Hello sir, Apply hot water fementation 3-4 times daily. Do Mild calf muscle stretch exercises. Do ankle pumping movement. Avoid long time standing, walking. If your over weight try to reduce it.

I am 47 years old and having back ache for the last 7-8 years and got mri done with the result impingement of nerve at s1 level of l3 l4 and taking medicine like pain killer etc and nerve relaxant. Got physiotherapy done many times. Please advice.

Not all patients of backache & pain joints need surgery. Most of them can be managed without operation morning stiffness is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? Sir actually I am confused whether I am suffering from knock knee problem or not. Actually both my knees touches each other and ankles also touches each other when I stand straight in attention position. There is no distance between ankles when I stand straight in attention position but at same time there is also no gap between knees. So sir do I have knock knee?

A person with knock knees has a large gap between their feet when they're standing with their knees together. If someone with knock knees stands with their knees together, their lower legs will be spread out so their feet and ankles are further apart than normal. A small distance between the ankles is normal, but in people with knock knees this gap can be up to 8cm (just over 3 inches) or more.

Severe body pain can be due to following reasons: 1. Viral infections, such as common cold, influenza, diarrhoea, etc. 2. Inadequate rest/sleep. 3. Excessive stress. 4. Low levels of vitamin D. 5. Low levels of haemoglobin. 6. Muscle or bone diseases. Once identified, body ache can be easily treated. Please don't ignore body ache, while mostly innocuous, makes sense ruling out other troublesome issues.

I have dessication of discs at L5-S1 and due to herniation of discs there is lot of pain in left side of leg mainly in leftvbuttock and below hoto knee. And partial loss of sensation on 3rd and 4th fingers on left foot. Due to this slipped discs I am facing lot of discomfort mainly in last 2 months. The sciatic pain was mild earlier fir past 8 months and now it is too much. Do I need to undergo surgery, are there alternate options available?

You have already started having neurological sensory deficiency. This is a dangerous condition and can progress into paralysis. Surgery to relieve the pressure from the nerves is strongly recommended. Once the nerves are dead there is no coming back from it even with surgery.

Hii. Doctor. I have one problem which makes me sad. I m 23 yrs unmarried girl. Since 6 month I have stomach pain around my belly bottom and more in left side or lower part of stomach the pain is occur when I m pressing my stomach with my fingers than pain is realise. Last 6 month every month this type of stomach pain in come. And 5 to 6 days the pain automatically gone. Now a days again the pain is coming. Please tell me what I can do. Because at which area I m leaving their is no specilist doctor than please help me.

My guess is that you will require a clinical evaluation and ultrasound, you should consult a gynaecologist initially followed by a general surgeon if required. You will probably have to visit a specialist doctor for this but this should not make you sad in any way because diagnosis and management can be done. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. These sensations can be due to ong standing neuropathy which diabetes may cause. Also this could be issues in low back region. As far as knee is concerned, I am certain that there must be some degenerative changes setting in the knee joint due to which she must be having pain. So we can get fresh knee joint x rays done for her, ask her to take medicine for neuropathic symptoms like gabapentin or pregabalin in small doses for her burning sensation at foot region. Continue with exercises and physical therapy for knee, daily walks for 2-3 km ion a day and adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per her age is also must. Meanwhile at all times, her blood sugar levels have to be kept under control. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hi my name is vinay I want to ask a question. My mother is suffered from back pain so what can I do in this situation.
I understand your concern for your mother. We are coming across lot of females complaining of back pain these days. Here could be many reasons for back pain. Many of the problems occur for which we are not aware. Let me recommend you the treatment as well as the precautions you can tell her to do at home to get away her backache. Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine, 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the inter vertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. Treatment- 1. Apply ice or heat which ever suits you directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 2. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Massage - ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage again relax for 5 min and apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from your pain. While performing exercises if pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Massage or slightly rub the painful area and consult your near by physio to diagnose the actual cause of the pain as he/she can guide you proper exercise plan which will be beneficial for you after checking grade of your back pain. For any doubt please inform. Best regards.

It needs to be investigated. Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation. Hi this is Dr. Vyas you have to follow these simple steps 1. Rest for few days 2-3 days. 2. Hot fermentation. 3. Use pain reliever spry (relly spry/ volini spry) 4. If not relief take some medicine like muscle relecxent, pain killer, antacid. 5. Avoid foreword banding 6. Siting with support 7. Avoid heavy pulling, pushing and lifting.

Hello Doc, My age is 24 and weight is 75. Due to my overweight body I get pain in my joints and I get tired often after 1 hour of work or so. It appears that you have t2 diabetes, which needs regular treatment. From your info it is not clear if you are taking any treatment now. Your bmi is 29.29kgs /m2 which means your excessively overweight. Increased weight also increases blood sugar level as fat in the body opposes insulin action (insulin resistance). If you are not on antidiabetic treatment then please start taking anti diabetic drugs immediately. Apart from treatment you also have to work towards reducing the weight. Your ideal body weight should be 54 kgs. Which means you have 21 kgs extra. Please take all necessary action right away.

I'm a 22 year old girl, I tried strangulating myself when I was depressed as an attempt to kill myself two months ago. I used a charger cord. Tried a couple of times, gave up when I was about to pass out. Then I had neck pain for weeks, now I have lower back pain with my left leg pain. I looked up the internet it said scatia, (can be due to nerve damage). I'm not willing to tell parents about this. Can you help?

The following remedy would help you Natural home remedy using wheat, coriander powder, cuscus powder and milk: 1. Soak 60 g of wheat in water overnight 2. Add 2 tsp coriander powder in the morning 3. Add 2 tsp cuscus powder 4. Blend this into a paste 5. Take 250 ml of milk in bowl 6. Add the mixture to the milk 7. Boil for 20 min 8. Eat this lukewarm This will surely help you.
