What Are The Common STD Diseases?

MD
Sexologist, Srinagar
What Are The Common STD Diseases?

Do you know about the different types of sexually transmitted diseases and how they are caused? STDs are caused mostly by bacterial infections. The bacteria get transmitted while having sex, in the case of most common STDs. There are several STDs which commonly occur in people, primarily because of having unprotected sex.

Causes:

There are various forms of infections, including bacteria like gonorrhea and syphilis, viral STDs like HIV, ghnital herpes, hepatitis B, and genital warts. The germs which lead to the STDs dwell in the semen, vaginal secretions, and saliva. The transmission mostly occurs through vaginal, anal, and oral contact. Certain STDs are caused due to skin contact.

Types of STDs:

The most common STD diseases are as follows:

  1. Chlamydia- This bacterial infection occurs in your genital tract, and it is difficult to diagnose as no early symptoms are always experienced. The disease strikes three weeks after the exposure to the responsible bacteria. Lower abdominal pain and vaginal discharge are indicated as symptoms.

  2. Gonorrhea- This is a bacterial infection, which affects the genital tract. It can also develop in your eyes, mouth, throat, and anus. The symptoms start appearing within ten days of the exposure. Major symptoms include thick, bloody discharge from the penis or vagina. Painful sensation while urinating is also indicated.

  3. Trichomoniasis- This STD occurs from a microscopic, single-celled parasite called trichomonas vaginitis. It is commonly transmitted during sexual intercourse with an affected individual. In the case of men, the disease infects the urinary tract, without showing any symptoms in many cases. In women, the vagina is affected. The condition appears twenty-eight days within exposure. Mild irritation and severe inflammation are common symptoms. A clear white, greenish or yellowish vaginal discharge is likely in women, while discharge from the penis occurs in the case of men.

  4. HIV- HIV occurs because of the human immunodeficiency virus. HIV is a severe health disease which disrupts your body’s immune system, or your body’s ability to fight fungi and bacteria that lead to illness. HIV results in AIDS, which is a chronic, life-threatening condition. Commonly, early stage symptoms are not experienced in case of HIV. An illness which is similar to flu within two to six weeks of infection is likely to occur in some patients. You need to take a screening test for HIV for the diagnosis of this condition.

Another common STD which occurs is genital herpes. This is caused due to a certain form of the HSV or herpes simplex virus. The virus enters your body through tiny breaks in your skin membrane or mucous. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

Hello function of oil is to condition the scalp. Soil has to be fertile for the plant to grow, the same way scalp has to be healthy for the hair to survive. Oil does exactly the same thing. Hair roots are situated inside the scalp and it gets nutrition through blood. Whatever we are going to eat is going to give nourishment to hair. Thanks for the query. This is a common condition and is an urban life style related problem. The dark circle around the eyes at your age is unusual and could indicate an insulin resistance. Skin is the mirror of internal health and to get a perfect skin you need to treat both ways - internally and externally. See a Dermatologist who will recommend a product for reducing puffiness and darkness and will advocate the correct method to use it. Avoid rubbing the eyes as it will increase pigmentation. Your Dermatologist may request a few blood tests to understand the blood chemistry and treat them specifically. Now-a-days many chemical peels also offers realistic promise- like glycolic acid and lactic acid peels. Dermapen in combination with mesotherapy also helps. A healthy diet and lifestyle is mandatory to achieve results.

Treating Knee Pain With Homeopathy

Treating Knee Pain With Homeopathy

Knee pain is referred to as a condition when the knee joints (which are responsible for walking, running, sitting and standing along with bearing the maximum body weight for most forms of physical activities) are significantly inflamed, giving rise to a severe pain in particular areas or the entire knee joint. There might also be severe stiffness around the knee joint which might make it very difficult to function.

Knee pain might occur due to obesity, old age, different forms of arthritis, severe injury in the knee or the associated ligament or bones, knee cap dislocation, overuse of the knee joint and infections of the knee joint.

