Hi. Is hearing loss shown in audiogram as flat curve starting at 40 decibels with sub total perforation in both ears ...
Hello, A 40 dB loss with perforation indicates mild conductive hearing loss which is due to perforation of ear drum. It is not a major issue but you can miss out conversation if you are working it might cause a lot of difficulty. Thus get it treated from and ENT either by medicene or surgery. And evaluate your hearing by a qualified audiologist nearby. Regards.

Hello, as you have mentioned you are already having hearing aid. I hope its benefitting you. Cochlear implant is for those people who have profound or in common terms the hearing loss which is very severe. If you are benefitting with hearing aid do not change it. If you feel you are not able to hear properly change the hearing aid.

Hello, There are 2 types of stuttering one is caused by anxiety and other by injury to head. If you started suffering from stuttering after head injury you can consult a neurophysician and a speech therapist online or nearby. If the stuttering is caused by anxiety then you have to consult a speech therapist online or nearby your area. As to my best knowledge there are few people who claim that medicene reduces stuttering but in my practise I have not seen people benefitting with medicenes in case of stuttering due to anxiety. Regards.

I am suffering from Warrdenburg-Syndrome type II, I have heterochromia iridus (right eye blue and left eye brown) and I am deaf from left ear. The deafness was kind of progressive. During my childhood I was able to hear partly however gradually I became completely deaf from left ear. I am able to hear properly from right ear. I want to know is there any risk to my right ear hearing? Can I be deaf from my right ear too at a later stage in life?

Hello, if if the antibiotics consist of aminoglycocide group of medicine it might have affected hearing. If the loss is of severe or profound degree she might have to use hearing aids. With use of hearing aids she can pursue her education n develop her speech. Keep me update regards.

Hello, first of all how old is he. Second young kids of 3 n 4 years old often appear to stutter but be careful about what you classify the problem as. Stuttering appears in kids n disappears after some time. If you feel your son stutters a lot consult a speech therapist in person. Regards.

I am 24 year old male. I have some problem of puberphonia at times and hoarse/hazy voice as I understand from the feedback that I get. What should I do now? I've read online that speech/voice therapy can help me but can someone tell me what would be the duration and approximate cost of treatment? Thanks.

MASLP, Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (B.A.S.L.P)
Speech Therapist, Nashik
Hello lybrate-user as mentioned above you have puberphonia. Usually as I have observed this long in most puberphonia patients the duration depends on how fast you grasp the proper technique shown by speech therapist. The cost of treatment would vary from therapist to therapist.

Sir I have some problem in talking. When I talk unknowingly my words express very fast by me so that some of my words not understand by others. Again some letters are not pronounced correctly. Please tell me what to do and which type of doctors I prefer. Or prescribe me some medicine.

Hello sir, according to your concern express does this kind of fast talking results in repeating of few words. Does this problem persists when you are talking in other language or is it the same in all languages you speak. You require speech therapy for corrections of the misarticulated (incorrect pronunciation) and the as mentioned by you fast talking too. Regards.
