal treatment do not forget to get a crown on the effected tooth. If you want to go for only medicinal treatment so let me tell you only medicine are not going to be very effective untill you get this treated by a dentist.

I have ulcers on the tongue and gingiva and its paining a lot. Prescribe me some medicine for this.
Hi lybrate-user ulcers on the tongue and gingiva could be indicative of viral infection in the mouth. I suggest you see a dentist, an oral surgeon, or an oral medicine specialist for evaluation. In the meantime, you can use any anaesthetic mouth ulcer gel, particularly just before meals, for symptomatic relief.

Hello. Tooth sensitivity — also known as dentin hypersensitivity — affects the tooth or exposed root surfaces. This occurs when the enamel that protects our teeth gets thinner, or when gum recession occurs, exposing the underlying surface, the dentin, thus, reducing the protection the enamel and gums provide to the tooth and root. If hot, cold, sweet or very acidic foods and drinks, or breathing in cold air, makes your teeth or a tooth sensitive or painful then you may have sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity can come and go over time. Causes: There are many causes of tooth sensitivity, including: Worn tooth enamel from using a hard toothbrush or brushing too aggressively Tooth erosion due to highly acidic foods and beverages Tooth erosion due to bulimia or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Gum recession that leaves your root surface exposed There are several conditions which can cause pain, but which are not tooth sensitivity: Dental caries A cracked or chipped tooth Grinding or clenching the teeth Leakage around restorations External tooth bleaching Management: Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing gums from receding and causing sensitive-tooth pain. If you brush your teeth incorrectly, or over-brush, your gums may become sensitive. Brushing properly twice daily for 2 minutes with toothpaste that does not have high levels of abrasives, and flossing once a day, can help reduce the chance of tooth sensitivity. A diet low in acidic foods (tomatoes, pickles, tea, citrus fruits) and drinks also helps prevent tooth sensitivity. As the blood supply to the injured tooth gets affected which causes change in colour and thickness of the tooth. Treatment: Apply Plantago Q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take Mag. Phos. 6x and Arnica 200 - both 3 times a day for a month. Do visit a dentist for proper diagnosis, share the reports with me. In case possible, will help you in treating your problem.

I do toothbrush twice in a day but even than I have feel bad breath. I want a fresh breathing. What will I do?
Hi lybrate-user, bad breath even after brushing adequately can be due to some gum disease and deposits (calculus) on your teeth. You can check yourself in front of the mirror during brushing time. If you feel some yellow stony deposits are present behind your lower front teeth, make a visit to your nearest dentist for clean-up. Also add mouthwashes to your brushing routine. Hve a great day.

Is he concerned to any doctor.
There is...
If the cavity at an initial stage, it is the best time to get it filled. The pain will start when the decay will reach near the nerve endings. Than you will have to go for root canal treatment. So better get it done.

I have a geographic tongue. I have consulted many doctors and they prescribe vitamins and stuff. I have those medicines and my tongue gets better for about like 2 months and then (even with the continuation of the medicines) gets back to its original condition. How do I deal with this? I have read that its incurable. What can I do to get some relief instantly?

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
yes it's doesn't have a cure but you can reduce the occurrence with lifestyle changes and food habits....meditation and yoga helps by cleaning our body....avoid foods which aggravate the condition....you can do allergic food testing for that...or at home by slowly introducing different food and checking which is not suited for your body

How to rid out gums bleeding?

MDS - Periodontics, BDS
Dentist,
Get ur gums examined by a specialist (periodontist). most common cause of bleeding from gums is tartar deposit. any medicine or gel or ointment or lotiin should not be considered as the only mode of treatment. depending on the amount of tartar periodontist may advice u diff treatment options. once treated u might nt even need those lotions and ointments. so dont rely on medication only for the treatment

Studies show that individuals who regularly eat foods containing lactic acid such as yogurt have a lower instance of gum disease. Dairy products are also a good source of calcium, which has been shown to lower the risk of gum disease also.
