5 Beauty Myths You Need To Be Aware Of!

5 Beauty Myths You Need To Be Aware Of!

In the era of information overload, the internet is filled with thousands of beauty advices, most of which tend to do you more harm than good. It is extremely essential to do a thorough and reliable research about the pros and cons of a beauty tip that you intend to utilize.

The following are some of the most common beauty myths that have been passed down through generations:

Myth - Shaving makes your hair grow back thicker
You must have heard a number of times that shaving tends to make your hair grow back coarser, thicker and darker. Scientific evidence proves this notion as a myth; it states that shaving neither affects the rate of your hair thickness nor its growth. Hair shafts are often thicker than the hair ends, which makes them appear thicker.

Myth - Toothpaste aids in getting rid of pimples
Applying toothpaste on pimples is among such beauty remedies that have been doing rounds for a long time. Application of toothpaste on a pimple tends to dry your skin and irritates it. Instead of using toothpaste on pimples, it is advisable to utilize medications which contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid and are designed to treat pimples.

Myth - Trim you hair to make it grow faster
It is one of the most common beauty myths that everyone is aware of. Hair does not grow from its end; it grows from its root. The appearances of split ends arise due to severe hair damage, which slowly make its way towards the top of your hair. Trimming your hair on a regular basis gives your hair a healthier and fuller appearance, but it does not accelerate the rate of your hair growth.

Myth - Cocoa butter helps in preventing stretch marks
Another widespread beauty tip which is unfortunately a myth is that application of cocoa butter on a pregnant woman's belly throughout the course of her pregnancy will prevent the appearance of stretch marks. According to research, cocoa butter has no role in the prevention or control of stretch marks' appearance.

Myth - It is possible to shrink your skin pores
No matter how much you scrub or cleanse your skin; it is not possible to shrink your pores. In fact, you cannot close or open pores even if you want to. In order to give your pores a more refined look, use cleaning devices while cleansing your pores.

Yes its related to obesity. Girstly you need to loose weight that itself would make much difference and then take treatment for further skin lightening.

Skinlite is a steroid based cream which shouldn't be applied for long on the face or body. Stop it and visit some dermatologist or you can do a video consultation with me bit after stopping it for more than 15 days.

It is not any pain, but it looks awkward to me.
Lipomas are benign .they do not cause any problem nor do they change to harmful tumors. They might just grow in size. You might excise them surgically.

Medicines will stop further hair growth but laser will help in reducing the present growth. Also medicines you can not take for bery long as they have side effects. Laser is comparatively safer.

7 Habits You Adopt For Healthy Hair!

7 Habits You Adopt For Healthy Hair!

Healthy, luscious hair is what everyone wants. But for maintaining healthy hair, a good brand of shampoo is not enough on its own. One needs to inculcate certain habits and avoid other ones in order to keep their hair healthy. Here are 9 tips to how you can keep your hair healthy.

Read on more to find out all about it.

  1. Regular Haircuts: Avoiding regular haircuts is actually detrimental for healthy hair. In order to grow long hair regular haircuts are much needed as otherwise the ends would split and dry. Regular trimming reduces the chance of breakage and split ends and you should go for a trim once every 6 to 8 weeks.
  2. Keep it natural: Keeping your hair in its natural way is the best way to keep it healthy. Although doing that during the week could be a problem if you have long hair, specialists recommend that you keep your hair 'on rest' during the weekend. This includes letting it dry naturally, not using styling products and avoiding using headbands or tying up your hair in ponytails.
  3. Scalp care: If regular shampoo use is not stopping you from scratching your head, consult a doctor. Itches tend to traumatize the scalp which weakens the roots of the hair follicles.
  4. Eat healthy and take in a lot of proteinEating healthily and making sure that a healthy amount of protein finds its way in your diet is another sure shot way of maintaining healthy hair. Iron is another mineral required which helps you to maintain those luscious locks.
  5. Try avoid hot tools: Blowing your hair dry sure makes it dry faster but it also takes away the natural moisture making it dry. If you have to use blow dryers, use them at a cooler setting and turn them at a lower velocity. This might take more of your time but it keeps your hair healthy as well.
  6. Deep condition: Go for a deep conditioner once every week as this keeps your hair both hydrated and healthy.
  7. Wear hats: If you are going out in the sun a lot, wear hats as they prevent the scorching heat of the sun from sapping all the moisture from your hair.
