Follow these important tips to get fair colour of skin * avoid to go in strong sunlight and if you have to go in sunlight then cover your face & exposed parts of body before going in sunlight. * Use sunscreen having SPF 15 on face especially in summer and spring season. * Take vitamin -E rich foods like dry fruits, egg and fish as you like. You can take cord liver oil capsule daily. * Take more anti oxidant foods like fruits (Apple, grapes, melon) and citrus fruits. * Make paste of Papaya and apply this paste on face & exposed body parts and leave it for 15 minutes. It brightens the skin and lower melanin content. For fair skin: • Apply one teaspoon Besan with one teaspoon of curd and a pinch of haldi (turmeric) mix it with water then apply for 15 minutes then rinse off it with water Once a week. • Drink 2-3 liters of water everyday to get hydrated & glowing skin. • Mash half banana mix it with 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice and half teaspoon of sandalwood powder mix it well and make smooth paste apply it for 10 minutes then rinse off with water.

Hi firstly, start doing surya namaskar in morning and start eating triphla chooran (natural medicine) in morning empty stomach with luke warm water. Start a fruit dieting every alternative day, means you have to eat fruits every alternative days & normal fruit every other alternative days. Avoid late night dinners and try to eat nothing after sunset. Sit in vajrasana after every meal you eat for 10 minutes. Walk atleast 30 min in morning.

You should avoid sugar and oil, carbohydrates. You may take protein by taking cheese, sprouts soyabean peanuts etc.

Hi My wife is she is 24 years old. Now she is conceived and fifth month has started. She is very oftenly taking vomit immediately taking meals. We had consulted with doctor but they are telling it is normal and every time they use trips. Two days aftet she took trips she will be good. But after that vomit starts and continuous. U can start syrup madiphala rasayana 2 tsp two times before food, dadimavleha 2 tsp at night with warm milk. If possible n available at your place, she should drink one tender coconut juice daily.

Hello lybrate-user, you should immediately see a doctor and get routine urine and blood tests done with your doctor's consent if you have fever from the past 15 days. There are various home remedies that work for cold like herbal tea made using ginger, pepper ped, tulsi leaves, ajwain, cumin seeds and water. Throw all the ingredients along with a pinch of salt in boiling water for 10 min. Sip on this herbal tea at least 3-4times in a day.

Depression????

These tips can help you feel better -- starting right now.

1. Get in a routine.

If you’re depressed, you need a routine.
Depression can strip away the structure from your life. One day melts into the next. Setting a gentle daily schedule can help you get back on track.

2. Set goals .

When you're depressed, you may feel like you can't accomplish anything. That makes you feel worse about yourself. To push back, set daily goals for yourself.
Start very small. Make your goal something that you can succeed at, like doing the dishes every other day.
As you start to feel better, you can add more challenging daily goals.

3. Exercise .

It temporarily boosts feel-good chemicals called endorphins. It may also have long-term benefits for people with depression . Regular exercise seems to encourage the brain to rewire itself in positive ways.
How much exercise do you need? You don’t need to run marathons to get a benefit. Just walking a few times a week can help.

4. Eat healthy.

There is no magic diet that fixes depression . It's a good idea to watch what you eat, though. If depression tends to make you overeat, getting in control of your eating will help you feel better.
Although nothing is definitive, foods with omega-3 fatty acids (such as salmon and tuna) and
folic acid (such as spinach and avocado) could help ease depression.

5. Get enough sleep .

Depression can make it hard to get enough shut- eye , and too little sleep can make depression worse.
What can you do? Start by making some changes to your lifestyle. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Try not to nap. Take all the distractions out of your bedroom -- no computer and no TV. In time, you may find your sleep improves.

6. Take on responsibilities.

When you’re depressed, you may want to pull back from life and give up your responsibilities at home and at work. Don't.
Staying involved and having daily responsibilities can help you maintain a lifestyle that can help counter depression. They ground you and give you a sense of accomplishment.
If you're not up to full-time school or work, that’s fine. Think about part-time. If that seems like too much, consider volunteer work.

7. Challenge negative thoughts.

In your fight against depression, a lot of the work is mental -- changing how you think. When you're depressed, you leap to the worst possible conclusions.
The next time you're feeling terrible about yourself, use logic as a natural depression treatment . You might feel like no one likes you, but is there real evidence for that? You might feel like the most worthless person on the planet, but is that really likely? It takes practice, but in time you can beat back those negative thoughts before they get out of control.

8. Check with your doctor before using supplements .

There's promising evidence for certain supplements for depression,Those include fish oil , folic acid, and same. But more research needs to be done before we'll know for sure. Always check with your doctor before starting any supplement, especially if you’re already taking medications .

9. Do something new.

When you’re depressed, you’re in a rut. Push yourself to do something different. Go to a museum. Pick up a used book and read it on a park bench. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Take a language class.
When we challenge ourselves to do something different, there are chemical changes in the brain .Trying something new alters the levels of [the brain chemical] dopamine, which is associated with pleasure, enjoyment, and learning.

10. Try to have fun.

If you’re depressed, make time for things you enjoy. What if nothing seems fun anymore? "That's just a symptom of depression,"

As strange as it might sound, you have to work at having fun. Plan things you used to enjoy, even if they feel like a chore. Keep going to the movies. Keep going out with friends for dinner.
When you're depressed, you can lose the knack for enjoying life.You have to relearn how to do it.

