I have tonsils problem. after eating something cold I often suffer from throat infection? what precautions should I take?

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
Repeated tonsils and throat infection is not normal. It may be due to nasal allergy where nasal and sinus fluids keep dripping from back of nose over throat leading to tonsils.

Hello doctor, I am 49 years and have snoring from my child hood please suggest.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MD - Pulmonary Medicine, MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist,
Though you r overweight, but most common cause of snoring in nasal obstruction either due to nasal inside skin thickening due to repeated colds ie. Allergy, or due to deviation of nasal bone since childhood leading to again one sided nose block. Do an ent opinion & respond. If it is nasal allergy, I can very well help you get relieved of this snoring if this is due to nasal allergy or deviation of nasal bone.

Hi I have cough and it happens every year as weather changes. From winter to summer. Can you give me some suggestions.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
It is probably due to nasal allergy. Commonly nasal and sinus fluids keep on dripping from the back of nose over throat leading to repeated and persistent throat itching and inflammation and hence cough. However, it may be due to airway allergic inflammation ie. Asthma also. I may help. But first do a spirometry test if available and respond.

I feel dry sputum sticking on throat and chest for last 30 years (i am 66 yrs. Every 10-15 mts I hake to take deep breath. Also for last 1 year, while doing brisk walk, burning sensation on the chest & it gradually reduces accompanied by belching. I had tb 42 years back. Drs examine my chest & find it clear. What should I do ?

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
Yes obviously because you don't have anything abnormal in chest. All you seem to have is a post tb allergy state in your nose and eating pipe. It is common post tb. Dry sputum is due to nasal & sinus fluids running from the back of nose over your throat. Burning & belching is due to allergy in eating pipe. I can help.

Something related to your eating pipe. Your eating pipe is probably choked which causes pain and breathing problem when you thrust food into in. I can help.

My chest paining when I m shaking my hand or neck.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MD - Pulmonary Medicine, MBBS

Possible due to compression of nerve within neck muscles. Wherever the nerve ends, commonly over chest, may lead to pricking type of chest pain. I can help.

I am 35 years old, I am suffering form cold, cough from last 10 yrs. Now due to this asthma is coming. Please suggest.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
Since 10 years you have been not treating your nasal allergy with repeated colds and cough. Cough is due to nasal and sinus fluids dripping over back of throat. Now due to uncontrolled nasal allergy, allergy is being transferred to lower airways resulting in asthma. I can help but first upload 2 reports. Do them. 1. Xray paranasal sinus, 2. Spirometry report.

I am 30years old. I an suffering from stomach ache last 5 years. From last 2years I have a problem in breathing. And also acidity. Are these all related 2 each other. Please suggest any medicine.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
Yes related to each other. Acidity leads to loosening of tone of a tight elastic band between stomach and eating pipe. Then acid easliy regurgitates into eating pipe and leads to erosions and ulcerations in eating pipe. This may lead to extreme spasms and tightening of eating pipe leading to breathlessness even at rest. Rather than breathlessness there is problem of deep inhaling. Apart from medicines there are few lifestyle medications. I can help.

I am 23 and I am having cough problem since 2 year. I think I got some allergy. I have done all tests and all went good, nothing bad comes out. But still my cough is persisting. When I take medicine it went away for sometime but after a month or so it started again and again. Currently I am taking allegra on a daily basis. Please suggest someting to me. Thanks.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
Seems to be allergic. 2 tests you would'nt have done are 1. Xray paranasal sinus 2. Spirometry. Have it done and upload the report. Probably you have nasal allergy with post nasal dripping of nose secretions over throat or asthma.

I am 24 year old male and I have asthma. What medicine I should take?

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MD - Pulmonary Medicine, MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist,
First you need to confirm whether it is asthma. Send your spirometry and xray paranasal sinus waters view report first to exactly find the disease. However, asthma can be treated by only & only inhalers, that too antiinflammatory ones, not those which give temporary relief.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS

This information is not sufficient to differentiate between asthma & copd. Both have different treatment, you are taking a mixture of both treatments. Send your spirometry report and chest xray report so that I can help.