Homeopathic Treatment For Knee Pain:

Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using holistic approach. This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the sign and symptoms from which the patient is suffering. The aim of homoeopathy is not only to remove the symptom of knee pain but to cure its underlying cause. As far as therapeutic medication is concerned, several well-proved medicines are available for knee pain that can be selected on the basis of cause, location, sensation, modalities and extension of the knee pain. For individualized remedy selection and treatment, the patient should consult a qualified homeopathic doctor in person. The effective homeopathic remedies for knee pain are as follows :

  1. Bryonia Alba – This homeopathic preparation is effective in curing knee pain with the symptoms of severe pain in the knee joints during walking. Pain stops when you stop walking or moving and you may also have an abnormal growth in the knee joints. If the knee pain is caused due to osteoarthritis, Bryonia Alba can prove to be a useful remedy as well.

  2. RhusTox – If the knee pain comes with the symptoms of severe pain in damp weather, intense pain after initial movement which tends to gets better in continuous motion, a prescribed dosage of RhusTox might help in the elimination of the pain.

  3. Colchium – The medicine is useful in treating knee pain which worsens due to movement and subsequently improves in warm weather or after getting appropriate rest.

  4. Silicea – This preparation is useful in curing knee pain which retains the sensation of being tightly bound during all times.

  5. Lachesis – If the knee pain is caused due to rheumatoid arthritis, Lachesis can be an effective treatment. Lachesis can also be prescribed if the pain is accompanied with an abnormal growth around the affected area.

These are just a few of the commonly used Homeopathic remedies and are mentioned only to create awareness about the effectiveness of Homeopathic medicines for Knee Pain. It is not advisable to resort to self-medication for any disease.

Supporting Penis Function Through Yoga!

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
Supporting Penis Function Through Yoga!

With yoga schools and classes available practically everywhere in the country, there's no excuse for any person interested in yoga not to dive right in. And men who are interested in maintaining their penis health might want to investigate a little downward facing dog or warrior positions. Yes, practicing yoga can be a good way to support good penis function - and that's something every man values.

An ancient practice

Yoga has been around for centuries, although only in recent decades has it become so widely available in western cultures. Originating in ancient India, yoga actually encompasses a range of mental, physical and spiritual practices. But when a person refers to yoga today, they generally are talking about a form of physical exercise that incorporates meditation and other mental components into it. As opposed to working out with weights at the gym, yoga is more of a low impact form of exercise - although it can also provide a real work-out when required.

Although there is more to yoga than this, most people associate yoga essentially with exercises that emphasize attaining and holding specially designed poses.

The penis connection

And how can yoga benefit penis function? One way is through the potential boosting of testosterone.

Testosterone, as most men know, is a key component of penis function. Higher levels of testosterone are generally associated with greater muscle mass and tone, stronger bones, increased energy, better cardiac health, a strong libido and healthy erections. So maintaining appropriate levels of testosterone is important for a man.

Some studies have indicated that regular yoga practice can help increase or maintain testosterone levels. This becomes especially important as men age, as the natural aging process typically includes some diminishment of testosterone.

How does yoga help?

Yoga is thought to help with testosterone production in several ways.

- De-stressing. One of the major benefits associated with yoga is a lowering of stress levels. Most people come out of a yoga session feeling significantly more relaxed. Consistent practice of yoga helps a person experience that relaxed feeling for a longer period of time and to be able to draw on it more effectively in stressful situations. This is key because stress triggers cortisol production, which in turns lowers testosterone production.

- Sleeping better. People who regularly engage in yoga tend to sleep better, and not only on nights when they've had a yoga class. Sleep deprivation is also associated with decreases in testosterone (and with increases in stress). In addition, being physically tired can have an impact on the sex drive and ability to obtain and maintain erections.

- Weight issues. Regular yoga participation can help a man to lose weight, which not only makes him feel and look better - it also gets his testosterone working up again. Men who are a healthy weight are also less likely to have blood pressure and cardiac issues, which again can have an impact on penis function and health.

In addition, many yoga poses exercise parts of the body that can be of benefit to a man during sex. For example, yoga can help provide flexibility in the pelvis, increase arm strength for greater upper body support during missionary and similar positions, and develop breathing in a way that promotes better stamina.

Of course, yoga alone cannot assist with penis function or penis health. It is sensible for a man to regularly use a top rated penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) just to keep his penis is overall good shape. The best bet is to use a crème that contains both L-arginine and L-carnitine. The former is an amino acid that is part of the process by which nitric oxide is produced, which in turn keeps penile blood vessels open and receptive for increased blood flow. The latter is a neuroprotective ingredient that protects an overused or aggressively-stroked penis from suffering a diminishment of sensation.