Low functioning thyroid is a new epidemic of the society affecting more than 3% of people. If thyroid function is low, it causes weight gain, loss of energy, cold intolerance and menstrual irregularities in women.
All people who are aged 50 and above should have their thyroid profile (TSH test) done to look for thyroid deficiency.
In younger people, or in cases of infertility, menstrual irregularity, pregnancy, weight gain, thyroid deficiency should be looked for.
Iodized salt should be used to prevent thyroid deficiency.
Non–iodized salt is only used in two conditions: firstly in patient with thyroid inflammation and secondly, while doing Jalneti in naturopathy, a yoga–related nasal wash technique.
In pregnancy, even mild thyroid deficiency can affect the growth of fetus hence dose requirement of thyroid medicine is much higher in pregnancy than in non–pregnancy.
In the elderly, the dose of thyroid medicine to be started is always low as compared to one in the adults.
If thyroid deficiency is untreated, osteoporosis (thickening of bone) and/or atrial fibrillation (irregular and fast heart rate) may result. Osteoporosis can cause recurrent fractures and atrial fibrillation may cause brain paralysis.
In Allopathic medicine, thyroid deficiency is treated by synthetic T4 hormone replacement.
In Ayurveda, thyroid stimulant drugs are available but they are effective only if some amount of thyroid gland is available.
As per Ayurveda, eating soya and drinking water from copper vessel is good for thyroid.

Hi , gilbert syndrome is a hereditary condition where the bilirubin is not metabolised properly hence you have jaundice. It is a benign condition so do not worry about it. It doesnot have a cure.

Hairfall can be due to many reasons, like excessive pitta in the body or sinus problem or loss of asthi dhatu. So proper treatment is necessary according to symptoms. So please see some ayurveda physician near you personally. Till then you can try these home remedies. 1) start taking 1 amla everyday. 2) Apply paste of trifla, bhringraj & methi seeds on head before washing & wash after 1 hr. 3) Increase the qty of milk & ghee in your diet. 4) Have a good sleep. 5) Go for shirodhara, a panchakarma treatment for reduced stress & better hair growth 6) Reduce the amount of salt & spices in your daily diet 7) wash hair with trifla & neem kadha 8) Make a Hair pack mixing fine powders of triphalā 50 gm, nāgaramothā 10 gm, methī seeds 40 gm and mehendī or hīnā (Lowsonia inermis) powder 150 gm in water and apply from the root to the tips of the hair. This pack is kept for about 2 hrs and washed clean. 9) Take 1/3rd cup of aloe vera juice daily 10) Alcoholic drinks have animosity with good hair so you should better avoid it.

I hope you are under care of a qualified gynecologist for your pregnancy. and are also taking the medicines for "thyroid problem:" You are 5 months pregnant . By now your gynecologist must have started Iron and Calcium tablets and these can usually help feel better. If you are feeling unwell, it could be due to "less food intake" as compared to what you should have. During pregnancy there is a lot of residual acidity and this gets increased by food fads. From the time you get up till you sleep, do the follwoing: 1. eat small meals, like small wati ( bowl ) full meals every 2 hours. 2. Eating more sweet things can help replenish sugar which is the chief source of energy. 3. Avoid acidity by eating frequently and having a meals nutritious meals including of curds or butter milk 4. If you still have vomitting sensation, you can have antacid syrups or tablets for reducing hyperacidity which can be availed off from chemists on showing a prescription. 5. Your last meal should be at least 2 hours before your sleeping time, this prevents regurgitation of food on lying down so visit your gynecologist and discuss the problem with them

Take the following treatment - 1. Take 4 tablespoon of aloevera juice with one tablespoon of honey after dinner. 2. Take 4 tablespoon amla juice + 2 tablespoon honey on an empty stomach in the morning. 3. Take chandraprabhavati 2 tablets twice a day. 4. Avoid junk, bakery & spicy food. 5. My brother is 28 years old but he looks like 40 years old. He had been a patient of hypertension (Lorfast 50 mg) and hyperanxiety (clonazepam 0.75 mg/Escitalopram15 mg) disorder since age 16 and has recently developed diabetes (Metformin 1g). I have problem breathing. My nose always remain congested. An X ray revealed a bit of deviated nasal septum. I was suggested to go for inferior turbinate electro cautery. I want to know if it is a safe procedure and what is the success rate of this procedure.

1. If you have deviated nasal septum it has to be treated by surgery (septoplasty) 3. Inferior turbinate electro cautery is for hypertrophied turbinate, not for deviated nasal septum 3. It is a safe procedure. 3. Consult a good ent surgeon for advice and treatment.

Dear lybrate user chicken pox is a mild self limiting infection in most. But may be life threatening in pregnant women. We need not treat a patient having chicken pox with antiviral drug (like acyclovir) in most patients as the infection is self limiting. But we offer symptomatic treatment for fever. Body ache etc with paracetamol. Symptoms like itching may be relieved by antihistaminic drugs like chlorpheneramine etc. Rest with normal diet and 2 to 3 litres of water a day will be enough.
